Awesome good priced camera & video recorder – I Love this camera! I use it every week for still shots and video. It has awesome quality on both. Plus you can just shoot & it will do it's stuff automatically or you have complete control by selecting manual options. It also has beauty shot, panorama as well as numerous special effect options if you like something a bit different. Great quality photos and video. Great price.

Best Point and Shoot – What a great camera, brought this to take on a 3 week trip to NZ south Island.Had a ball with it and I must say that I have a friend who is into photography and when he seen the photos that the camera produced he went straight out and brought one. He told me I should buy an SLR but I thought that I wouldn't be able to use it to its full potenicial so I went with the point and shoot. The quality of the photos are excellent just in the auto mode and there are heaps of difference mode to play with as you gain more confidience or if you are just a fiddler, it will keep you interested for months. Hd video recording is fantastic as well, solves that age old problem of carrying video and still cameras. Love the precision setting zooms to 30x optical and then 40x ditial = 120x zoom like wow you can get close to some far away things. This is definately the best camera I have ever owned and if your after something that is just under an SLR than this is the camera for you. Easy to use great in point and shoot mode.Hd video and stills No real manual to tell you how to drive it.

The user manual on the supplied CD contains far more detail than the very basic little book.

I had the same problem with my Olympus. A CD with the instructions on it isn't much use when you need to refresh you're memory on the camera functions when you don't have access to a CD player. I had Olympus photocopy the manual so I had a hard copy whenever I needed it. Very bulky but atleast I had it for emergencies.

we'rve become very close it goes everywhere with me – As a professional wedding photographer i've always preferred the slr for quality and clarity and always bulked at changing over to digital...however, i recently made a "semi switch" to digital using both slr and digital for a wedding to compare the difference, not only was the digital just as good, but the ease of handling and not having to change a roll of film at a crucial time really won me over. I still love my slr camera but have conceded defeat in as much as... Digital has it all and more Super efficient, and very compact ans relatively easy to use Batteries didn't last long enough

Perfectly as expected – After using numerous film cameras over the years I took a chance on a Sony DSLR (A300) and was not dissapointed. Next I was looking for an easy to use "superzoom" which I could use for quick shots and my partner could get decent close-ups of birds without having to play around changing lenses. I wasn't expecting DSLR quality images but have been pleasantly surprised at some of the good images I've managed. You can play with the settings or just leave it to the (very comprehensive) auto settings and not be dissapointed. The video (particularly coupled with the excellent zoom) works very well and the sweep panorama has produced some wonderful vistas.

Not a DSLR by any means, but a very good point and squirt with many extras. A little bulkier than some, I'd say it's worth it. Great unit, very pleased with the purchase. Easy to use, great video and panorama and good images Some difficulty finding correct settings in the menu initially, no ability to add filters (though some afte-market adaptation fixes this).
