Awesome. Love it! – Great zoom. Takes underwater photos. Great for taking to the snows or the beach. Has a panoramic function. Photos are clear, crisp and vibrant. Has lots of different functions. I do find the touch screen a bit annoying at times. It's hard to use if your fingers are wet. Overall a really fantastic camera. Waterproof, panoramic function, great zoom for compact camera Touch screen annoying

Nice, compact, stylish and rugged – After previously purchasing a Panasonic GF1, I found that the misses didn't like its size - and she was always somewhat jealous of friends carrying around compact cameras. The Panasonic GF1 was small, but the Sony TX10 is tiny. She has a tendency to drop and damage things, which began my hunt for a rugged compact. Most rugged compacts on the… Read more

market are rather ugly and promote their rugged attributes through their styling. That was until I found out about the Sony TX10.

A few points about the Sony TX10 - there's many more detailed reviews on the net:

- Styled like other compact Sony cameras. You really can't tell that it's a rugged compact (unless you actually recognise this model).

- Video recording, there is a noticeable delay to start recording.

- Slightly concerned with grit getting trapped in the front cover and scratching its finish, but that has yet to happen.

- All compartments are weather sealed, and there is a sensor when you open any one of them. The camera will remind you to check each of them and check that there are no foreign particles obstructing the seals.

- The touch screen is capacitive. Very happy that they didn't choose a resistive type touch screen. Though, by choosing this capacitive screen, the screen won't work in water.

- Love the sweep panorama functionality. And it accurately stitches the images together majority of the time.

- Interface is slightly sluggish at times, but definitely not a deal breaker.

- Image quality is fine, obviously not as nice as the GF1. But that's comparing apples to oranges.

Have since sold the Panasonic GF1, so we're content with this little gem as out only camera for the moment.

At $169 USD plus shipping it was a steal! Inexpensive, reliable, durable.
