Fails basic soft kitchen use within 6 uses – Used this appliance 6 times over 18 months just to blend pumpkin soup. No heavy work. Short burst use. On occasion 6 burning smell and ceased working It is a junk product not if merchantable quality. I don't recommend you waste money on sunbeam mixers given my experience with this one. Show details

It just an expensive toy – Bought my Stickmaster on March 3, 2003, and the motor burned out after using it less than a dozen time, and this happened around 8 August 2023. Contacted customer support via email and never heard back from them. Show details

Loved it but it’s rusting after just one year – I haven’t used the food processor very often but now when I wash the lid there is rusty brown water dripping from the inside middle part. Even if I let it sit and dry for a couple of days, when I shake it there is this horrible rusty smelling brown liquid trapped in the middle part. I don’t like the thought it might drip into whatever I’m… Read more

processing. Also - a minor issue and easily fixable with some glue - the inside part of the blades has come apart. Makes me think this is not very well built. It’s a shame because I like the ease of use and being able to switch between stick blender (still love the stick blender) and chopper and whisk. I had a high opinion of Sunbeam before, but wouldn’t buy this again.

Can’t do without – Just love this product. Works well. Everything secures in tightly not like others I’ve tried. Been into making protein balls and processes ingredients down no worries. Great for soups too, leaving soup in pot and using the stick to blend. Show details ·  1

Short life – I have Purchased sunbeam stickmaster twice and I am Not happy with the product. It last less than 12 month. I lost the receipt. So can’t claim product warranty. Better to find other option. Show details

Run excellent exactly 12 months of the warranty period – Bought 12 months ago. It worked perfectly for the last 12 months. Now its motor slowing down and doesn't blend. Cant claim the warranty because it has just expired warranty. If it is a Kmart's $29 blender then noting to complain. But its price is $79, a little bit expensive but the quality is the same as the $29 blender. Show details

This is gross – I made a lovely dip, while I was scraping out the excess into a bowl, I noticed tiny black specks around the rim, that had also sprayed down into the food. The chopper lid fills with water, you cant empty it out or clean it. It leaks down the shaft and sprays into the food. BAD BAD BAD design flaw. Food poisoning eeek!!! hmm, we have been getting gastros the last few weeks. I'm chucking this in the bin, with my lovely dip I just made.  Show details

Poor design – After half a dozen uses on soft foods with good effect I attempted a slightly more fibrous food type with added water for softening. The food bulk builds up under the inlet and remains unprocessed. Using a pulse mode for a short duration of time, so as not to put the blender/processor under pressure, the motor heated up and stopped working. In reflection, there is a lot of pressure on the motor of the stick to pulsate foods through the processor. Show details

Another dead motor – When the unit was working, it seemed more than capable. Then on its fourth use, after about 30 seconds it crackled and died. Reading the other reviews, this seems to be a common theme with this unit. Now I'll have to start digging through receipts and figuring out how the warranty process works, which is unlikely to be much fun since the unit was purchased online. Show details

Could be good except for the horrible rusting and water build-up in the components! – I would first like to note I am not the only customer with this complaint; I too noticed rusting from the inner steel components of the food processor not long after purchase and and no matter what method I used to dry each component before packing it still sounded as though water was building up in it and the ultimate proof was leakage of a… Read more

reddish-orangish-brownish (i.e. rusty) liquid that could very well seep into whatever it is I am processing/blending/mixing. I purchased this from my local Myer store, unfortunately misplaced the receipt prior to warranty ending, was advised by Myer to take it up with Sunbeam Australia and when I relayed my problems, sent all my details, forwarded all my photos they simply ended up ignoring me entirely because of my lost receipt! I do not recommend this product at all. Your money will be better spent on the K-mart equivalent (I kid you not, check their site out ASAP). Worse, the customer service I received from the staff at Sunbeam Australia fell very, very short of an acceptable standard, especially because I was raising legitimate concerns about the shortcomings in the manufacture of this gadget. It is not fit for purpose and that in itself should have entitled me to a replacement or refund irrespective of Sunbeam's warranty term.

Disappointed – Have bought 2 of these as the first one broke within a year and sadly the same happened with the second one. The chopper attachment stopped spinning. I was only doing breadcrumbs. It seemed like the plastic attachment had worn out. A shame as I had been using it fairly regularly and had found it very useful and easy to use and clean. Show details

Wonderful Mixer – Love the versatility and ease of this machine. Mixes soups with ease and also fantastic for chopping vegetables, nuts, biscuits for slices etc. Still going strong after 3 years of heavy use. Love that it is much easier to clean and store compared to bulky food processor. Show details ·  1

Motor dies every 6mths. Cannot recommend – Purchased in August 17, motor sparked and died in April 18. Retailer replaced for me with a new machine and the motor has sparked and died in Jan 19. When I returned it I was told this machine is not made for daily use. I use it to blend milkshakes almost daily and also for soups etc. loved it while it was working but will never buy again and cannot recommend.  Show details

Ok?? – I bought this stick blender after reading reviews, and other ‘better’ ones were way to expensive. I’m not completely sure about this one yet, I do like the chopping attachment and the blender itself seems sturdy but I’ve found heaps of food gets stuck in the chopping arm head (where the blades are), so much wastage. great product – A much loved kitchen gadget. after 6 years the motor has sadly given up. I'd like a new motor as all my other parts are in good condition since I have mostly used the stick and the food processor parts. I'd like to know if the latest model motor sm7400 will fit the sm6400 attachments? Then I will just buy the later version without all the accessories.  Show details

poor quallity motor – used it for 2 and a half years, then the motor just stopped. looked it up online and i can see I'm not the only one. Will never never never ever use SUNBEAM again. Hand many problems with the attachable blender always had to tighten the screws, it clogs up and you have to use oil just to get the blender attached. Don't buy Sunbeam.  Show details

Value for money – Used this Stickmaster for past sometime will highly recommend as entry level and no issue product. Performance is good and product is steady. Light weight helps to use in range of setting. Used stickmaster from other brands and found that the plastic melt down in case of over usage, while Sunbeam stickmaster stands distinctively.  Show details

Cheap – Its the cheap yet usefull good branded stick blender availabe in the market. Dont know why some are close to $100 when this is availability under 30 yet same functions. Easy to operate, nice colour combinations. Only frequently used accessories included. The wire should be a bit longer than what it is now.  Show details

Still working – I use this product mainly for the mini processor attachment and to date have not used the hand stick blender.. deeper this thing is immersed in hot liquid the quicker it will conduct up the shaft. The trick is with these blenders is to watch the time your using it. They cannot dissapate heat very well and can overheat with constant use. So if your one of those who blends ways for minutes then this will likely do just that. Giving them a spell in between helps too.

I have used the beater and thats works great but I cant really find a constant use for it. Your also better of blending liquids after it has cooled down. I dont expect the bearing/bushes would stand up to boiling water all the time. Im happy with it.

Happy happy happy – This Sunbeam Stickmaster Plus was purchased to replace another very ordinary, poor performing product (of a different brand and reviewed elsewhere) and I couldn't be happier. Strong stable components, consistent blitzing & chopping and easy to clean. It gets plenty of use. I am very pleased and will "stick" with Sunbeam in the future.  Show details

Worked well for a while – Was disappointed this became such a throw-away item. It worked really well for four and a half years, but when trying to blitz up some breadcrumbs from bread that was probably still too frozen, the motor appears to have burnt out.
