Leaks!!!
Cafe Series KE9650This is the 2nd one ive had, i thought the first one leaking was just a one off fault, but the 2nd ones leaking from the clear display too after not even 18 months. Not a cheap kettle so very dissapppointing! Clearly a design fault! I have now contacted customer service and they declined a repalcement or refund even though other people on here have had the same issue out of warranty and they assisted! Mine is only 3 months out of warranty and they dont want to know about it. I could not recommend this product or sunbeam customer service any less! Now to the accc

Cafe Series KE9600The lid could not open smothly when used for not very long time, then it became leaking just after the 5 years using.

Leaking water, worst customer service
Cafe Series KE9600Kettle started leaking from water gauge. Though Kettle is out of warranty it still looks as new. Sent an email to sunbeam customer care. Received no reply. Then called Sunbeam and they were not interested in my issue even though there seems to be numerous complaints about water leakage.
This is obviously a design issue or poorly/cheaply made kettle even though it is worth considerably more than other electric kettles.
I will not buy another Sunbeam product.

Cafe Series KettleOnly 3 months in and the leaks started. At first a few drops then within a few days water was pouring out of the glass window. Quite dangerous as my kids are always using it. Paid $179

Broken lid
Cafe Series KE9650Paid over $200 for this product and the lid became faulty after 14 months, i.e. would not open when the button was pushed. Eventually the hinge on the lid broke and the kettle is now useless. .

Cafe Series KE9650I bought this specifically for the Sunbeam Quiet Shield technology. The first time I used it it was fantastic. A quiet boil that got slightly louder at the end but a brilliant improvement on the standard kettle boil noise. From the second use onwards it was just as noisy if not noisier than a standard kettle. At $159 price point you expect quality, especially for a kettle that you buy for $20 and less these days. If it is a fault, it’s fairly disappointing that it’s happened with the replacement as well as the original. Cafe Series KE9650Only purchased a few days ago so I may be jumping the gun but so far the whole family really likes this kettle. The water level is on both sides well away from the handle and the minimum level is 0.5 litres- easy to see and perfect for two mugs. The handle is solid and the kettle is not heavy. There is range of 5 temperatures and it shows you the current temperature as it is in use and the wait time to reach the desired temperature. ... Read moreet. Over many years, we have struggled with the noise levels of a number of Breville kettles, a Russell Hobb quiet kettle and also recently a Sunbeam Alinea Select kettle. This one is a standout - genuinely quiet in a kitchen/family room. No more turning up the TV for us when the kettle is on! Only one small niggle - the button flip open lid does seem a bit flimsy and seems to actually bounce back and forth a bit as it opens with such force. I can see many much older comments that the lid mechanism did not last well so I am hoping that this has been improved over the years. I would have loved for this kettle to be in white to match with my new Alinea Select toaster but alas, not to be, yet..Leaking Window
Cafe Series KE9650This is our 3rd Sunbeam series kettle…same thing has happened 3 times…side windows split and water leaks when you fill part it, pooling water underneath!!! Nearly didn’t pay for another one when we bought this one…definitely will not be making the same mistake a 4th time ! A $20 supermarket has outlasted it!

Cafe Series KE9650Works as it expected, I like the fact that it tells you the temperature of the water and an estimation of how long it will take to boil. I've had mine for years, no issues. Pretty quiet but not silent.

3 dead kettles
Cafe Series KE9650Looks great, and complements the other Sunbeam Cafe Series white goods I have in my home, however...
The original unit which I purchased in 2018 started acting strangely whilst boiling water, then died completely, so it was replaced under warranty in 2019.
The replacement worked well for about 3 months then started doing the same thing, so it was replaced in 2019.
The exact same thing has now happened to this unit, plus the lid now won't open.
I've reached out to Sunbeam customer service to ask for a escalation, but after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, hung up.
The product quality is not good, which is a real shame because their blender, 4 slice toast, and coffee machine are excellent.

Cafe Series KE9650We have had this kettle for about 15 months.
The lid began to stick about 6 months ago, and finally this week it completely broke.
At about $129, it is by far the most expensive kettle, and also the worst quality we have ever owned.
We now use a saucepan lid over the top to make our tea.
Please recall this dangerous flawed kettle IMMEDIATELY!

It was safely stored away and only brought out recently. After only 4 months of use, the water level beeper started malfunctioning. Three times unlucky!
Cafe Series KE9650This is a great kettle.....when it works. Very quiet and love the variety of temperatures. Unfortunately we have had three and the first two failed after exactly 13 months and the third died today after just fifteen months. In the past we have been used to kettles lasting about eight years. A big fail Sunbeam and there’s obviously a major fault somewhere

Cafe Series KE9650Good kettle, when It worked. Most of the time it kept beeping and contiounsly boiled. I'm just so lucky I wasn't scaulded. Should be recalled. $150 is a lot to pay for a kettle.

Cafe Series KE9650Extremely disappointed with this product . Only had for 2 years and the first one was swapped as the lid was faulty . 2nd one now the thermostat has gone and keeps beeping when trying to boil
. I think I will take my consumer law option as this kettle for $150 should last longer then it has . A Kmart $7 kettle would be a better option . Disgraceful
