Bought two. One is awesome the other died after one winter – I bought two of these heaters some years ago. $250 each on sale. Absolutely brilliant, quiet and efficient. Put them away after one winter and one of them never started again. The first is still going but I couldn’t bear to chuck out the other after so little use. Finally took it to a repair cafe today after it had sat in my garage for years,… Read more

only to find that the power goes to all the right components, the fuses are fine, everything in it looks great. Hardly any dust (it only had one year of use) and basically the electronics guy couldn’t find a thing wrong…except the power on doesn’t light up, the LCD thermostat screen doesn’t come on….and no apparent reason. It just won’t work. Now destined for the junkyard.

While I love the working one, and a friend has the original 90’s metal case one still working, this one is a dud. So disappointed really. Maybe Sunbeam discontinued them because some were just lemons.

Big warmth in a small size – My family uses the Sunbeam Micro Furnace heater in the bathroom and it heats up the room very quickly if windows are shut etc... It has two settings but we only use the one... One downside is that the heater sort of changes its temperature, I guess when it senses that the room has become hot... However this feature isn't always reliable and can… Read more ·  1

sometimes cause it to stop heating the room properly even when it's still cold! And other times the damn thing ends up burning you if you're not careful... Another thing I've noticed is that even after you turn the heater up it doesn't do anything... But I'll have to admit we have had this heater for a long time and it has been dropped... I've never experienced a heater as small this that heats up a room so fast so it truly is a Micro Furnace. I recommend!

Sunbeam MF2000 – I have three of the Sunbeams MF 2000 one for each room and they have got us through winter for many years. I have also still have an original Pelko steel case unit still going strong. I think I bought this in the 90's. The original Pelko is robust compared to the MF 2000. One of the switches on the MF 2000 needs replacing, but Sunbeam won't service them. It still works, but the switch is getting dodgy an would like to replace.  Show details ·  1

This heater is a gem. For times when the idea of warmth makes the cost seem so insignificant as I as – More than enough for early morning showers when f'ing around is not an option. Probably the gutsiest heater I have owned & as fast or faster than anything I have seen with the fan.The thermostat seems to work well also. Most impressed ....thanks Sunbeam. It is nice to find things that have obviously been made thoughtfully.  Show details ·  1

Highly efficient - magic warmth! – I have had this heater for over six years and every time deep winter arrives I am very glad I have it! On those really cold winter mornings and nights I find it is highly efficient and heats a room very quickly! Would anyone know where to find replacement filters?  Show details

Love mine! Most economical I've ever had! – It's not cheap, but I've had both this, and its little brother, and it keeps the whole (large & open) living area toasty. The ceramic honeycomb is incredibly efficient at transferring heat and the secret with these micro furnaces is to switch them on as it starts to get cold, rather than when it's freezing. Set the temp, switch it on and let it do the work. LOVE IT!  Show reply

Best Portable Heater on the market! – This is by far the best portable heater I have ever seen in my life, the powerful heat that comes from this tiny heater is unbelievable. I don't understand the other peoples reviews saying its terrible because it actually amazed me! I think they must have had too high expectations, I mean its a portable heater its only going to do one room, not… Read more

your whole house and let me tell you it does a standard size bedroom/lounge room perfectly on the highest setting "H5" Pure genius from Sunbeam on this one, well done. Will buy again for sure. reliable and extremely powerful for its size!

Terrible – Although this heater has some nice features, it's nonetheless a waste of time and money. The features that make this heater appealing are available in much cheaper, quieter, equally compact, equally good-looking, and far more reliable heaters. When this thing heats up, it's noisy as hell; and when it reaches the preset temperature, it emits an… Read more

annoying crackling noise. I returned it after 48 hours and replaced it with the Sunbeam HE2050: http://www.sunbeam.com.au/Pages/Browse/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=1238. nice looking; compact; heats a small, closed area quickly; good safety features; self-regulating ridiculously over-priced; highly prone to breakdown; noisy (not just the fan, but makes other weird, annoying crackling noises as well).

Bad – Considering its cost, the heater has failed - could have bought bar-radiator many times over for same cost. I reckon I've been ripped off. Liked its fast heat. Paid over $AU250 - thermostat failed - Sunbeam may replace. Have older version - also failed.
