Beware of this company and it's worst company policy in billing system. With the excuse of so called terms-condition, charged for almost 21-22 unused days. Discontinued service on 9th of the month and upon asked for refund for entire month, given the excuse of terms-condition signed that the charge shall be applicable for entire month and no… Read more

refund.

When compared to other internet plans in the market, really found that these guys anyway charged you more even for 20 MBPS plan compare to the market, whereas other companies gives you at least 25-50 mbps in the same price.

Super worst and never recommended to anyone else

Spintel is not honest in passing on the NBN September 2025 speed boost. I signed up the Spintel 250/25M plan in Jun with a "life time discount of 9.95aud", so my monthly cost is $80. Singtel sent me a confirmation email after my registration. Post the NBN speed boost, my speed became 500/50M although NBN Co. has announced that 250/25M should be… Read more

automatically upgraded to 750/50M. I thought it might take Spintel longer to boost my speed to 750/50M so I didn't follow up with them.

Then two weeks later, it came an email saying that my plan cost will increasing by $5 per month starting from the next billing cycle, while I was still on 500/50M.

I rang up the Spintel for clarification. The technical support lady on the line was quite rude and she was either lying on purpose or she doesn't know what she was talking about.

She firstly said that it was up to the NBN Co. to decide what speed tier I should be after the speed boost. So it was NBN Co. who decided that my NBN connection can only achieve a max speed of 500/50M, that's why I was only boosted to 500/50M. I told her that I have the "fiber to premise" connection so I'm certain my connection can sustain a higher speed. Then she started saying that I signed up on 500/50M back in Jun so I wasn't entitled to a speed boost. I told her that I have the confirmation email and the past bills from Spintel all stated that my signed up deal was 250/25M and I can forward them to her. She kept saying that's not true according to the "system". After that, she somehow changed her tone saying, "what's past is past!" and she offered her "help" to boost my speed to 750/50M since I have been with them since Jun, at no extra cost as the current 750/50M speed tier also costs $80. I asked if that's the promotion cost and would that cost stay unchanged in the future, she refused to confirm it. After I confirmed that I'd like to boost to 750/50M, she called my back a moment later saying that I would lost my "life time dicount"...

I would not mind if it was Spintel's own decision not to pass on the NBN speed boost (250/25 to 750/50) in full. It has the right to make its own business decision. I would move on to find a better deal if that's the case. But apparently Sinptel is not honest about their activity and treated the customers without respect, they just think can charge higher fees without telling the clients the truth of not passing on the full NBN Co. speed boost.

It's not a decent business model. Also, this specific technical support representative definitely needs a proper training, hope that's not the same for the other support representatives.

Best ISP out there – Low prices, Excellent Customer service in which you talk to an actual Human (Mary is extremely helpful) and Very reliable connection. If you need a good alternative to slow ADSL with a 4G home connection (pictured below) Spintel is a must. Went from a 2mbps connection in rural VIC to 150 off peak and 90 on peak, could not be happier. Only downside is 4G plans are limited to 500GB. An unlimited or 1000GB plan would be nice.

A better plan to suit me. Excellent! – I needed a better mobile phone plan to bundle with my NBN. Each Spintel staff member, first Teresa, then Donnalyn and now Kim, gave such great service. Kim helped me choose a new mobile plan to suit, and I'm very happy to have the mobile plans updated. Thank you for your swift action, Kim.

Great internet connection and great service – I've had a home Mobile Broadband service with Spintel for 8 months now, and have had only 1 time where there were issues. The connection has been great for working from home or streaming multiple videos at the same time. The only issue I had was today, my internet wouldn't connect. The call took a little while to get to talk to someone, but once I… Read more ·  1

Fixed a Problem for me – I had poor reception from my telstra account and decided to move to Optus via Spintel. Excellent company and the better coverage has fixed my problem. Gretchen whom I dealt with regarding activation was excellent and a delight to deal with. Seems like a very good company.

Smooth – I contacted Spintel activation team on Thursday 27th June, Frances answered me and stayed with me while trying the sim for my broadband on 2 of my modems, when it didn't work ,he generated an order foe a modem from spintel, was very clear about explaining everything and made it so smooth. I received the modem the following Monday and it worked in a minute . Frances called me on Tuesday to follow up and that was very thoughtful of him.

