Not what we expected when we bought it – Have to admit when we bought this tv nearly two years ago we thought it was great, however in the last three months it started freezing and rebooting now at the stage of two or three times a week and it sometimes won’t connect to the sound bar. We have done everything recommended to rectify problem but as it is out of warranty we will now just replace it. I don’t know if it will be another Sony. Show details

Never Ever Again – Disgusting customer service. No support for any product that is not brand new. The only company that I sincerely believe thinks customers are expendable commodities that have no impact on their business. Do not deserve any support at all.

Great TV and features – We updated our old Sony with this one in Feb 2021 and we chose to stay with the Sony brand as we very much enjoyed the old one... still working by the way after 10+ years. The service at JB HiFi was excellent, we did try other retailers but we got the best deal and service through them. Easy to install and we are very happy with the picture quality and all the apps etc. Regularly updates itself which is great. Recommend Sony definitely!  Show details

TeleVision and games should be standard There’s no better brand that has connectivity to all devices Air-Play google etc and every Sony tv has the same operating system making it easier and the layout On-Screen And with the amount we spend on TV Television’s it should be included Twin Picture Picture & Picture PIP Picture In Picture Needs to be one person for unboxing as I live alone and it means everything takes longer

Great TV – This is Sony's smart (google) TV. The operating system is quick and caters for all apps with ability to download extra apps with ease. It easily connects with my phone and is able to screen mirror youtube from my phone without the need for chromecast. The interface is intuitive. The remote buttons are slightly sensitive, but you get used to it.… Read more

Ports are sufficient with four HDMI ports and two USB ports. Picture quality in my opinion is excellent. I would highly recommend this product.

Unreliable, unstable connection to android apps – Constantly disconnects from apps like Netflix, YouTube and Prime TV. Or I get the swirling red circle of death when trying to open the apps. I've tried all of the usual bs fixes these big companies spout, but nothing works. I've never experienced these problems when accessing the same apps on my Android wifi tablet nor from my pc. Wish I had now bought a Samsung.  Show details

software is up to date, of course it was, so I was referred to Sony service in Perth, that is completely hopeless I was unable to contact them and unable to leave massage, there was announcement massage bank full. So I have contacted JB HiFi, after conversation they decided to sent replacement TV, unfortunately my joy was short lived. More problems with new one wouldn't load any APPS, more calls and more waiting, finally I was in touch with Above Electronics, but they refuse to come for repairs because TV was wall mounted. In the end I had take day off to help technician to remove it. After replacing main control panel and loading new software from memory stick TV still refuse to work. contacted JB HiFI again, they agreed to refund my money as no other brand TV was available. I have received full refund 31/12/2020. SONY product I will never touch again and will never endorse it. I am glad that is is finally over, long and stress full process, and I must add also costly, because loss off income to top all this. JB HiFi was extremely helpful and professional, I am extremely happy with staff that help me to deal with all this. Thank you Cannington team.

Love this TV – This TV is amazing. Had the TV for 3 months now and all i can say is smart TVs have come a long way since my last one 6 years ago. What i like best is the apps that allow you to set up your TV the way you like it. The picture quality is fantastic. Super easy to set up and for the price is has functions that the more expensive Samsungs have.  Show details

Very impressive 4K TV. Picture Clarity and operation is Excellent – Bought this 85" Sony after much research and many visits to stores to compare. The picture quality and clarity are second to none in my opinion. We have had the TV for a month now. It is an amazing TV and we are very happy with our purchase. Have had many friends over who are in awe of the size and clarity of the TV. We often have a 4K silent… Read more

nature video playing on the TV with quiet music playing over the HEOS system in the house. Looks unreal and sounds unreal. Had the TV delivered by HN. (It is a monster and weighs in at 68Kg in the box) Set up of the TV was a breeze, only thing was the supplied power cord as too short for mounting on the wall and was replaced. It would be fine if you were mounting on the supplied legs. We have had a couple of small issues with sound over free to air TV but seems OK now. Early days but very impressed so far. Mate wants the identical TV so just spoke to HN and they have one in stock.

Dodgy audio, random issues – Update 4 June 2021 Audio regularly drops out for half a second - sometimes once a minute, sometimes once every 10 seconds. Sometimes it drops out for 5 to 20 seconds. Rebooting the TV seems to resolve it temporarily. However it usually starts doing it all again within a few hours. This happens both with TV speakers as well as soundbar, and… Read more

happens consistently across live TV as well as streaming apps.

