Had this toaster since 2009, it has been really good and no issues but 1. This 1 issue has come up at late 2024 where the plastic handle lever where it slots into the metal slot has become weak and brittle. I pulled it out and used some cello tape to hold it stronger. But was hoping to see if sunbeam have a similar handle that will fit that I can… Read more · 4
buy to replace to worn out one. Toaster has served me well and still using it but just being careful with the lever. Toaster still going strong after 16 years of regular usage.

Disappointed – I bought this toaster a year or so ago. The main problem is that from early on there were issues with the lever staying down. It came good for a while but has failed again. I'm disappointed, being an owner of many Sunbeam products over the years. I'm hoping Sunbeam is looking into this as I'm seeing this issue come up in several reviews for this product.
Would Be Faster Blowing On The Bread Than Using This Toaster – Slow and ineffective. Buy something else. It really isn't a toaster, more like a very slow warmer of bread. Do not waste your money. Anyway, look for another budget toaster and enjoy. Nothing Slow, functions not worth mentioning. Takes up a lot of space, if you want to waste space it's ideal.
Only toasts on one side – Waste of money. Worked for a few months then stopped. Didn't fit an average home-slice of bread, yet it has a message about how to toast crumpets printed through the centre top.
This piece of garbage replaces the other pure elements toaster piece of gargabe – Do not buy sunbeam toasters. Believe me people I bought the sunbeam pure elements toaster but I experienced the same issue as everyone else it just had flashing lights and beeped at me. I then thought I was just unlucky as sunbeam had such a good name over the years. Wrong! I purchased a sunbeam maestro TA6420 on the 7th August 2015 which only… Read more
toasts on one side. Another piece of garbage. I now know sunbeam can't manufacture toasters they are just rubbish and overpriced. I will now try and get a Breville or at least a stick with bread on the end and put over a fire!
Won't buy Sunbeam products ever again – An overpriced piece of disposable junk. The plastic lever is designed to fail prematurely, It broke after barely a year of use. When I rang to request a replacement I was told they no longer make that part despite the toaster still be in production... I repaired the lever myself with some steel and devcon. It takes about twice as long to unevenly… Read more
toast a couple of pieces of bread than the 5 dollar K-mart special we have at work (which gets 1000% more use) If you can't make a toaster that works properly I don't trust you could make anything worth my money. Never again.
Gets very hot – The toaster was OK to start with (never fantastic), however my main gripe is I have always found that the metal piece through the centre of the toaster gets very hot. If you are toasting muffins or something shorter than a normal piece of bread, it doesn't pop up high enough and you end up trying to work out how to get it out without burning your… Read more
fingers. Definitely wouldn't have been happy to put up with this if I had children.
Recently the filaments in the centre gave out (obviously not far out of warranty), and also kept tripping the power.
Finally tossed it out and got a different new one in the mid season sales...!
Almost unusable – Bought this on 'Sunbeam' reputation and past purchases. Toasts really unevenly but the worst part is you have to stick a knife in to get toast out! (after turning off at power point each time you toast). Really disappointed. Sent an email to Sunbeam and they said just return to place of purchase.
Is it really that hard – I would of thought we would have perfected something as simple as a toaster but no. Totally unevenly cooks all pieces of toast, you need to flip and spin pieces around to toast an entire side. Less than half of the wire elements heat up red hot, the rest seem to have been installed poorly/incorrectly and rest against the metal chassis of the… Read more
toaster (here the heat dissipates and the wire does not get hot enough).
If I put four slices on there is an assortment of partially cooked and uncooked sides, I can do a better job using the grill on my oven. For a four slice toaster I can actually cook one good crumpet or muffin at a time if I put it down one end and face it in the right direction. Where do we start, see above, it actually can't make toast to a basic standard. And now the plastic handle to lower the toast has broken off, at just under $80 I expected a lot more.
Update: plastic handle has now broken. Unable to obtain replacement part from Sunbeam, the toaster… Read more
Disappointing – Previously owned a Sunbeam Quantum and loved the features. Very disappointed in this model. High lift feature barely raises it 1cm and seems to start much lower than our previous toaster. Cannot get toast out easily, and get burnt fingers trying to get crumpets or muffins out. Actually thought this function was faulty & took back for an exchange,… Read more
however is a fault in the model as next one the same. Toasts unevenlly and needs to be closely watched to avoid burning. Very disappointing. Wish I exchanged for a different model instead of another of the same. Looks good Unven toasting. High Lift lever doesn't lift anywhere near enough.
Purchased March 2013 returned January 2014. Lift function not really helpful, inconsistent and… Read more (+1 reply)
