Sony A8H Series

Great Picture while it lasted – We bought this Sony OLED TV just over 3 years ago for $3500. Fabulous picture at the start, but a couple of months ago noticed a pale line about 1 to 2 cm wide at the top of the screen, which has since developed into a permanent green/white line across the top of the screen. Poor quality from a once great brand. Shortest time we've ever had a TV last, so will have to replace it, and it certainly won't be another Sony.
Cinephile Geared TV – This is my second OLED TV from Sony and absolutely delighted to see - Snappy Android performance! - Extreme video processing especially in modern streaming (low bit rate) content. - Obviously high contrast and black level performance - Saw some Fire & dusk HDR scene , blown away and wonder if i can go back to Cinema ever again? - i am no gamer so hdmi 2.1 is non issue for me. - thanks for the eARC
Now for certain things which are missing still. Following things took away the star for me.
- Price point is similar to what i paid for my AF8 OLED 2 years ago. Need bigger screen . - Obviously I watch oled in dark so need a backlight remote, please please. - Idle timeout is fixed time, rater it would be great to use presence sensor/LIDAR to detect people in room. - back ambient lighting system like Philips hue would be nice.
Purchased in at Harvey Norman.
Best TV I have owned – A brilliant TV with a fantastic out of box picture which we love. No issues with brightness with superb picture in the dark at night or daylight during the day. The X1 Ultimate chip gives a fast responsive viewing experience. The A8H is not the cheapest but to me is value for money for those who enjoy movies on DVD it Bluray or Netflix and free to air television with great upscaling . So far no disappointments.
