Extremely Disappointed – We had a Big W Steelcraft pram before this one that we loved, so when baby 2 came along I was keen to buy another steel craft with two seats. However the quality and durability of the Strider Plus is pathetic and we hate it to be honest. The rubber is literally coming off the tyres, and it didn't take long for that to start. The tyres scrub on the… Read more

wheel guards making an annoying scrapping sound when you push it, I ended up removing the guards to fix that problem. But the most annoying thing is the brake! It doesn't fully disengage on the wheel that doesn't have the peddle (the left one) so it makes rather a loud clicking noise when you are pushing the pram. We've oiled the pin that engages the brake on that side, tried to make sure the peddle was fully released, but we still couldn't stop the noise. Now the pram is two years old, the front wheel is broken and when it hits the slightest bump, folds under the pram causing it to tip over. We are extremely disappointed with this pram and wished we hadn't bought it. It certainly hasn't lasted like we thought it would, or like the last one did. It had good reviews online when we bought it, but I would suggest looking at other brands!

Great pram for walking or running, slightly wide – I bought this pram second-hand, so it had already been used for a while before I got it - I had both the basinette attachment and the normal pram. I loved it! It's very stable to push, comfortable for little kids and fits in the back of my Hyundai i30 once you take a wheel off. It met all my needs in a pram, as we usually use a woven wrap or Tula… Read more

carrier (or just carry the kids in arms) in shopping centres. I used to take my daughters either walking or running outside with it, and had no problems on gravel, grass and concrete.

I really loved the reversibility of the seat, something that was really important to me in a pram - it was easy to flip around, even with a baby sitting in the seat (so I could turn bub around to face me if she got grizzly).

There are a few drawbacks that I found - one was that if you're not firm, the brake can stick when walking - you have to reach down and unlock it with your hand firmly, which can be a bit annoying. Secondly, I found that sometimes it can be hard to fold up the pram - I have to repeat the unlocking movement four or five times, although my husband always seems to get it first try (I don't think it's to do with strength, though). As mentioned, it is a little wide for shopping centres in terms of stores - but we never really cared about that.

I also found the cover in the pocket under the pram annoying with the zip halfway across - the space is large enough for a few grocery bags, but because of the zip panel it was awkward to squeeze them in. This was probably the biggest drawback for me, as I often walked up to the shops to get a bag or two of groceries.

I would buy the pram second-hand but not new. I would say, though, that the pram is really best up to the age of two years - I can put my toddler (almost three) in it, but it's a squeeze - our 8 month old goes in it comfortably and has since she was a month or two old - it's really good as an upright pram for young babies who can hold their heads up.

okay, but i wouldn't buy it new – i Purchased one of the strider 3 with second seat second hand. firstly i love the colours they come in. big bonus. but my love for the pram was short lived. i struggled to fit it in my holden astra, even with one seat it was a big struggle. second, the wheels are huge! and they squeek after a while. i struggle to fit into most cafes because the… Read more

Love this pram for walking – Love this pram for walking, however the wheels are really wearing down after only occasional use over five months. We bought a new car (Subaru Forrester) and it pretty much takes up the whole boot! I don't really use the pram unless I'm walking due to its size which makes it hard to access some shops, which is a pity when it has a great size basket. Glad i only bought this for my last baby as I'm sure the wheels wouldn't last for another.

Front wheel and faulty brake – I purchased my strider plus 3 back in November 2010 and started using it about a month later. It was always a HUGE pram so I only used it until my son could sit up and then packed it away and used a smaller stroller instead. I then pulled out the mammoth strider plus 3 again and purchased the extra toddler seat when my second son was born in… Read more

January 2013. We went on holiday in May 2013 and I was using an escalator in a shopping centre when the front wheel snapped and I fell (as did the pram) luckily my kids were strapped in so I was the only one injured (cuts and bruises to my leg) We contacted the baby bunting (place of purchase) customer service centre who directed us to the gold coast store who replaced the wheel free of charge, not long after this incident I packed up the strider and began using the (old faithful) stroller again as my eldest son preferred to walk most places anyway. I have used the strider a few times since and noticed that the braking mechanism locks up intermittently nearly giving my kids whiplash as it stops dead (not good when crossing a road with a ten ton pram).

