My oven is coming up with error code 9
I have a smegSFPA6300X oven - a red light flashes 3 times and then it turns off - nothing! Any clues ?
I have a smeg oven that after using the supercook setting for baking and turning it to off, it automatically statrs the Pyro function. What is the issue and is it fixable. This is the second Smeg oven that I have had in Ten years. The first just burnt out and destroyed itswelf.
Trust me when I say, the answer is to replace it with something other than a smeg. The absurd complexity of operation renders it useless, and likely only pleases the engineers that designed it and then produced an instruction manual that would rival that used to manage a nuclear reactor.

which smeg oven has a Shabbath mode & will stay on (and l will be able to change the temperature) over a 72 hour period.
Hi Marise. Thank you for your review/ question. Many of our ovens have the sabbath mode feature. I would suggest you have a look at our website and see which oven suits your needs/ requirements. Also, yes, the Sabbath mode stays on 100 degrees over a 72 hour period. Thank you Smeg Australia.
My wife has had several attempts to clean smeg pyrolytic oven model SFPA6300X, but the auto temp. that the manual suggests goes to 500deg. automatically does not go on, and every time my wife has tried to utilise the pyro cleaning function the temp. has failed to increase. Is there something we are doing wrong to utilise the pyro function, or is this function unavailable due to the fact the glass door is in danger of exploding as per numerous reviews on this site ?
Dear Ted, On the SFPA6300X If you look at the instruction book page 26 shows how to set pyrolytic cycle , you must increase or decrease the time after turning to "P". If you still have issues please email me direct at steve.cullen.com.au with your address and telephone contact and I will arrange for a service call to assist with this matter, regards Steve Cullen

Hi Does this oven have a child lock?
Hi Deb W - this model does have a child lock. It is on page 23 of the user manual. Child Lock mode: This mode allows the appliance to lock the controls automatically after one minute of normal operation without any intervention from the user.During normal operation it is indicated by the indicator light coming on. To temporarily release the lock during cooking, hold the programming knob down for 5 seconds. One minute after the last setting the lock will become active again. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries. Kind Regards, Smeg Australia.
HI the manual i downloaded shows page 23 "Cleaning & Maintenance"? Can you please send me a screen shot?
Hi Deb , please email us your email address and we can send you the complete Manual kind regards Smeg Australia
"Page 23 of the manual ..." as referenced by SMEG themselves explains succinctly the core problem with this oven's design. Over-zealous engineers designed a product that can only be operated by other engineers. Read through the comments, and you will recognize this as the one issue that connects them all. Avoid this product.
Hi, I have a SFPA6300X Pyrolytic oven. I have read through the manual re using the pyrolytic cycle . Having turned the knob to the symbol "P" the duration of 2 hours displays but then nothing happens (there is no flashing thermostat light) and i cannot see anywhere in the manual that I need to do anything else to start it. I'm rather concerned, having read some previous questions, that if I do get it to work that the glass may explode! Also, I tried to change the clock time at end of summer but when I press the clock symbol for the 2 seconds it goes straight to Timed Cooking and the Bell symbol appears. Please advise
Hi Freda. Thanks for your enquiry. Can you please contact us direct so that we can guide you through this process? Our telephone number is 02 8667 4888. Kind Regards, Smeg Australia.
We have a smeg oven that’s approximately 15 years old. After cooking in it earlier we turned it off but light continues to be on. We have tried manually by opening door and touching micro switch but light is still on ?
What is the tray above the elements for?
Hi JoyW the tray above the grill element is to stop the roof of the oven from getting dirty, the tray will get dirty then you can remove the tray and clean it. Regards Smeg tech support
