Toaster stopped working and smeg wouldn’t replace – Toaster has always been an issue with toast jumping out of the toaster and onto the bench leaving crumbs everywhere. I am currently on unpaid maternity leave and the toaster stopped heating on 2 panels resulting in half bread / toast and unusable. I contacted smeg who advised as it is way out of warranty they are unable to replace, very disappointing as the toasters are super super expensive and you expect it to last a lot longer then they do. If only it worked as well as it looks – This toaster looks great. The two wide long slots were perfect for our favourite sourdough bread. It seemed to be the perfect toaster for us. After a while the bread was only being toasted on one side, then one side of the toaster stopped working and today it doesn't function at all -shorted our power. Smeg have been amazing in their response.… Read more · 3
I should have contacted them before posting this review. Smeg have replaced the toaster and it now sits happily with our other Smeg products- Stove and Kettle. Contact the product distributor first if you have problems, it is the fair thing.
Waste of money – I brought this toaster along with my kettle in May 2018, just after 3 months the toaster middle element has gone.We continued turning toast over to fully cook. I ordered online through a company and when i approached the company my purchase had fallen past the 3 month time limit for me to get any help from Paypal and company wouldn't return my… Read more
emails (not SMEGs fault i know).
This toaster was nearly £150. Not happy, this morning after taking 10 mins today to make some toast i've decided to research buying a new element(again no idea why i didn't think of this before) but i can't find the spare part anywhere-surly for this price im not expected to throw away this very expensive piece of kitchen eye candy-which is all its useful for now...
Almost burnt house down – At first I was very happy with my toaster. Looked beautiful & worked well. However about 6 months into using it caught fire. I had my back turned & could smell burning & turned & it was on fire. It frightened me so much. I'm very fussy with my toasters & it was always kept clean. I would dearly love another tho not sure if I could trust another SMEG Show details

6 months old going good – Though the quality isn’t overly great the style is so nice and is the only toaster I actually like the look of , stainless steel doesn’t get too dirty either. And the functions are really easy to use and have a nice shade of light, toast comes out good also. Show details
SMEG is really premium brand? – After some of my poor experiences with SMEG appliances, unfortunately I bought new one - toaster. To be clear - I had washing machine - it failed after ca 5 years without possibility or repair (before the diagnosis I spent significant money on service). I had oven - it had never worked properly, I got rid of it when only I change some kitchen… Read more
equipment. I also had two gas plates - first one was ordering in not acceptable way, the second one did nor work properly with starting fire. But the toaster was really beautiful... So what, it it failed after 3 months of using it. I bough it from a person who won it in some lottery - so that I don't have purchasing proof... When I asked to repair basing on warranty card (I have all docs), I got an answer that it was sold in 2015. I think it was produced in 2015, I am sure it was brand new when I bought it. IT IS NOT PREMIUM BRAND.

Looks nice, but does not last and is NOT worth the money – I bought the Smeg TSF02 toaster because 1) Smeg is a premium brand, 2) the product had the features we wanted (four slice) and 3) it looked nice. The first toaster lasted about 18 months before an electrical fault with the device required that it be replaced, which it was under warranty. The second one lasted about 12 months. Same electrical… Read more
fault with the toaster. The toast was never quite right in these machines. Also, the mechanism for getting the toast out of the toaster seemed to be set for baseball players and you almost needed a baseball glove to catch the toast before they fell out onto the bench or the floor! The device was horrible, and I paid over $200 for this product. Never again! Stay away from these things, they are terrible.

Only toasts one side of the bread – This toaster looks very nice, but it gradually started cooking unevenly and now after a year one side of the element has stopped working altogether. It iwas disappointing because I have had many SMEG appliances which have been extremely reliable. After I raised this problem, SMEG customer service got back to me the same day and delivered a replacement toaster, under warranty, within a few days. They were responsive and efficient Show details
Best looking toaster – I was hesitant about buying such an expensive toaster but I am very happy about the look and performance. I love the long slots to fit in odd shaped bread. I like how the dial accurately clicks onto the desired setting I haven't had the toaster long so can't comment on long term reliability. Show details
