The while process, from enquiring online, to getting the shed installed was easy. Communication was good, if at times repeated (I got asked for the same info a few times but no big deal). The wooden floor base is very solid and was great for attaching adhesive vinyl tiles. The team were very helpful and friendly, from the sales reps to the installers. Id highly recommend them to anyone looking for a shed.

and then having a site visit to confirm the quote it was very straight forward. To be honest when discussing the quote the team offered a lot of thoughts and solutions to complete the works within my price range (given the slope in the yard was a bite more than expected upon site visit). It never felt like they wanted to pad the quote out and overall aimed to provide me the maximum value on the works which made me feel very comfortable with what I was paying and where the shed would be placed.
The automated text/email system to book in a date that suited me was also handy and made it easy to plan when works would take place. I did call the company to clarify some details at one point and it was nice chatting to a local operator who was able to flawlessly answer all the questions I threw at him.
The guys who did the slab and install of the shed were friendly and respectful in leaving the yard without any mess (any leftover concrete from the slab works was collected/removed when they did the shed install) They communicated what was going on really well and completed all the works in a timely manner. I never once felt the need to supervise what was going on as they were professional at all times and they only checked in if they needed something, or to let me know the works were complete etc. Concrete works for the slab maybe took maybe half a day and then a week later the shed install onto the slab was done in under an hour. The way they prebuild your shed to your dimensions allows the install to move a lot quicker as 75% of it is delivered already assembled.
While I appreciate my job was probably a bit easier (being in the open yard etc) the guys I spoke to indicated they took on all sorts of random shed/slab placements so I have no qualms in recommending them to other people who might have a more challenging location for a shed install. Either way they always seemed up front about timeframes and job expectations so I could just go about my day while they carried on doing their works.

with me with the numerous emails and photos back and forth with questions and finalising dimensions, doors, materials etc. Even when Michael was on leave for 3 days during this process and someone else stepped in during that time, the process was seamless. I didn't have to bring the other person up to speed - the fill in guy had clearly read all the emails. The guys who did the installation were fabulous to deal with too. I can't speak highly enough of them. I have attached some photos of what they built for us. The price was good and the lead time to manufacture was about 3 weeks........and can I just call out the shovel racks. I have never seen such a good design. I fitted out the interiors and I can only say that I was stunned at how much capacity a narrow shed has. I simply cut down to size our existing IKEA shelving to fit the new dimensions. Easy. Everything is now in easy reach.
Manufacturing fault = customer's problem – Shed was installed with the latch upside down, meaning I have to use the padlock upside down. Advised SteelChief but instead of offering to fix it they claim it's industry standard to install it the wrong way. Wow, other shed manufacturers beg to differ. Even Bunnings get this right. under the bus when you point out a problem. Now I have to pay out of my own pocket to have a tradie come out and fix it. I can't recommend them to family/friends, as the customer experience is poor.
UPDATE in 2024. A storm demolished the previous SteelChief shed from 2023. The insurer engaged SteelChief for a replacement slab and shed. SteelChief's concretor decided to pour the slab in the rain (so the floor has rain marks), and without the required wall recess as requested prior to pouring. We had to pay a builder to come out and cut the concrete after it had set. Then SteelChief sent the wrong sized shed, despite agreeing to send the same size as previously ordered. When this was pointed out, they refused to accept they'd made a mistake and take it back, so we had to pay for a whole new shed AGAIN. Amazing. When their installers came out the third time to finally install the correct shed they had the nerve to ask if they could take the wrong size shed away. Did they think they could hoodwink me out of a shed for free so they could make some beer money on the side selling it themselves? Or were they going to try and sell it to another customer as if it was "new".
The original review was 2 stars. Update review they now drop to 1 star. Sheds are OK - the service from SteelChief is hot garbage.
Solid shed, quick installation great customer service – Before using Steelchief I bought an EasyShed as it was cheaper 6x3m, Massive mistake. from Steelchief called me back the next morning. Stratco sent me a quote 6 weeks later. Lorraine was very helpful and helped me design a slightly custom sized shed that would suit my needs. I even got a free T Handle door handle and skylight as part of a promotion they had running. A few weeks later my new shed was fabricated and within a day their installers had the shed installed without issue. Unlike EasyShed Steelchief sheds come as large pre assembled panels with strong frames. I got the steel frame option as well for extra strength. I’m very happy with this shed it is solid, looks good and the doors and handle operate beautifully. So far it has held up to very high winds without issue and a few decent rains without leaks, I siliconed the inside base as Steelchief recommended to prevent water from seeping underneath as would happen with any shed without sealing (installed on a slab). Very highly recommended Steelchief, they may not be the cheapest sheds available but they won’t fall apart on you and even if you install it yourself you will have little issue doing so as the panels are pre assembled unlike cheaper sheds like EasyShed which was a 4 day nightmare Steelchief also helped me with me slab which I had done by a company called Apollo Corporate Services from hipages, it was so badly done I had to demand my money back and Steelchief gave me the number of someone they use a lot in my area who came out and fixed the slab for me.

Careful when dealing with this group – I did a quote on their website that returned a price of $3400 not including delivery or customisation. Then the "official" quote was emailed. The shed was $4000 + customisation + delivery. Got a pretty dismissive response to my enquiry as well. Seems pretty sneaky to me. Avoid this place.
Poor customer service and care for their clients – I would strongly advise against using SteelChief for your shed needs. After paying a significant amount of money to have my shed installed, now five weeks later it is still leaking every time it rains. fixed), I still have a leaking shed. They are now not responding to phone calls or emails, which is reflection of their care for their customers. There are multiple companies that provide similar sheds, who are comparativelty priced. I suggest using them to save you the hassle and pain
Garden Shed – Good job. Kept informed throughout the process. Installer told me the concreteing wasn't the best & the would be back with silicone to fill the gaps. He said he would speak to his boss. Never heard whether it was done or not! A bit disappointing but otherwise very happy with the team l dealt with.

Very happy with the shed. Communication throughout our whole process was great. There was a bit of co-ordination between diferent tradies before or cement and shed could be done, and SteelCheif were great and working with us and the other trdies to get that done.
I liked the personal touch in developing the plan for our shed and also the extra effort to install our shed, given that the company does not yet have an installation team in Brisbane. The shed looks great in situ and I am very pleased however, there is an issue with water entry after rain, with water entering where the shed sits on the concrete. Perhaps a little extra cost charged to silicone the gap might be the answer. Show details
