What are the gsx 650fdifference from 2008 to the 2012 if any

Major difference is the introduction of ABS from 2010 model on. Other than that nothing of significance. I would suggest ABS for this or any bike if available.

Nothing that I know of. There was a colour change. 2011 models were blue / silver.

Hi Shady sorry mine is unrestricted but I don't think you have to cut the wire you should be able to unplug it, but can't really advise because I do believe that they are different to the UK.

How can I remove the Lams device from my GSX650F 2015 model?

Talked to a guy in a Suzuki dealer, he said sadly its not very simple, its not just a software change it would likely require dismantling the throttle body etc.

1) download the service manual, 2) check page 77, 1A-6 for the ecu terminals 3) cut the mode select switch which is number 30. ECU is twin mapped, this changes to the unrestricted ECU map. Beware this may not be legal if you do not hold an open license and may void your insurance/warranty.

How many kilometres can this bike do before it starts to die and needs replacement parts or until it's engine stops?

I've had mine from new (2009) and it's never missed a beat. 65000km on the clock now. I've only replaced a mirror & a clutch lever - both broke when the stand sunk into the lawn overnight & the bike fell over.

Apparently they are good for at least 300,000 if serviced correctly and not flogged when cold.

Gsx650, is it learner legal in nsw?

Hi Rich,

Yes I believe most of Australia is covered under the same Learner Rules. WA was the last to come on line. But always check on the NSW gov website, they should have a full list of approved bikes.

Hi rich, there are two versions of the gsx650f. By looking at the bike there is really very little to differentiate. there is a LAMS version and a Non Lams Version. to check get the rego of the bike and go to the rta website and do a free rego check. under conditions it should have LA LA. I have one and i did this check to be triple sure. If you buy off a dealer even better because they should be able to guarantee this [censored word removed]

I have the unrestricted version, designated GSX650F. The restricted version is designated GSX650FU. The restricted bike has a grey "F" on the fairing decal, while the unrestricted has a red "F". Another good indicator is the power - accelerate in 3rd gear from low revs & see if it jumps away after you pass 7000rpm. I often ride with my son who has a GSXR750 & he is amazed at how well I can stick with him. :)

I've had my bike from new for 5 years & still love it. I have been riding road bikes for 35 years, this is my 5th machine & it is the best all round bike I've owned. I use it to commute to work & I regularly take long trips on it (700km each way). 3 interstate tours as well. Great bike, but watch it at super low speed & in car parks - it's a bit top heavy & easy to drop if the wheels aren't turning (<10kph). I recently had a centre stand fitted (not standard) & it's brilliant. Enjoy!
