One sided toast only! – Wish I had read the reviews of this toaster before I purchased! Our toaster is about 6 months old and we have never been able to get it to toast both sides of the toast (at once)! I do not have the bagel button pressed and thought it must be a European thing, but really when you pay a substantial amount, you expect it to work. Have contacted Smeg so I hope I get satisfaction as I have already purchased the matching kettle. What a shame. Show details

Great look terrible quality – We are almost the exact same scenario as the previous review. now sits on top of the overhead cupboards & we use the grill. At least the grill seems to be more reliable than most toasters these days. We also bought the matching kettle which still seems to working okay. Just disappointed as we’re not asking much, just toast.

Great Toaster – I purchased this recently from Harvey Norman and it’s very stylish; great functionality and it does exactly as its meant to! It... TOASTS! I do think this is an issue though. First toast for my little ones kind of toasty. Then my husband after is dark. Then mine I always reduce it to the lowest as it’s alreasy hot as mine will burn being the last round. So I think it’s a 4/5 but 5/5 for looks!  Show details

Only cooks one side or burns toast – On 3 it burns both sides of toast. On 2 and a half it only cooks one side. This is why I bought a new one as my $10 Kmart one only cooked one side. It is very heavy and looks good but if it doesn’t perform it’s not worth the money.  Show details

Beautiful looking toaster, thats about it – Was my birthday gift, pink toaster. Unfortunately didnt last long. When it was working it was great but then one side of the element stopped working. Replaced with 2nd new Smeg and less than 6 months later same thing. My pink Smeg kettle had the “S” come off so it became “MEG”. It was a joke. Im suprised my Smeg oven is still going. Two years RIP :( – I bought this toaster to go with all my other Pink Smeg kitchen stuff. Adore the styling and colour! The toaster not brilliant, very uneven from day one and it has just quietly died, I can see only one element now lighting up and the lever won't keep it down at all. I am super disappointed wth the longevity having paid $179.00 my expectation would have been it lasting many years longer. Too much money for too little time!! Signed Sad Face :(  Show details
