Half toasting of bread – I fail to understand why SMEG have not ironed out a very common design fault ie. only one element works not two so toast is only done on one side. Two replacements later I've given up and accepting that my toast is only cooked on one side. Show details

Nice too look at but not good at toasting – Purchased because of the look and thought smeg was a reputable brand. This is the 2nd toaster and toasts on one side only and currently on level 6. Very disappointed. Kettle is great. Show details

Worst toaster ever – This toaster would have to be the worst toaster I have ever owned. The quality is poor, and does not cook the toast evenly. I use many varieties of breads plus crumpets and muffins. because of the poor quality the lever sticks on one side. I then have to push it down with wooden tongs. 3rd toaster in 3 years due to electrical issues and the 3rd has just failed! – I am currently on my 3rd toaster in 3 years. The previous toasters all tripped the house safety switches within a year of having them. The 3rd toaster has just shorted tonight. I am concerned about the safety of this appliance. We are not heavy users, it’s just the 2 of us. We might use the toaster every 2nd or 3rd day. I’ve sent an email so we’ll see what they come back with.

Disappointed – After reading the reviews I thought I should also comment stating I am experiencing the same problems as many written here. I have a 4 slice toaster that has tripped the electrics a few times, the most recent then resulting in it only toasting on 1 side in both slots. We are a family of 5 and the toaster is used a lot!! Disappointed – Such a beautiful toaster and for the price you’d expect great quality. Like many other reviews I’ve seen ours stopped roasting both sides of the bread shortly after warranty period ended. We now have to turn the roast round every time which is a annoying. Toaster won't stay down t – We have had 2 smug toasters in 2 years our second is black one they won't stay down we are sick of them my wife said I was pressing down to hard with the first one so the new one I have been gentle with after 10 mth 4 piece of toast a day. Broken in less than a year – Bought Smeg toaster and kettle and the toaster is now only toasting on one side. Very disappointing and I see it's not the only person who has experience this with the Sneg toaster. The kettle is heavy and pretty slow to come to boil. All in all very disappointing, what has happened to quality of Smeg????  Show details
