Perfect for my daughter with sensory issues – The headphones cancel out noise when in noisy places. The sound is very good, my daughter listens to music from her iPhone. The battery life is excellent. They come in own compact case for protection. Have adjustable fit to suit various head sizes. They are light weight. This product ticked numerous boxes for our needs, would highly recommend. Show details
Don't buy it even if it's for free – The worst ever. The one for $ 20 from Woollies were much better. Very hard to pair. finally paired with my Samsung. Can't pair it with my PC. No worries I would still use it! but; keeps dropping, the battery is fully charged, yet after few minutes not even 5 minutes, The right one is out of battery! very sad while answering calls. keeps dropping,… Read more
and disconnected. This was the worst purchase I've ever made. Now after paying the high cost, I can't use them, Yet Sony cant own their products. I went back to my old Apple AirPods.

Overall they are the best I have tried – The sound quality is excellent and they are not overly sensitive when you touch them or impossible to use like some brands. I bought them on sale for almost half price. I paid $219. They do have a tendency to fall out, especially if you bend over. I also had issues with a pinging in the left ear every five minutes, then the headsets would go quiet… Read more
then reconnect then it would happen again. I rang the customer support line who were helpful and downloaded the latest version of the software. I received an email from Sony with a reference number. This was helpful as I had to call back. The headphones then started unpairing every 10 minutes or so and the volume would go to zero. I rang back the call center and they showed me how to reset the factory settings (I think). Basically, hold down the button on both earbuds whilst they are in the case for 20 seconds. It seems to have fixed it but they said if it didn't they would get a technician to look at them as they also noticed the quality of sound on the phone call was not great. If you get stuck, the Call Centre is good but the chat function was always busy. To be frank, the $25 (also discounted from $50) Sony connected earphones I have are better, it is just they are ugly and look like I have hearing aids for both ears, plus the connection wire is a pain once you have gone wireless. I have tried two other brands and have had issues with them as well. I've tried 3 other brands and these are the best. If I could go back in time, I would not buy any but stick to the ugly ones I have. They should be under $100 to buy.

I dont understand the Hype – I was given these earphones as a parting gift when I left my last job. The first thing is these earphones will not fit my ears - I tried every combination of earbuds in the pack and none felt comfortable or really fit. I have no idea how that could be but that was the case because every other set of earphones I have, haven't been a problem. Most… Read more
of the time they feel like they are about to fall out and often do - even when just walking and doing nothing too active. Also they never really feel loud enough. Recently I travelled on a plane (been a while due to Covid) and I found that they did little to cancel the plane noise despite them being "Noise cancelling". To be honest they seem like rubbish. They are OK if you are just sitting at a desk at home (despite my constant sense they are about to fall out) but other than that I feel they are not worth the money (the sound quality of my wired earphones is so much better and they do a better noise-cancelling job). I have read other really complimentary reviews and don't understand them because that just hasn't been my experience. They look great and the build quality is excellent but my advice is - do not buy these earphones!
Superb sound, superb battery life, excellent all around – I use these daily to listen a broad range of genres of music and I absolutely love them. This review is based on 5 months use. They are extremely comfortable, noise cancelling is effective, ambient sound mode is highly useful also. They offer a clean, crisp sound with ample bass and soaring mids. I've previously had other high end manufacturers… Read more
wireless earbuds and these Sony's just leave them for dead in both sound quality, bass response, clarity and battery life. Excellent phone call quality (at both ends) and you can even just wear one for conferencing etc as they each connect individually to your device instead of transmitting from one earpiece to the other like some others do. Latency is excellent and not an issue. The battery life of these is phenomenal even under full noise cancellation and decent volume. Superb product Control app is simple to use and very effective Having owned a number of other high end manufacturers headphones/earbuds, I simply cannot understand the negative reviews on here for these. They are a head and shoulders above the others (that I've tried). I prefer these now to my overears from a respected German audiophile manufacturer. Can't recommend these highly enough. They are awesome.
