Sony WH-CH400 Wireless Headphones
VerifiedMPN: WH-CH4003 reviews
Had them 5 years, very happy with them – I use them daily for music, audiobooks and phone calls. PROS: good price (I bought them at Officeworks, I think they were about $50) Good sound quality. Have a built in microphone so can be used for phone calls. You can answer phone calls easily while wearing them. Sit on the ears, not in or over, so they allow some air circulation into the ear, which I find good to prevent sweating and itching. The headband can be pulled to be more open or closed, so you can find a pressure on your ears you’re comfortable with. The ear padding is very soft and comfortable. Easy to use controls, you can feel with your fingers without removing the headphones. Lightweight The wireless range is good, seems to be about 20 or 30 feet. They last a good length of time, I’d say at least 10 hours, before they need recharging. CONS: if you like a light pressure on your ears, the compromise is that the headphones aren’t being held on by much, they’re fine for walking around, and I’ve worn them while doing things around the house and garden. They wouldn’t be suitable for running. The headband has no padding, and I have a piece of black packing foam attached to make them more comfortable. OVERALL: I’d buy them again
Purchased at Officeworks Physical store.
Great value headphones – I bought these to replace a cheap set of Bluetooth in-ear headphones to listen to my iPad at night as not to disturb the wife while she watches her trashy reality TV shows. The Good: Really decent sound quality. I listen to some intricate heavy metal sometimes and I can hear the subtleties and appreciate the music better with the headphones. For not being the ANC type, I don’t need to buy a set because the sound quality is that good. They are also small enough to fit in a small bag for flights, battery lasts for days (20+ Hours is claimed and I can’t dispute that) and seem durable enough to last a while.
The not-so-good: They would probably fall off if you decided to go for a vigorous jog, but walking and gym work would be okay. Not being ANC headphones, if like me you like to listen to Slayer really loud, just be aware so will the people around you in close proximity.
Overall: very happy with the purchase, no regret and recommend. Sure, there are heaps of more expensive sets out there that probably have greater sound quality, but for the price ($79.00 at Big W) you can’t go wrong if you need something decent.
Purchased in at Big W for $79.
Fine Technology but bad design – I bought these to replace my lost Sony ch500 headphones which I loved. The headband and fit on these is no good. I figure they have the same electrical guts as the ch500 which were great - easy connectivity, battery indicator, clear sound - but the size of the actual headphone and the adjustable headband is just a massive misstep for Sony in terms of design. You just cant get them to sit right and they look odd when you finally get them in a position that's semi-comfortable. I paid under $50 for them and still use them for my "at home headphones", so I guess they suit my purpose but I should've checked them out in person before buying them online.
