Exterior finish not sturdy. Would not buy again – It works perfectly as a kettle. I bought it for its aesthetic. 6 months after buying the paint is chipping off the rim. I have taken so much care not to bump it or get drips on it but there are stains on the kettle exterior. The chipping around the rim worries me that paint has fallen into kettle and we are drinking it. Probably a good kettle but will look old and battered before the first year is done. Show details
New kettle to replace the older one 3 years old not the same – I have been relatively happy with my SMEG kettles. My first one lasted 3 years and has started to leak. I decided to buy a new one (the same) but must say the sound is now a little tinny and it does not pour as well as the older one. Pity as it does look like something has changed in the quality.

Love the retro Smeg kettle – I purchased my Smeg kettle directly from Appliances Online. First of all, it looks fabulous! There are several settings for water temperature. there. My only negative is that it stopped working twice. My positive was that Appliances Online replaced the kettle both times. They were wonderful. Huge tick for Appliances Online. It's working well since and I'm very happy with my Smeg Kettle.
Disgusting for its price – I am not happy with this product we have only had this just over 2 years and the base has gone will not boil just switches off. For the price I thought it would last but I emailed spare parts to Get quote for a new base only and to my shock it is the same price as a whole kettle. Still had to add the postage on top of that. buy another and stupid me brought the toaster to so I guess it will go soon to I installed a stove as well and it only come with runners for one shelf. So I priced a set of them only to find out they were over $100 to buy as well. My advice is buy cheaper good brands that come with everything and most times more my $39.99 kettle lasted 7 years.

so disappointed with SMEG for producing such rubbish with such an exorbitant price. I have quality appliances throughout my home, mostly SMEG but this time SMEG has missed the mark. My Russell & Hobbs that I loved lasted me close to 5-years at half the price.

Westinghouse kettle prior to this lasted longer. Hopefully Smeg reach out because this is very disappointing and appears I'm not the only one with a below average experience with these kettles.

Excellent Customer Service from Smeg service team – I absolutely love my kettle, its stylish, quiet and quick. When my first kettle had a malfunction, the Smeg service team were exceptional and replaced my faulty kettle extremely fast and responded to my correspondence within hours. Show details
Fails in the first week – We just upgraded our old Smeg kettle and toaster as both became faulty after 2 5 yrs use. The new temperature control isnt working after 1 week. It is set to 100 and stops at 70. It takes me 3 goes to get it to boil. Not impressed. I think it will be going back! Show details