Fantastic Sound and excellent battery life – I purchased these to replace another manufacturers earbuds (also starting with S) and have found them to be fantastic. They are extremely comfortable even over long periods and you just pop them into the ear and have instant, high quality sound. These are both a pleasure to use and a pleasure to wear. They have a nice stable and secure fit and… Read more
don't in anyway feel that they may fall out. (In my ear anyway) They have a fantastic battery life that does not drain away senselessly whenever they are not in use unlike some others at a similar price point.
The bluetooth connection is very stable and reliable and has a surprisingly large range before connection issues become apparent. These were not my first choice in my initial purchase of earbuds, but after having returned my original choice of earbud as not fit for purpose and replaced them with these, just wow. These are SOooooo much better.
Pairing is a breeze and the accompanying app is well designed, simple to navigate and use and displays all relevant information logically and informatively. The earbud button functions are easily altered to suit an individuals need using the app (ie. from the box, touching the left hand bud switches between Noise Cancelling and Ambient sound, this can be altered in app so as it may be used for volume control etc.)
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is good but not as effective as that of a set of over-ears, but that is to be expected I feel from such a small device and one that isn't covering an entire ear. For me, I find that it is fine
All in all, I can't recommend these high enough. Perhaps the only down side is a lack of a stated IP rating. Should you treat yourself to a pair of these; you will be very happy.
Positive reviews
Pretty good experience – Very good sound quality. Try bass boost using Sony app with it. Not sure if it's advertised as water-proof, but survived having washed in washing machine in 90 degrees celsius : )
Amazing small noise cancelling earbuds – First, i don't expect it to be working like over the ear ones in term of noise cancelling. As earbuds, I believe it has been best experience for myself and have reasonable but not full noise cancelling. Show details
Perfect – I have tried many wireless earbuds including apple, Bose, sennheiser and nuraloop. These are definitely the best (nuraloop honourable second). Looks, sound quality, functionality, battery, charging case are all amazing. Not recommended for exercise though - nuraloop is great for that! I use for music, calls and travelling. Also a shame can’t have both volume and play/pause on same earpiece. Need to choose. Show details
Negative reviews
Not real good – Good sound, Bluetooth cuts out all the time across multiple devices and battery life has gone to terrible. Not even 12 months old. Don't buy these, for the price they are terrible. Show details
They fall out all the time – Whilst the sound quality and noise canceling are good, there’s no use having them if they fall out all the time. I’ve tried all the spares tips and they’re all crap at staying in. I fixed it by using my partners spare tips from her WF-1000XM4. Poor fit and comfort. How did these get past quality control? Poor Design will drop out of your Ears – After the JB Hi Fi sales rep convinced me that these were “top notch” when it came to performance with ear buds, at a hefty price. I had to return my first pair as one ear bud continually stopped working despite doing a reset a few times. I use the smallest earpiece and a few times when stepping out of the train when I travel to work, an earbud… Read more
fell out of my ear onto the train floor or platform. Other times my buds disconnect while listening to music or YouTube for absolutely no reason then suddenly reconnect. Whilst the sound quality and noise cancelling are really good, the other issues I have had have caused me to consider looking into another make and model. Sony is meant to be the “Mercedes” when it comes to product performance and quality so for the reasons set out in my review, I have given them a low rating. I am very disappointed in their overall quality.

Poor microphone – Excellent Sound quality for listening. The adaptive noise cancelling was ok. The actual noise cancelling was excellent when switched off from adaptive noise cancelling. However poor microphone quality for when taking on the phone. Deal breaker. Show details
Not as good as my $30 ebay buds – After cruising around with my cheap ebay buds, I finally decided to splash out with a pair of these. I'll start with the pros: - great sound when listening to music and can hear callers perfectly - microphone works perfectly for when making calls, no issues there And the negatives.. - Hard to take the buds out of the dock - Heavy in the ears and… Read more
stick out really far - Battery life is pretty average - Noise cancelling is ineffective and essentially just white noise - Easily falls out of ears if walking more that a slow pace (have tried all rubber ends)
I now only use these to make calls at work and have gone back to my old faithfuls.