I don't recommend the Spintel Mobile Broadband – Very slow internet speed in the evenings. I live in Hawthorn so the reception should be good but I guess there is insufficient bandwidth for all the users at that time of the day. I have tried contacting Spintel (who use Optus mobile network), but very difficult to get any response I finally received a response from Spintel but there seemed to be no solution to my poor internet service so I have cancelled my Spintel broadband account Show details

AVOID This Company. Disgusting customer service. I got 5G Wireless Broadband on the basis it showed that am under 5G coverage. Save a few $ but the service is far below average – Really bad service in terms of speeds and reliability. The customer service is patchy and slow in responding on the chats. Also the technical service is also not always available and mostly circular in what looks like pretending to solve the problem.

$49 a month for unlimited 4G AND I can take my router with me when I move. Speeds are 30Mps. I can’t tell the difference from the iiNet 5G I had to hand back bc it won’t cover my new address. The thing about mobile broadband is it either works where you are or it doesn’t. You can test it and return if it if you’re not happy.

Well it sounds like a good deal for their mobile SIM plan - $14/month with 25GB data. But wait til you hear about my story - I waited for a week til received the Sim card. customer service number, as expected they couldn't do much from their end, instead they would just diverted the case to the network supplier and technical department! Now I am living practically without a mobile number, ( cos after I have ported number, there is no way to retrieve it back on any other network)! So if spintel doesn't resolve this issue. I would just have to get a new number! What a disgrace ! It is just seems like a scam! Cos as australian customer, we are powerless in dealing with such [Content Removed] company and useless customer service!

Policy makes it hard to become a customer – I signed up for Spintel 4G wireless home broadband after I had confirmed with them that I could use my own TP-Link (unlocked) modem that I had tested on another Optus based network. I did not want to rent the 2 options they had because they were not suitable to me and I did not want that ongoing cost. When the sim arrived I inserted and activated… Read more

it but got an Optus wholesale message saying could not use the sim in a modem not supplied by the provider. I contacted support and they informed that it would not work because it was not compatible which is not technically correct. Their policies dictate that you cannot use hardware that has not been supplied by them or Optus directly. They declined to explore whitlisting my device for use on the network. If like me, you have limited choices in getting away from Telstra ADSL, Spintel/ Optus are doing a good job of not winning customers.

Don't trust the direct debit system, it's buggy – Currently not happy with the billing department. They failed to take the direct debit on time, forcing me to process the payment manually to ensure that I wasn't disconnected or restricted. 24hrs later they took the direct debit leaving me with nothing. to lodge an indemnity claim. Rang the bank, they said "that is a new one, sounds like they are lazy and just passing the buck!".

Several days later, still waiting for my money to go back into my account, and now in debt having had to borrow money that I can't afford to repay just to be able to eat toast and noodles for the next 10 days when I get paid next. Really great when you are gluten intolerant and can only buy the regular ones because my one local shop doesn't stock much gluten free items. Thank god I bought a 45pk of toilet paper recently, I bet that's going to be just about enough to last until I get paid next. 39 rolls should be just enough for 10 days one would think?

As per performance, the connection speed is great when only one person is using it, but cannot handle one person gaming, one person on Facebook and one person streaming video. For whatever reason, the modem gives priority to the VR headset and not to the laptop which is a wired connection. As someone who understands IT very well, this is not right. The hard wired should be getting the better speed with no lag or packet loss compared to wifi...

So helpful, patient, spoke to a human within 3 minutes – Long story short, the modem didn't work, however the SpinTel rep worked with me for half an hour trying to fix. They are sending me another one so fingers crossed. They use the Optus network for a better price than Optus offers. Took me 3 hours of waiting in a call centre twice (yes, total 6 hours) for Optus to reply only for them to tell me to subscribe to nbn rather than use mobile broadband which of course is a higher price!, Show details

NBN service overall in a good level – The price is in a competitive level compares to others. Speed sometimes can be fluctuant during peak hours but most of the time it works well. Not sure why they have so many positive reviews – I have had nothing but issues with my 5G service. In fact I’ve never had 5G service and every time I speak to them it’s some issue with Optus but yet they never offer me a refund for the service I am paying for but no receiving. an upload speed of 2mbps.

I’m now being told if the service isn’t back and working soon I can ask for a dispute to be raised for my bill. My dispute is my numerous calls trying to get my service sorted. I shouldn’t have to wait to see how bad it can get. AVOID. I’ll be going elsewhere!

UPDATE: So it appears they try to meditate before you post your review therefore potentially blocking the true reviews. Given they have just again given me lip service. My review still stands. Too little too late.

Looks like a lot of the reviews are for their mobile plans. Check out https://au.trustpilot.com/review/spintel.net.au for reviews of their internet. This company is terrible, be very careful signing up with them, the solution they have offered me is so unreasonable. And they don’t even call back when promised. AVOID at all costs!