The front wheel has also started to feel a bit fragile again and the foam on the handle has cracked and started to fall off (pretty bad for such an expensive pram and accessories, especially one that hasn't been used all that much) I have contacted the manufacturer and the retailer (Baby Bunting) and neither are willing to take any responsibility as the pram is out of warranty so my recommendation would be do not buy this pram it is a piece of junk. I now am having to fork out hundreds of dollars for a new pram (not a Steelcraft and not from Baby Bunting!!!!!!) for my next baby who is due in 5 weeks because I have absolutely no faith in the safety of the steelcraft strider plus 3. If you care about the safety of your children, I would certainly have a good think about it before buying one of these prams. I had hoped this would last me for all of my children (I plan on having 4) and it barely lasted me 2. Very disappointing. Ability to carry 2 children It is huge and heavy, poor reliability, safety concerns with front wheel and brakes, poor service from both the retailer and the manufacturer, expensive for how flimsy it is

Buckles faulty – Very far from impressed. The prongs on the harness buckles break. One prong on each side of the harness has mysteriously snapped off between uses, after less than ten months of use, so we can't just use the lap bar either. While initially we thought the pram was great and we WERE planning on using it for more than one child, I don't think it will last that long. Waste of money!

I am very happy with this pram and the little guy is too – Our little guy is 5 months old now and we have used this pram often since he was born and have even travelled interstate with it. comes with it, up until now I have positioned him facing me which made him more comfortable being able to see me. Now he is so curious about the world around him, I face him the other way - this is a great feature and was one of my requirements. I also love the 3 seat recline positions and use them often depending whether he is sleeping or wants to watch the world. The pram is quite bulky and heavy if you are smaller framed, but I manage fine getting it in and out of the car, folding and unfolding it. It only just fits in the boot of my Mazda 3 hatch, but I don't often need anymore room in the boot. I don't have troubles folding it, however have observed hubby and various family members struggle to get the thing up or down or in the car! There are only very few shops that the pram won't fit (as it is quite wide) but I figure they don't deserve my business then! I feel safe when pushing him in a crowded place as it is quite bulky and he stays protected. The size of the wheels makes it great for walking along unsteady footpaths, over grass and rough surfaces. Great features - 3 positions for seat, easy to access the storage basket that can hold quite a lot of shopping, pram can face either way, sun cover included, option to fit other pie such as bassinet

Big – I've owned both the strider plus 3 and plus 4 and both times I've had to sell because they don't fit in my boot! The wheel base is far too big and I had the same problem at check outs. Still I found this pram awesome hence the reason I bought it twice! I loved all the features and how comfy the seat looked with my daughter in it. Easy to use Expensive, bulky and hard to fold.

Front wheel – I too have had the same problem when my front wheel going crooked. In my opinion it's a fault in the pram but I rang britax and they tell me it's we are folding when you sped so much money on a pram you would expect this to be covered under warranty. This is my only issue with this pram other then that I love it Front wheel

says isn't a fault! We have 5 mths warranty and I'm dreading what to do if it continues to happen after we call for replacemnt wheels tomorrow! If this has happened after 24 hrs what's going to happen I. The future to the wheels??!! So upset and peeved that I can't use my pram now till it gets new wheels because my baby is thrown around so much she screams!

So peeved what a waist of money :( I had such high hopes for this pram and yesterday it was beautiful to push I was so excited today and hubby even wanted to push it we had to negotiate who got to, then when we started to walk poor bub started to jolt all over the shop . Such a shame if only the wheels were made of something else! You can even see the creases in the wheel where it has buckled and the fact that in future ill have to remove wheels every time we fold it down does not impress me at all! Will be interested to see what happens when I call for replacement pieces tomorrow! Was lovely to push before wheels went to [censored word removed] Wheels buckled after one use!!

Good pram awful front wheel – Versatile pram with its seat configuration and the children find it very comfortable. However the front wheel is a huge disappointment. Considering this pram is fairly expensive and certainly heavy and robust the front wheel buckles very easily and small bumps or cracks in the pavement. Very disappointing as its otherwise a nice prak lots of seat choices especially for a newborn bad warranty service and front wheel issues.