Worst Product Ever – Worst product ever purchased - the price i paid, the sound quality is terrible. The times I get feedback that the sound quality is terrible for both speaking and listening - awful. Show details
Good sound but uncomfortable, don't stay in, rubbish battery – Uncomfortable in my ears, no matter which of the 6 attachment types/sizes I use; also fall out easily and a bit of stuffing around to get them to seal properly. Battery life is very average. Great sound, but the above points make them rubbish. Show details
can't fit properly – bought to listen to music and podcasts. absolutely cannot fit them properly in my ears, tried all the silicon sizes. also feels very bulky in the ear. the battery life is great.
Don't buy these if you want to move your head in any way when using them – I have the sony over ear headphones that are great. These are not. They don't stay in your ear, stay connected (Iphone 8+) or provide the promised sound or noise cancellation. I have bought aftermarket earbud tips that help a little but I now have an expensive set of earbuds that I can't use if I am not sitting or lying down. very disappointed that sony actually makes these and I will now always consider their competitors' products Show details
Great sound - can't use them – I bought these new from JB Hi-Fi. The pairing, sound quality and functionality are all good. But they will not stay in my ears. They start falling out within less than a minute of putting them in. I have used all 7 pairs of the supplied earbud rubber pieces, but they still fall out. I have had to take over my wife's old airpods -which are… Read more
actually less functional, but they don't fall out. Unfortunately JB Hi-Fi couldn't help. So although they work in terms o sound and connectivity, they are in practice nearly useless.
Great sound, poor fitment, diabolically bad for phone calls – My partner bought these for 50% usage with phone calls. In this regard they are almost useless where there is background noise. In most circumstances background noises are amplified and seem to muddle the voice of the wearer for the person on the other end of the call. The noises (like wind, passing cars and people chatting or especially birds)… Read more
become louder and sharper than the users' voice, forcing the other party to ask for repeating of what was said.
Utterly frustrating. Sony replaced the earbuds after much back and forth. No Change. Denied that there was a problem.
These should not be sold as being for phone call use. The place you need them most (in public places) is where they are most useless. In a private setting they are fine but you don't need to use them then!!!
They also sit out a fair bit meaning the weight tends to wiggle them out with movement. They may fit some wearers well but in this case they are not great, can't even compare with my Jabra 65t or even my 75t's. They don't seem lock confidently into the ear canal, which I believe is by design but I can't say it feels great.
Otherwise they have great battery life and I love the fact you can use either left or right independently, great for podcasts and phone calls (ha!) when one ear gets tired or sore. I wish my Jabra's could do this!!
Oh, and the ANC does work very well for listening only. if only where was a 'dumb' mode that somehow disabled all algorithmic interference when making calls.
Clearly there is some design flaw that makes a software update-able fix impossible. Surely Sony is fully aware of this issue! I also Can't understand why all the reviews by popular youtubers miss this flaw!
Summary: If all you want them for is to listen to music in non-bouncy situations and noisy environments then give them a go, HOWEVER I gotta say, check out the Jabra Elite 75t if you don't NEED ANC and you want on par and more natural sound quality with way better fit.
JMHO YMMV
Disappointing for a premium product – Sound acceptable, although nothing to rave about, noise-cancelling partial and weak with treble input, earbuds fall out easily, charging points broke after a few uses and unit was not replaced by Sony even though under warranty. Show details

Disappointment for a Sony fan – After some difficulty I managed to pair with my Samsung Galaxy A3O but found it impossible to pair with the iPad. After an hour just gave up. Otherwise sound is good and its reasonably comfortable. Don't wear them bush walking or running because one WILL fall out and you will not find it. Of you want noise cancelling buy an over ear headset, ear buds can't do noise cancelling well. This was a major disappointment for a serious Sony fan. Show details
Good quality earphones some issues – I own both these and the over ear wh 1000s straight up if you want quality get the over ears , if you want portability then these work well . Problems I ride motorbikes and these protrude just a bit you much physically to wear a helmet over top , granted these are not made for that Application and There’s a lot of tech jammed in there but being… Read more
that little bit shallower would be so much better
Great range of silicone ear tips to find a good fit , however the little bit of bulk and weight makes them susceptible to falling out .
