Great Little Camera with Professional Performance – Super light and compact yet powerful. Relatively large sensor and performs well in low light without a tripod. Body looks great but a little unbalanced to handle when a big lens attached. It will be a good backup camera when you don't feel like taking your expensive camera out but still want to capture some nice shots. Show details
Amazing quality and great travel camera – As a professional photographer, I owned one of these cameras. It was light, fit it in my pocket, interchangeable lenses, great quality images also in low light. I produced some amazing images and memories on this camera. Great to take over seas and capture that moment with out the hassles of a big dslr Show details
excellent for photographing kids! – I was after a camera with high quality that could keep up with taking photos of my young children (fast moving!!) my old point and shoot camera (a terrible Olympus I would never own again) always came out blurry with the kids and with sports etc I wanted to be able to take great photos of various things. This camera is BRILLIANT, easy to use (I am… Read more
no pro photographer) but even on intelligent auto I can take great photos easily! it blurs the background for me when needed to make the subject stand out. Portable enough that I can take it everywhere with me, is less bulky than a DSLR which was my other option and I have not once regretted my choice! I See myself loving this camera for a long time. It has less zoom than a DSLR but to me that doesn't really matter, what it lacks there it makes up for in ease of use and portability :) Less bulky than a DSLR so way more portable, has fast speed to catch quick moving objects, great intelligent auto feature absolutely nothing bad to say about it!
Versatile, the only camera you'll ever need – The Nex-3 is bottom of the range and has the plastic body but you don't notice it at all. I thought that I would upgrade when the newer models came out but don't feel that I need to. I have dropped mine a couple of times, lens and all and it has been fine. Sony makes interchangeable E-mount lens options for these cameras. My camera came with… Read more
the 2 lens kit and I bought the 18-200mm sony lens and now I never take it off. I also have the fish-eye adapter that fits on the standard 16mm lens. Works really well. I never use middle lens. I also bought the remote controller which is great for taking long exposure shots.
The camera is light and easy to use. Nothing like dragging around a bulky DSLR but it still gets the same good shots. The flash only really works with the smaller lens. You can buy a flash extender but I didn't bother. With a tripod or a steady hand, you can still get good low light shots.
Bought all the gear from Digital Camera Warehouse. They often have good deals and/but the service is fantastic. If you order something and they don't have it, they won't take your money until it arrives and they'll keep you informed on the progress. You can cancel your order anytime you want, if they don't have it in stock. Light weight, functionality, interchangeable lens options Doesn't come with any cover protection for the viewer. Viewer can be a pain in outside bright light.
Shots good memories – I always bring with me my Sony Nex C3 camera. Whether I am doing cycling, mountain climbing, etc., it captures good resolution and results. It has an E-mount 18-55 mm lens, 16.2 megapixels with HD movies at 7 20/30. What I love more is it is light and easy to use compared to DSLR cameras that are bulky and heavy. The battery lasts long even if you… Read more
have already taken 240 something photos a day.
My Sony Nex C3 is my tool in capturing good memories that I have. high quality shots
By far the best digital camera I've ever owned – I've been traveling for the last 4 weeks with this camera & I have to say that I love everything about it. There is not one thing I don't like. It's easy to use, I haven't read the manual yet and believe me, I'm no tech head when it comes to electronics. The camera is small light weight (275gms), not quite small enough to pop in jeans (or… Read more
fitted pants pockets), but small enough if your pockets are looser. I ended up getting the twin lens kit which are great if your just wanting wide angle shots like city views or limited zoom functionality. When traveling, I didn't think there was enough zoom for my liking, so I brought the 18-200 lens. This lens made a massive difference, it's worth the extra money. The lens are Sony's E mount lens, which are different to standard lens mounts, but you can buy a lens mount converter to use another brand or older lens you may have. Not sure of the cost of it tho. Oh if you buy the bigger lens, think about buying the bigger flash to go with it. While the flash that comes with the camera (which can be taken off it not needed, as it's not built into the camera) is good for the lenses that the camera comes with, I don't think it's big or bright enough for the extra length of the 18-200 lens. You might be able to get your hands on a flash extender, but I don't think it's worth it, just go the bigger brighter flash, you won't regret it.
Don't get me wrong, the standard lens that come with the camera are unreal, but if your looking for a lens that will zoom in from a distance, then you'll need to buy anoe lens.
This is the first Sony camera I've brought, usually go for the likes of the big camera originators like pentax, but this one really caught my eye.
This camera has multiple options that would suit an advanced user, so you could say set your aperture etc manually or for the beginner they can set it to auto. The camera doesn't technically call it aperture, they call it lightness or something like that. It's quite generic terminology which is good for the average user.
It's a really snazzy camera that the screen even angles, so if your taking photos of the sky or tall buildings, there is no need to squat down to make sure your got a hoot photo, just angle the screen. It's really handy, I've used it so much.
One tiny thing that would have been good to have in the camera would have been the manual focus peep hole thing (i don't know what to call it), so instead of looking at the screen (which is fantastic) but sometimes you just want the ability to look through and focus on something specific when shooting photos manually.
It takes standard SD cards as well as Sony memory cards, so it gives you some options re memory cards. The battery life is good, I've shot 200+ photos in one day,no issues. I did notice that the battery isn't as good if your always using the flash, it drains the battery much much quicker. So if your planning on doing a lot of photos where a flash will be needed, might want to get a second battery. The battery charges really quick, it's not like it takes half a day or over night, would take a hr or two.
It is a 16.2 mega pix camera, of course you can lower the mega pix to around 600 or so.
Over all this camera is a fantastic point and shoot or manual DSLR camera without the bulk and weight of a DSLR camera. Oh and this camera comes In 3 colours, silver, black and pink....don't know why pink, but anyway..
I'd highly recommend this camera to anyone, brilliant quality photos, easy to use love it love it love it. Everything, it's light weight, non bulky when traveling, Doesn't have the view finder peep hole thing for manually taking photos. The battery power goes down a little faster when using the flash.
