Great and easy to use image quality – I had never considered a small camera like the W350 but i won one and must say it has turned out to be one i use most of the time now, i can keep it in my pocket all the time which i can't do with my bigger Sony, i do a lot of images for a newsletter and it is perfect for that, i have printed many shots and showing people they are quite surprised… Read more
that it came from a camera like this, would recommend it to anyone. Image quality, ease of use, good battery life, fast, accurate colour, good video. To slow from buffer, no control of shutter or f stops sometimes no depth of field
Hate this camera!! – Purchased about 18 months ago because I wanted to upgrade from my old Kodak Easyshare before my first baby was born. I originally was trying to decide between a Nikon & Panasonic but a staff member at a store I won't mention said this Sony was good because the Carl Zeiss lense is the best in the world.... Hmmm. It is beyond me why manufacterers… Read more
spend so much time jamming stupid features in to these cameras at the expense of image quality. Shouldn't that be the most important thing? Isn't that why people buy cameras, to take photos? Small, light, fairly simple to use Image quality. I have fiddled with the settings as much as I can, I still can't get a decent picture, maybe close ups with the flash sometimes turn out ok. After my daughter was born, the photos from her first 3 months are too embarrassing to show people, the quality is that bad. I kept taking them to different places to get developed until I realised it was the camera. Just had over 100 of her 1st birthday photos developed and had to get them redone after I edited every single one on my computer to change the colour/exposure. And still they are not sharp enough and many of them slightly blurry.
Excellent – this digital camera has it all and delivers every single time I use it. another thing I am pleased with Sony for doing is making this camera compatible with the sony duo memory sticks used in their video cameras and SD memory cards which i think is awesome. so you can use either kind which is a money saver. Sony used to only ever use their cards… Read more
which of course were the most expensive on the market and now I have already got Sony duo sticks for my video camera i can now use them in the compact digital camera as well. it has a Carl Zeiss lens and gives crisp clear images and the quality of the sound that the video function records is of an OK quality too. the panoramic sweep is fantastic and takes the difficulty of cut and paste of stitching a view together after the fact. it has automatic function for taking photos as well as letting you override and changing to a manual mode so you can select the best option if you so choose. it can take macro photos and can handle lots of different settings to allow you the freedom to take more control of your photography if you so choose. its small, its light and it really is just awesome. it comes an array of colours from silver, blue, black, red and pink and is sure to please. the screen at the back is not a touch screen but i find that to my liking too. it can take care of red eye and it has a auto timer so you an self portrait which we all do from time to time. in summation a fantastic light weight compact digital camera that has all you could ever need and more and delivers every single time you hit the shutter. it really is a sexy unit! love love love this tiny pocket dynamo of a camera. I purchased this camera for about one tenth of what he paid my hubby spent almost $2K on a digital SLR which don't get me wrong can take fantastic photos, but it is too cumbersome to take everywhere. We end up leaving it behind on most occasions and so miss out on photo opportunities. I wanted a put in and leave in the handbag kinda camera that would be taken everywhere and consequently used more often to capture life's moments. and it has 14 megapixles so if you happen to take "that shot" this camera can manage getting the image blown up should you so desire. the panoramic sweep function of this camera is a fantastic function and is what actually persuaded me to buy this model. a simple setting change from a button @ the back and depress the shutter and gently "sweep" your photo and it automatically stitches together a 220 degree view in any direction you choose, vertically or horizontally which can make for some awesome panoramic landscapes a very simple thing indeed. it also has the ability to just as easily be switched to movie mode and then you have a video camera. this camera is about the size of a credit card and about 1cm thick. it is light enough to carry anywhere, will fit in a pocket and will do all you would ever need out of a compact digital camera. if there is anything I haven't found it yet
Good – I love Sony camera and have been a Sony fan for a long long time. The W350 is extremely easy to use and would suit a beginner. It does have good functions but would not be enough to keep the pros happy. However, this is probably one of the most value cameras around that takes nice photos and wouldn't let you down. Just bare in mind that sony… Read more
battery is quite expensive as well as the memory card. Excellent specification. Takes great pictures. Easy to use. Very reliable. Wonderful Panorama function. Good lens. Sony is expensive for parts, memory card and battery.
Excellent – Highly recommend this point and shoot digital camera. Definitely recommend the W350 over the W320 for the Carl Zeiss lens. I can't fault this camera. After using Nikons for the last 10 years I was reluctant to try something else but the new Nikon point and shoot housing is too plastic for my liking and didn't seem very durable. This Sony is… Read more
just as easy to use, has new functions like auto detect scene settings which saves a lot of time fussing around with buttons when trying to get a shot quickly.
Panarama view is a lot of fun to use, dual shot in dim lighting gives some great effects on unusually lit shots, anti-blur is also very useful.
I've even turned the megapixel rating down to 10 because I'm not enlarging images that much that I need 14 megapixel shots, and this way I can get more photos on my memory card and the quality is still exceptional even when shooting from a distance. Only because I'm used to a camera that uses normal AA batteries, I am used to having power at all times so with the Sony I recommend buying a spare Lithium Ion battery so when one is flat you still always have a backup.
