The mattress is not safe – After looking for a travel cot for weeks and weeks I settled on this one. It is a bit tricky to set up with only one zip opening and needing to velcro the mattress in. But my biggest concern is that it bows when baby is in and the soft part of the mattress is not flush along the hard part which I don’t believe is suds safe as the mattress isn’t firm in all spots because it’s lifting. Show details

Small, light and comfy – Only used the bassinet so far but baby likes it. Set up was easy on the whole but the Velcro attachments for the mattress are finicky and I expect will be very frustrating for my wife with her shorter arms. I’m not sure if they are really necessary. The bassinet, but not cot uses two tent style poles that are pretty easy and quick. The Velcro… Read more

attachments mean you must use the custom sheets, I bought two pairs. (Different sizes for bassinet and cot). Having to do the Velcro bits every time the sheet gets wet or dirty is a bit annoying, but worth it for the light easy set up. There’s no cover on the mattress and sheets are thin, but the mattress is hydrophobic so far we’ve been able to wipe it down success with a wet cloth, but it is accumulating stains.

With the bassinet set up, the bag, spare sheets etc can be easily stored underneath, which is handy. Haven’t packed it down yet, but looks easy. The bag is small and the whole kit is very light.

I’m a bit worried the mesh is too big to keep mozzies out, so a mozzie net that just covers the top won’t be sufficient for protection if using outdoors.

Pro tip: putting the mattress in and taking it out, fold into a Z-shape first, only way it fits easily (will make sense when it’s in your hands).

Incredibly difficult and frustrating – Yes it is quick to set up the frame but that’s about as far as the ease goes. The effort and patience required trying to hook the mattress onto the annoying hooks attached to the legs is massive. And you have to do it otherwise the baby’s weight pushes the sides up causing unsafe sleeping conditions. The mattress doesn’t sit flat due to the folds.… Read more

Then there’s the painful process of trying to collapse the legs. I’ve injured my thumbs attempting to push down the levers and the only way I can do it is with a hammer which is ridiculous. This is NOT a quick easy installation as promised and if I could get my money back I would.

Very happy with purchase – Very happy with our portacot. Looks great in black, easy to put up and down. The bassinet option was why I got this one and it’s great. Our 4mth old daughter has slept peacefully in it. The portacot lives in our car and we have used a number of times whilst just visit friends during the day, love not feeling that I need to rush home for Bub to have a sleep in her home bassinet - she is just as comfy in this. Show details
