Gave up on my old Airfryer that was rubbish. I have only used it 3 times since I bought this one and so far very impressed as my fish & chips came out crunchy & perfectly cooked. Only downside is the manual is very limited & would have thought that Sunbeam would have done better. Early days but so far great. Show details · 1

Sunbeam Copper Infused Dura Ceramic AFP4000 Airfryer - Good entry level air fryer – I’ve had this, my first air fryer, for 11 months and I’m now convinced there’s a place for an air fryer in every kitchen, although I didn’t choose it myself as it was a gift. This one is small but fine for one person. I’ve used it to cook steak with excellent results. It’s fine for chicken pieces, jacket potatoes (partially cooked in the… Read more · 1
microwavefirst), oven chips etc, and I’ve even tried it for a cheese toastie but that was a little bit awkward. It cooks far better than my combination microwave. One criticism is the handle mechanism for lifting out the inner basket. This is a flimsy little clear plastic slider that you push forward and then press an orange plastic button to release the basket. It’s all a bit awkward and I think the design of this part could be better but the basket itself and the outer container are easy to clean - no complaints there. The timer is just a rotary countdown knob that also serves to turn on the appliance, with 5-minute increments and 2.5 minute notches between, that goes up to a max of 30 mins. It isn’t very accurate, especially towards the end of the cooking time (it switches off before reaching 0) but you get used to that and make allowances. The temperature range is 80 to 200, in 40 degree increments with half notches in between. Again, it’s a rotary knob. All in all, this is a good introduction to air fryers for a single person household and it does the job for me. At some point in the future, I might look at the next model up with digital controls and maybe a slightly larger capacity but I’m happy with this one for now and it looks smart while taking up a smallish space on the bench. A good starter for an air fryer novice/single person.
Loving it – We just purchased the Sunbeam for our shared Xmas gift. No experience with air fryers! We are loving this appliance. I have to adjust the time as recommended by the recipes, but that is too be expected. We have plenty of new recipes to try out. So far we have tried potato wedges, frozen prawns, chicken thighs... You know. Basics. Hit each for 6! Show details · 1
Very happy- it does a great job – Got this benchtop appliance because heating the wall oven for a serve of chips annoys me. More than happy with the product....wonderfully crisp fish and chips for two, best battered calamari !!! Easy to clean, no complaints so far. Show details
Has a strange taste and smell – Sounds odd but food tastes and smells like disinfectant, almost like antiseptic which is very strange. Cleaned it thoroughly several times and no difference. Not sure what the issue could be, I don’t think I kept the receipt either else I would try and return it. Show details
Must have accessories – In reply to the above, I had mine Christmas 2020 and have not looked back since. Just a small hint, if your takeaway overloads the fries, freeze them down in portions and reheat on 200 degrees for 5 minutes max, shake the basket half way. The fries are better after the second fry crispy and no added oil is needed. Show details
Buyer Beware – I received this air fryer as a gift this Christmas and was very excited to try it out as I have heard good things about air fryers. Boy was I wrong! After my second attempt at cooking oven baked fries in the air fryer and it not cooking them in over an hour I realised that the fan does not work. I will be returning this under warranty ASAP but I… Read more
am very surprised that a brand new product straight out the box does not work. It's either very poorly made or Sunbeam has no quality control. Do not buy this air fryer.
Fan Stopped Working after 3 months – Worked great for first three months then suddenly the fan stopped fanning! Had to wait for post pandemic lockdown to ease before returning it to Hardly Normal. A bit disappointing all round. Show details
Basket coating peeling – The coating of the basket has started to come off just after a few uses, and its less than 1 years old (and continues to peel). As an owner of other non-stick appliances, the cleaning and maintenance has been taken with care. Worrying and disappointing in that the coating is another color so it looks completely unpleasant. Works when it wants to! – We have the same problem as Helen Smith, it will only work (when it wants to)! When you slam the draw closed over and over in the hope it works. Pretty disappointing! Refuse to throw it away though as it’s not that old! When it does work it is great!! Show details

Fryer only starts intermittently – I am so disappointed that the appliance I bought will only start when I slam the drawer shut over and over! I’m sure this can’t be right but that has been my experience so far It usually puts me off using it because it is so frustrating. Show details

Where has this Airfryer been my whole life! – Received this airfryer in the black colour (4000BK) as a birthday gift. Where has this fantastic machine been !! So easy to use and fast cooking times. Best thing is, no defrosting required. So far i've tried frozen food such as chips, onion rings, tempura/crumbed prawns, samosas. Also have done steaks a pork roast and crispy brussel sprouts and… Read more · 1
plan to try more fun recipes. Food is always cooked very well and tasty and definitely healthier. The roast i found a cooked a little uneven, I find there isnt a great deal of direction on how long to cook food for so use the oven guide on packets and adjust times and temperatures slightly. It does come with a page of information of cook times for popular items. Cleaning the drip tray is a breeze, just wipe out with a damp cloth and can use a little detergent if needed. The copper basket is easy to clean also however have noticed a little residue from food like the steaks or roast can remain after washing. Not enough to affect non stick coating however. My mum in her 70s just bought one aswell after trying mine and loving it, its very straight forward for her to use and operate and the basket is not too heavy.
DuraCeramic basket isn't very durable – We received the air fryer as a gift last Christmas (2019). After 9 months of use the coating in the basket peeled. We own a lot of non-stick products and I can assure you it was not misused. When I contacted Sunbeam I was told they don't have any replacement baskets and sent me a link for support agents so I could buy one. The air fryer works… Read more
fabulously but don't believe the marketing about the durability of the basket. I would have thought it would have come with some warranty.

Know better, choose better.
Very good, especially for the price – Bought this purely out of curiosity, and turns out it was money well spent. Compact, clean because everything is kept inside the unit, easy to use, and makes skinless chicken breasts not merely edible but actually enjoyable. Better than a grill, as more or less does both sides at once and doesn't seem to dry meat out as much. Show details
Great air fryer – We received this as a gift and have used it a lot in the last 6 months. It's easy to cook with thought a touch hard to clean, often having to soak it overnight to clean it properly. Show details
Excellent air fryer – Excellent air fryer. Easy to use and tastes like normal grilled in oven. I would recommend this air fryer anytime. Easy to clean as well . My whole family loved the tandoori chicken I made in the air fryer. Show details
Awsome – Great product easy to use i like it does not use oil so it is alot more healthy for me and my kids to eat opposed to oil cooking thanks Show details · 1
this is an excellent unit – I think this is a very good product . sometimes I use less than half a teaspoon of olive oil on items such as chips which it does very well . If you want to try Kumera you will have to turn them after 10 minutes ahe cooment nd cook for another 10 minutes , Steaks depends how you have yours but the steaks I have well done are moist… Read more · 1
and juicy and all the fat drips into the second tray. The comments about the red button. You need to slide the clear piece of plastic forward to press this to release the two compartments from each other. In some ways you are better off with out it. I will leave you to discover why, other than that the unit is well made . Obviously you will need to clean both compartments after each use. I suggest you soak for a while to add cleaning. There you go everybody from me to you! ,,
Worst Product Ever! – Purchased the Sunbeam Copper Infused Air fryer on the 28th December 2019. Used it 3 times. Now won’t work. The button the open the door is cheap and nasty. Waste of money. Not happy Show details
