I had the same experience as previous posters, boils hard on low instead of a gentle simmer. Useless as a slow cooker, I can use a saucepan if I want to boil my food. Have had slow cookers all my adult life, was a shift worker and found them fabulous for cooking while I was asleep. This is the first one I have had an issue with, certainly could not leave this one unattended. Show details

Very disappointing!!! – I'm disappointed in this slow cooker. It boils on both low and high settings and the result is dry lamb, dry pork and the one time i cooked beef it ended up burning it!!! I bought a cheaper, smaller one from Aldi and it is ace just not large enough. Show details

The metal exploded on the first use – Around 2 hours into the first ever use of my slowcooker I heard a loud pop and upon investigation found a hole in the metal and metal shards sprayed all over the base of the pot (see photos). a housewarming gift, so I can't return it as I don't have a receipt, but I was not impressed by how little smith and nobel seemed to care that their slow cooker had exploded

Great product – Love this slow cooker, I’ve made everything from roasts to stews to risottos to soups to desserts (FYI the risottos and desserts are generally better on the stove/oven). I’m really happy with it, the only improvement area would be the outer case is hard to clean. Show details

Boils even on low – This crockpot boils everything, even on low, surely it's supposed to cook slowly over the 8 hours and not boil the goodness out of the vegetables. I'm so disappointed after paying good money for it, money down the drain. I will be going back to my old one which is 15 years old and cooks slowly like they are supposed to. Wont be buying this brand again.  Show details

Great slow cooker – Great slow cooker. Does exactly what you need it to do. High/low and 'keep warm' setting. Easy to wash. Not too heavy. I've made lots of yummy dinners in it.
