Sad but True : Use for External – Overall a successful experiment by sony way back in 2005/6 but they discontinued because of the complex DVD mechanism. The surround system works GREAT ! The output is excellent. I love the sound response.

Its sad that the DVD stopped working right after 4 months of purchase, paid twice for repairs.. finally gave up.

Moved the system over 3 houses since last 11 years, wires - and connectors - Excellent

Alternately I also own the Sony MGONGO 6.2 since 2011..

You are right – I got this system in sep 2005 and I still use it without the DVD drive function. It has a great sound and bass, i use it with my TV now.

good view,easy to access, you will like it. It is good, reliable and have good sound for party, movies and other stuff. I missplace the remote that came with it.

well as cudn't read DVDs.After a month time I got it back at a charge of 1700 with a comment on the sheet "OPD condition not good"!!!Within another 2 months the same issue reappered and again went for repair.Since then somehow the tray is opening after unlimited no. of attempts and recently DVD player stopped responding but the same lens can play MP3,VCD etc.I need a suggestion from you friends...should I go for a repair again as my prev experience is not good or should I attach an external DVD player to use the amplifier of the system with a Digital in as the system is having a pair of Optical in/out port.Please suggest me on using the Optical fibre digital connectivity to get otimum output and how much wud be the price.Please get back with your valuable comments(c_dev@hotmail.com) Sound Output and Quality if works smoothly after sales service and spares

Good – great surround sound without having to pay the earth and sony reliabilaty ensure you have purchased a quality sound sytem. great sound close to life like the control is massive and if you use a cd stomper on discs they get stuck and this is very costly to fix ????doesnt play all the format options