Versatile all rounder pram – We've had the Strider Plus 3 now for almost 2 years. We love the large wheels making it easy to use over rough ground / grass etc. The bassinet was really good when our lad was little; very protective from the elements! Excellent being able to turn the seat and bassinet to face Mum while out and about (our friends without this feature seemed to… Read more

have problems with their little ones no longer being able to see Mum).

The footmuff is excellent for keeping the winter elements at bay too - and as this and other accessories (such as sun mesh (doubles as anti mosquito!), coverall plastic see-through rainhood) come with the pram it was a great choice for us.

Great storage space.

Needs handle bar storage space for drinks bottle etc though 3rd party accessories can fit easily and are only a few bucks.

It is wide. We just took the opinion that if the stores aisles were not wide enough, they hadn't planned for a Mum with children and lost our money due to their lack of planning. Sadly, this pram has never fitted on the old trams but has got on the bus (as long as the public transport is wheelchair accessible).

Being a perfectionist, the wheels were far from perfect - but realistically in hindsight - that wobble is great for sending him to sleep! We never had any falling off.

From our experience, we'd recommend this pram. Large wheels, front and rearward facing seat/bassinet, accessories, winter protection, reliable, value for money Width

That Front Wheel! – I have been largely happy with my three wheel Strider Plus in the two years that I have been using it. I have issues with the wide wheel base sometimes and it is rather heavy to lift in and out of the car, however the main problem I have found with this model of the… Read more

Strider Plus is the front wheel!

We have had to replace the front wheel twice already and the current wheel tends to bend sideways at an awkward angle when turning a corner. I use the pram for my two children aged 5 months and 2 years (both under the maximum weight for each seat), however I am faced with the expense of replacing the front wheel again!

I can only conclude that there is a design flaw with the three wheel model relating to either a fundamental weakness in the front wheel or an overestimation on the weight that the pram can handle. Manoeuvrable, good storage space underneath, adjustable handle for tall people. Weak front wheel, heavy, wide wheel base.

Great but could improve on a few things – After a lot of research we chose the Strider 3 as it had lots of features and combinations to suit us. after we purchased it the new and improved version (Steelcraft Agile) came out so I was a little bit upset. Bassinet and Capsule options, 1 or 2 seat option, rear or forward facing, plenty of storage, washable padding and great option of colours. The shade and rain covers were included with no extra cost (unlike other prams). A little bit heavy to take in and out of the car and also a little wide when your shopping

Excellent option for 2 kids! – I wanted a simple layback stroller when I got pregnant with my second bub. my husband suggested that our 2 yr old would need to go in it too, (was planning to make her walk) anyway hours and hours and hours of research later I had it narrowed down to a kingfisher 3 wheeled strider plus with toddler seat. and tested one with my toddler in it and it is easily steered fully loaded with one hand. (if you've ever had to push a trolley and stroller at the same time or hold a toddlers hand and push pram you know this is a valuable thing. it also has a reversable seat. a layback toddler seat that can be fully upright when top seat is laid back. (not a common feature) and the toddler seat is very easily removed if not needed. also this particular pram comes with a bassinet and car capsule attachment, for further versatility. i have been asked several times int the shopping centre what pram it is. as it impresses everyone who sees it. another great thing is the colour range. i have the kingfisher. it is lovely. overall a great investment and excellent choice for people with a bub and toddler or twins. especially as it is lots shorter than a tandem pram and lots skinnier than a side by side. 5 stars! versatility, colours, add ons size, ease of use. had a problem with the front wheel. (easily fixed, steelcraft very helpful) and big to fit in car.

Ok, But not for us – We bought this pram in 2010. I was so excited that an online retailer had it for only $800 delivered with toddler seat. love. My toddler at the time was in love it as well. We used to go for mini rides around the house with her in the toddler seat. Shortly after our precious baby was born. I loved the fact the seat didn't lay back fully flat as it stopped/aided in wind and was cradling enough that she did not wobble about. However on just our second trip out, i had to call a taxi to take us home. The taxi came and honked for us at the other side of the road. I looked both ways and could see traffic was quite a distance away so was safe to go. So i pushed the pram out onto the road and had one of the front wheels fall off into the ditch. Here i was in the middle of the road and our pram took a nose dive.l was terrified. Luckily an older woman (followed by a man) came out to help escort myself and my 2 children to the taxi with only one front wheel. I called Steelcraft themself to discuss this as a warranty issue at which point i was told that it was up to bubs baby store to do it. Well luckily for me bubs store did sort it out. But that's a terrifying experience none the less. Shortly after my new wheel arrived and was put on. But after that the pram screeched everywhere we went. Which i found quite embarrassing. I would not purchase this pram again. Possibly i got 1 faulty pram, and thousands of others a great! But just not for us. I also did not like the fact its so wide you need to use the wheelchair isles and pull it apart and put it together every time you want to use it. Can change from 1 or 2 kids Ours was faulty & even once fixed i wasn't impressed.

