It seems like the electrical fault is very common in this oven! We also have had the issue where the oven stays on at 200deg, and won’t turn off (until mains is turned off). It also starts heating up by itself a few minutes after the mains is turned back on. Our oven is 3 years old. Very annoying as it’s very expensive and there is no other 70cm oven on the market!

How to reset Smeg SFA7390x2 after a power outage. The clock and oven light are working just not the oven. Thanks David

sorry, dont know. Sounds unusual, and the manual is obscure for most things but i suspect you may need an oven technician, as it sounds like an oven relay needs resetting, ( after a power surge when the the power came back on suddenly), and that may require removing some panels, or it could be worse, and some pcb may be fried. SORRY. ASSUMING YOU HAVE ALREADY CHECKED THE RELAY MARKED "OVEN" ON YOUR MAINS POWER BOARD

How do I cancel the timer after accidentally starting it. Thank you.

There may be other ways but the only way I know is to select the timer again ( By pressing the left knob once which selects temperature, then again to select the timer), then simply turn the left knocked a number of times Anti-clockwise, to reduce the timer setting to zero. Then walk away.

SFA7390X Oven will not turn off. Purchased in November 2019. The switches are unresponsive. I cannot alter the mode (fan assisted) /change the temperature - it is locked at 200 or set the timer. The temperature is holding at 200 - I can hear the clicking on/off to maintain the temperature. The light comes on when I open the door. I will have to turn off the power to the house as the plug is behind the oven and it is too hot/dangerous to remove.

Had my Smeg installed June this year and all worked well until recently. Now it takes extra time to cook or we have to put degrees up very high. Any suggestions

Mine is doing that as well, but not to a huge extent. I think the thermostat probe, which is somewhere inside the oven, is probably dirty and needs a clean, so that it correctly senses the right temperature, rather than "over-reading" the temperature which it appears to be doing, but i am too lazy at present to go through the manual and the oven to clean it. I did find Smeg very usefully responsive when i first had a problem so it is at least worth giving them a call if you are still under warranty, as they may also know of a known issue like defective thermostat sensors, and be able to assist..

how do I turn off the oven. I pressed the function know and the display still shows E and has not gone to StandBY JEREMY

Try pressing and holding the right hand function button for 5 secs or more.. You should get a beep. The fan will stay on. It stays on until the temp has significantly reduced. But the display will show only the temperature gauge and not much else.

My oven doesn’t cook evenly, the left hand side cooks first! Any suggestions as to why this may be happening? Also, how do I remove the oven door to clean it - model SCA706x.

Thanks Bern

Brand new...only used 3 times. Each time after finishing a 40 minute cook on 160 degrees and turning off, the fan runs for 20 minutes then shuts off. Upon shutting off the control panel begins to heat up. The temperature bar show 3 segments and remains so for in excess of half an hour, all the time the control panel gets hotter and hotter almost to the point of being untouchable. Gradually, after well over an hour the temperature bar reduces to one bar, all the while the control panel is extremely hot, and again after some extended period the whole thing cools. This is our second Smeg oven. The first one never had this problem. What on earth is wrong?