Update 16 December 3 new audio issues occurring.

1. For the past few weeks, my soundbar no longer has audio when turning on. IE. Turn the TV on, soundbar turns on automatically, however there's no sound. This was never an issue before the last firmware update. The only way I've found to rectify this is to power cycle the soundbar.... every....single....time.

2. The sound drops out completely for about 10 seconds every 30mins or so. Occasionally I also see the soundbar display light up with the audio format (eg DD+ Atmos), which indicates the signal is dropping out. Occurs while watching Free to Air or streaming.

3. I've noticed small glitchy audio from time to time. Audio sounds a little wavey.

__________________________________ Update 18 November No longer experiencing most issues. Sony support simply referred me back to JBHifi. JBHifi were far more helpful and were readily willing to provide a new unit. (Honestly, it's now made me appreciate the value of purchasing via a good retailer) However shortly after the issues simply ceased. So I've kept the original unit. I'm guessing a firmware update came through. That was about 4 weeks ago.

The only issues that I've experienced since are: TV Guide frozen twice TV Guide still displays the incorrect time (daylight savings).

Have decided not to change my original rating (1 star), because I'm still disappointed in having purchased a Sony TV with such significant issues - not to mention the run around from Sony customer service.

__________________________________ Update 20 Oct Audio issue is now much worse after factory reset. After watching Free to Air for 5mins, it now drops sound every other second, making regular tv completely unwatchable. Power cycling doesn't fix the issue at all now, not even temporarily.

No followup response yet from Sony. Complaint was lodged by phone and email 19 Oct.

__________________________________ Purchased 24 September 2020.

Since purchase:

Audio from Free-to-Air has been consistently faulty. After about 20mins, the audio begins to glitch, with tiny dropouts every other second. After another 10 or so minutes, it starts to become worse to the point that dialogue is unable to be understood. This occurs with the TV speakers or Soundbar. The only way to fix has been to power cycle the TV off - every 30mins or so. Weirdly, audio from apps (streaming) is ok. Factory reset does not resolve the issue.

Other Random Issues After selecting a TV program from the guide, the TV started to keep changing channels automatically. It couldn't be stopped. Had to power cycle the TV off. Upon doing so, TV did not turn back on. Had to disconnect the power completely, then was able switch it back on. So far this has happened once...but who knows why.

TV Guide often stops responding if scrolling through the channel rows too quickly. Have to exit the guide and reopen it for it to function again.

Audio sync (eg. With lips) went completely out of sync...as in by several seconds. This has happened once so far.

TV Guide doesn't adjust to daylight savings. Not a huge issue but being in Queensland, the time is showing 1hr ahead. Yet all other times references on the TV are correct. (The TV region is set to Australia QLD)

Matters have been reported to Sony. Will keep this post updated as things progress. It's just very disappointing to be having these issues, and having to waste time on such an expensive TV.

Great TV in the under $2000 range – The Sony 55inch 9000H is a great TV for most households. It delivers a great picture quality due to the contrast ratio, brightness, and colour gamut. Very little to no motion blur, input lag is low which is awesome for gamers. The 9000H is great for for HDR content, both games and movies. However, if you have a large room get the 9500 instead, due to having more dimming zones. Show details

worse TV ever the Sony Bravia - XD-65R9000H- avoid – this TV, just bought 26th September, two weeks on, lyes idle and unusable, there is NO decent, clear setup book or a troubleshooting manual, bought the 26th September 2020, today the 16th October 2020, on the 16th October, my review on the JBhi fi site was rejected :), JBhifi has questioned when this unit was bought and Sony have not called… Read more

us, the sound quality gets worse the longer the TV is on, the HDMI out won't connect to the Foxtel through the Bose soundbar- the closed captions are so out of sync, it's laughable. I will be very careful when buying in the future, ANYthing from JBhifi seeking clearer exp[lanation of the warranty and I will definitely avoid a sony TV, forever. I understand that these are electronic and can have issues but not immediately, they shouldn't and not this bad with no support, that is my gripe, that Sony contacted by JB HiFi on the 16th "Apparently" have failed to contact me - if their goods were so good why is their warranty department so busy?