I have had a lot of prams and this is my favourite – This pram is great. I am a foster Mum and have had many prams over the years and this is by far the best. I have the capsule and the bassinet. have the aqua colour and I love the colour usually I have brown prams. The wheels don't require pumping up which is another plus. It has a huge carry case under the pram. The handle is adjustable to different heights which is great for me being tall. I hate feeling like I am bending over while pushing a pram. The only thing I don't like about it is it big when folded in the car. We have a Captiva and it's takes up most of the room in the back. I guess most prams do especially joggers. On a recent trip we had to take all the wheels off to be able to fit it in with everything else we needed to take. But even so I still love it. Great colour, good for tall people, don't have to pump up wheels, capsule option great for newborns. Takes up a lot of room in the car

Great, everyday pram. The most versatile on the market!! – We are very happy with this pram! We have been using it for our daughter for the past 16 months and have not had any problems. I was worried about the seat not being big enough as she grows, but I have recently had my friends tall 2 1/2 year old in it and she had plenty of room (while my daughter was happy to sit in the second seat below!).

Initially it annoyed me that it didn't have a handlebar caddy, but then I realised I could move the caddy from the bottom storage area and velcro it around the handlebars, since then I have never looked back!

Love the bassinet too, when our daughter was younger she would sleep in this while on holidays or at friends/families houses.

The only thing I have against this pram is that it is big and heavy to carry around and takes up lots of boot space. But I solved this problem by buying a lightweight stroller for the shops/outings. I prefer this anyway as I don't have to think about the pram before heading out. The pram just stays set up and ready for walks! Forward and rearward facing seat. 2 kids fit easily. Sturdy. Bassinet attachment easy to clip on and off. Heavy and big to fold and lift. Heavy to push with 2 kids. Wide wheels - sometimes have trouble fitting through doors etc.

For one, okay, for two, wouldn't reccomend – I purchased this pram for my twins around a year ago. For the first 6 months it went great, then the pram started to wobble and the wheels got a constant squeak. canopy on the toddler seat commonly falls off when you try to adjust it, and that because the pram is so heavy it is common for the wheels to squeak constantly. However if you are just going to use the pram for one child then the pram is great, and the 3 wheeled version is easy to maneuver. Convenient for use for a twin pram, nice colours. Expensive, Large, Heavy, Makes a lot of noise when older.

I love my Strider plus 3, apart from it's bounce and squeeks! – I have just purchased a Strider Plus 3 to use with my 3 week old and 2 year old. I love the pram... a squeek and bounce which I am not so fond of, but through reading reviews have seen this is a common trait. Sturdy, can take two children, main seat can face person pushing the pram, both seats recline, good looking, great hoods (ON BOTH SEATS), main seat quite high, can put heavier child in front or back seat without effecting the balance, great basket underneath which is easily accessible., easy to fold, can steer with one hand, brake easy to use, recline options for both seats, can be folded with both seats on, or remove seats quite easily. Heavy to lift (but that doesn't phase me - extra weight loss!), quite large in boot, back wheels quite wide, mine has a squeek to the wheels, and also very bouncy when using both seats, price was not really inline with it's competitors

The most practical pram on the market – I've had the strider plus 3 wheeler for a little over a year now and I love, love, love it! It's got everything you could want from a pram and more, including: a bassinet that looks so comfortable it's a good thing it's so small, otherwise you'd probably attempt to get in it. little one can face each other or so little one can look out at the big wide world.

There's all this...and more! practical, smooth, safe and steelcraft themselves are great to deal with if there is any issues. it is a little wide in the back wheels, and the wheel guards get caught on things occasionally. Putting it up and down isn't difficult but it could be a lot easier.
