Probably one of the worst extraction fans I have purchased – Installed a brand new SMEG fan and extremely disappointed. 3 Speeds - loud, louder and very loud. the lowest speed sucks better than top speed. So bad we got the technician out to check it. Installed correctly, no issues and even he was dumbfounded at its lack of performance. You can watch steam from a boiling pot spill over and around the hood with hardly any extraction. The only remedy we were offered by E&S was to purchase another unit - an alternative brand. SMEG - might have great cook tops and ovens but I recommend testing their fans before purchasing one. There were no issues with installation, ventilation or competing airflows etc - just a very bad performing product. I will try and add a video. The most disappointing thing is the attending service man acknowledged that the fan was underperforming and failed to achieve what would be acceptable - but because the fan was "functioning" nothing could be done. Be careful what you purchase! Fan purchased 2020 and installed in a new build - operational 2021. $2000 unit - looks nice but very poor performance..

Purchased in at e&s for $2,000.

Disappointed Rangehood – My SMEG rangehood was installed by the builder with the Cooktop, Oven & Dishwasher when I moved to my new house in 2016. The rangehood was not working well, it started to have a strange noise recently. Then I contacted SMEG customer service and paid $150 to check. The technician told me that the main Motor need to be replaced after 3 minutes diagnosis and SMEG quoted me for $1050 for motor replacement. Therefore, it adds up the total for $1200 for my repair. Basically, it will cost the same as a brand new unit. We may not consider to purchase SMEG appliance again as this is a luxury appliance 'Made in Italy', but it did not last long. Most importantly, the cost of repair is ridiculous. Why don't we install a brand new unit instead of fixing it?
