Left earbud doesn't charge after 18 months. Very poor durability. No service from Sony when requested - only given option of paid repair or discount on new pair of earbuds.

Purchased in at Officeworks for $190.

I bought these in march 2023 and one of the buds lost its ability to recharge just over two years later in June 2025. I tried all the troubleshooting tips include Reset and nothing worked. When I asked Sony to repair, they said I would have to pay over $100 just to post them back, and that the cost of repair or replacement would be an additional charge. Of course then it's cheaper to just buy new ones, and we continue this cycle of built obsolescence where technology is built to last only 2-3 years and then it sits in landfill forever. If you want earbuds that last and reduce your impact on the planet, I suggest trying a different brand.

Poor product quality duration and high assistance service fees – I bought a LinkBuds S / WF-LS900N for less than 2 years and the battery is not last even for 10 minutes. I already tried all the updates, reset, initialisation but nothing changes. Actually just got worse and has been lasting even less. This was not cheap to last for so short time. Also, this is not the Sony quality that I was expecting. I got in touch and they gave me two options: 1st. fix using the assistance service which would be charged as it has been out of guarantee. 2nd. Get a new earpods with a discount but for this, I’d need to have a quote from the assistance service first. Long shorter, the service price was $170 only to do the quote. Plus the quote price which I don't know as only to do the quote they would charge me half of a new hearpods. Nonetheless, If I had paid for the quote and decided to not proceed with the quotation then $170 is not refunded. So, the maths are simple... if only the service is $170 + the service itself to fix the problem, there is no way to worth it as it could be the same price as a new one or even more expensive. When I decided to buy a Sony brand it was due to its quality. What a disappointment.