Biggest issue not sure if software or hardware but with phone in pocket will drop out audio streaming/playback constantly, I have the over ear wh1000s and had no issues at so I wonder if it’s a hardware issue with the limited size of a receiver .
Next issue is the battery life , I’m not going to beat this up too much due to size but only get about 4 -6 hours before Needing charging as opposed to 20+ hours on over headphones
Great little case with magnets to suck earphones into right place needs longer charge cable but that’s every manufacturer Also good pocket size
Would be amazing if Sony made a “lost earbud function” when you turn It on it makes headphone beep or something to find it down back of couch
Bit of a let down – Hopped on this product after seeing some rave reviews online but have been quite disappointed with the quality of the product. In particular, I get intermittent audio issues and microphone issues where I can't hear people on the other side of the call and they hear fuzzy noises from my side. Other than that though, for pure music listening, this is a decent product with good noise cancelling.
Keep falling out of ears – These are by far the best sounding earbuds but they are not practical at all. No matter which eartips I try but they keep falling out of ears. Secondly, the call quality , even after the updates has been terrible while commuting with no wind. Returned them and would be buying something else that suits android. Show details
Bit of let down – Sound quality & noise cancelling, average to good. Despite changing between all the provided ear buds. I could not find a pair that felt both fully secure in the ear canal, and comfortable, at the same time. As a result I would not recommend wearing them for an extended period. Show details
Useless for phone calls - expensive – Fantastic for music streaming, really good sound, but devastated that $400 headphones are absolutely useless for making phone calls with an apple iPhone (11Pro), people can't hear you and it constantly crackles and drops in and out, I have tried pairing and unpairing 20+ times and all different ways possible, makes no difference, should've bought airpods but I fell for their marketing on this one. worst sony product I've ever bought – >sound keeps breaking and i have to keep the phone close to my head to have a stable connection. >can't make phone calls with it >connection lost every few seconds P.S. tried it with 2 different mobile barnds and using the sony recommended app. a total waste of money (which is a lot! very expensive but I thought it worth it, I was wrong) Show details
Sony WF-1000XM3 review – Good Audio quality for listening Songs Difficult to pair with Windows 10 Not a great microphones Bit heavy to your ears Expensive price I m not satisfied with the purchase , There are many flaws in the product, i found only ANC is very good Show details
Left earbud died after 6 months – These have been awesome up until the last 2 days when the left earbud stopped working or charging altogether. The sensor is extremely sensitive (maybe too much) on the side and activates if lightly brushed which can be annoying whne touched by accident. Teh sound is perfect and as drum and bass head I've really enjoyed the suprisingly crisp bass on an in ear earbud. Show details
Absolutely great - BUT – These are a marvel of technology. I love just about everything about them. The fit is amazingly good, the noise cancellation (in my ears) is stunning and beats my other high end full cover noise cancelling headphones that are 5 years old hands down. I am not going to comment on the sound quality, I am happy with what comes out of $10 headphones,… Read more
so I refrain.
The accompanying app is ok, fun to play with for sure and some of the setting in there are really useful. Some are not and I really don't like that the app constantly pushes some elusive (chargeable) 3D music streaming services.
This is my first pair of Bluetooth headphones (actually, my first Bluetooth device full stop) that properly connects and stays connected and does not require constant fiddling and re-booting and re-pairing or whatever. Pair them (really simple) and that's it. They turn on automatically when you put them in your ear. Whatever you play pauses automatically when you take one of them out and if they stay idle a bit they turn themselves off.
The functionality of what happens when you touch the sides of them is customisaable and that too works. well.
I love the different ambient noise levels you can set which allows for different profiles to let different amounts of noise through. Let more noise through when I am driving, cut me off from the rest of the world when I am in a train. And everything in between. A great feature that works a treat. Motion sensors even switch automatically between the different modes if you want to.
So, close to perfect for listening and noise cancellation. BUT ..
There is however a huge BUT. These headphones absolutely suck for making phone calls. Unless you are in a very very quiet room, the other party will not be able to understand you. I guess the excellent noise cancellation requires excellent microphones - and they pick up every little noise that is around you and amplify it to the point where the background noise comes out louder on the other end than my voice. I am surprised that Sony cannot turn those mics down when the phone is used to, well, make a phone call.
Believe me, I wanted this to work so badly, but no matter what I tried, nothing made a difference. Noise cancelling on, off, paired with my phone, a different one. Calling different phones, trying all the settings - nothing helped. Googling around then quickly showed that I am not the only one with that problem. People love those headphones but cannot use them to make calls. It is such a shame.
Fortunately my retailer has agreed to take them back, so will part with them in the next few days. And the research for a replacement begins. (ARGH - I thought I was done with that).
Get them if you want them for noise cancellation and great features (and good audio quality so I read). But if you intend to make calls with them, those are not the ones for you.
These things are awesome! – Honestly couldnt believe how good these are. The sound quality is amazing the noise cancelling works perfectly & they are extremely comfortable. Im really happy with this product so much that the next headphones I will be purchasing will be from sony as well. Show details
Bad product, Bad service, Zero Star! – The firmware update 1.3.0 forever abort itself. Call the support centre, just tell me to initialise. Reset, Initalise, delete the app, reinstall , never work. One of the technical staff ( heavy Indian accent ) tell me to wait and disconnect. Ask for return , he told me to wait for another 24 hours. I know AirPods is bad but I truly regret to buy this. Iphone user, keep away with this product! Show details
Near perfect true wireless earbuds with fantastic sound and ANC – Having previously owned a pair of BeatsX and Plantronics Backbeat GO410, I was looking to move to a true-wireless headset without a neck band, which would always get caught on my shirt collar. possible in one package.
Pro's: - Surprisingly comfortable, especially with Comply Foam tips. Can't seem to make them fall out either. - Best sound I have had on a pair of bluetooth ear buds. Easily better than the Go410 and BeatsX. NB: like all ear buds getting a proper seal is vital. - Good batter life - Fantastic ANC (for earbuds), easily better than G0410's - Useful app, with ability to manually tune sound to your liking - Super fast re-pairing, they are ready to go by the time you have them in your ears. - no sync issues with video (Netflix, youtube etc) - Independent ear buds, can use either 1 at a time or both together. - ACC sound great for iPhone users - Ambient sound control feature is great (touch and hold left ear bud)
Cons: - No volume control, although to be honest I'm not sure how they would implement this without it being annoying or involving lots of pushing on the ear buds, which would likely be painful after awhile. Also thanks to my Apple Watch, changing volume on the fly is easy. - On that tapping ear buds does create a bit of noise in your ears, so I tend to avoid switch songs this way. - Wind noise can be a little disconcerting at times. - The supplied ear tips don't fit/provide adequate seal (but none ever do for me), so buying Comply foam tips are a must/additional cost. - Adaptive sound control requires constant GPS on phone, which is a battery drain and privacy concern.
Overall, I love these earbuds. I don't really use them much for phone calls, and when I do I'm normally in a quiet environment so haven't had issues with microphone that other have reported. Similarly the lack of IP rating isn't a concern as I don't use these for exercise. If your looking for a pair of true-wireless buds with top-notch sound and ANC, look no further (4 outta 5 stars).
UPDATE: After a month of so of use, I'm going to downgrade the review to 4 out of 5 stars. The sound quality and ANC are fantastic, but the fit just didn't quite work for my ears. That and the buggy app on iOS, and hit and miss touch controls has taken a bit of the gloss off them, especially with the new AirPods Pro, which are excellent and probably now the new top dogs
