Staff are incredibly rude and lack basic customer service skills. Got there 6:30 when basketball courts open and could even see one person even using a half court but some how they’re not open till 8? Pure incompetencey at its finest, couldn’t throw a stone in the ocean those staff.

On my way to recovery thanks to Sydney University Sports & Aquatic Centre – After being ejected from Camperdown Fitness Annandale NSW for my disability and with my assistance dog It took several weeks to regain the courage to look at alternative gyms. On first visit to Sydney University Sports & Aquatic Centre, I was greeted with open arms. I did my first work out in nearly two years and on my way to recovery, Thank You big time SUSAC.

This place hates Blacks and Asian people – The staff at the front desk are always so rude, when I show up with my Asian friends, however the times I show up with my White friends the treatment is completely different. One time we showed up at the facility to workout at 7am, the staff said all courts were not free for basketball, I called my white friend to tell him not to come anymore, he… Read more

told me he was already inside the stadium and there were 2 free courts, by that time I was already on my way home and upset I decided to just not go. One of the best stadiums in Sydney, however the staff there are disgusting.

Affordable gym wide variety of equipment – I have been a member for at least several years and have found front desk staff to be mostly quite helpful. The facilities are good quality and generally well looked after. If I do encounter any insolent behaviour it is from young gym junkies throwing their egos and weight around, However, they are in the minority and lurk in every gym. I use the… Read more

general gym area and have also used the boxing gym. I have not witnessed any of the aforementioned discrimination from staff, and am grateful that a top class gym is accessible at an affordable rate.

Ageist and Anti Asian Discrimination by Management at Sydney University Gym and Aquatic Centre – Worst case of discrimination I have ever experienced anywhere in the world from a blue eyed white male. I was training with a friend who is younger and Asian . I was asked if I was paying him to train with me. Apparently I am not allowed to have friends who are not the same age as myself. This type of attitude belongs in the school playground.… Read more

I did not know this type of backward attitude existed in Australia in 2018. I am disgusted and deeply embarrassed that Sydney University would employ someone with such an appalling low quality of human decency. The blue eyed white male then also proceed to tell my that my younger Asian friend who was still drenched in sweat from our workout together had actually not been doing any training but had only been watching me train. I would advise all Asian people to stay away from this gym and speak to the Dean of the University to have this supposed gym manager removed immediately.

Emails? Service? – They do not answer all their emails. Hope they are not deleting them. The staff can be rude and not helpful - not happy to see members.

Terrible administration and rude staff – I lost 2 classes waiting for the staff to move me to the next level classes. As they never contacted me, I sent emails asking what was going on and they replies always after 3 to 5 days were "we have too many emails". Then I called to the swimming pool and the person on the phone literally didn't have any idea of nothing (no even when the term… Read more

ends) and giving me as solution "send an email".

Finally after 3 weeks I was booked on my next class and I tried to fix my lost classes with the person on the desk but it was totally unhelpful and rude. Blaming me for not going myself to the pool and just get into a random class with no booking or confirmation and almost telling me to "go away" at the end of the conversation.

I'll never come back to this place.

Badly managed sports and aquatic Centre – Quite a few staff are extremely rude and unhelpful. If you criticize anything they threaten to kick you out and never let you use the facilities. Most of the pool is hired out to groups from 3pm till close on week days and for much of weekends. The few remaining lanes can be very crowded which makes it difficult to swim laps.

Staff can be rude – In general most staff have been great, but I have encountered at least two extremely rude staff who have also been unhelpful.

The manager is rude – I provided medical certificates for rescheduling a few of my swimming lessens as I was sick. The manager told me they won’t do make up lessens for me as the ones I missed was from last term. However this rule was not in the agreement. She even told me she is the manager and she is now telling me the rules. I told her she should have told me before I paid or have included these rules in the agreement. Her attitude was very very rude.

Disappointing Swim School Policies – This feedback is specific to the Swim School. I hope this review will inform future students of the swim school to consider. I go for evening lessons once a week after work. Unfortunately on Tue 21 Mar 17, there was extreme thunderstorms that striked Sydney. Commuters heading home in the rush hour were all affected. Trees uprooted, road… Read more

accidents, flash floods, train stations shut - chaos. A journey that would normally take me 30min took me 1h15min. I made multiple calls to the school throughout my journey to tell them I was stuck on the road in gridlock and they told me to email to reschedule. I took their advice & emailed the school.

Unfortunately the reponses I have received from them are upsetting. They wrote back saying that they can only reschedule if I gave 72hr notice or provide a MC otherwise I have to pay to reschedule. I replied saying that there is absolutely no way to foresee or predict that the extreme weather is going to cause widespread havoc that evening. What I asked for was decency in considering that the abovementioned was out of my control. I did everything possible to call the school and even got my friend who was already there to let them know.

They further responded saying that i didn't give them "enough warning" & without 72hr notice, they couldn't offer my place to someone else who needs a makeup lesson (aka they lose $19.50). 72hr notice for the effects of weather that I can't predict?! What baffles me is that the policy accepts MCs if someone fall sick that day but not other unforeseen uncontrollable acts of God. Makes me wonder if we'll be treated similarly should a student met other unforeseen circumstances/emergencies.

I emphasise the issue here is not the rescheduling fee but the principle behind it. Disappointed as this swimschool is part of & represents the prestigious Education institution, Sydney Uni that endeavours to produce successful students & NOT intimidate them to succumb to the centre's "Profit&Loss" driven goals. Shame.

Needs to improve – The cafe is not the best for a gym. Food can be stale ( not 100% sure but I think they sell food from the previous day). Cakes are on the counter rather than in fridge conditions. Hardly ever have enough fruit and vegetables for raw juice. Very dirty and tables are nearly always full of dirty plates. Customer service can be very poor at cafe.… Read more

Managers are not open fully to feedback. Internet at gym sometimes not working. Staff sit around doing little. The lockers hardly ever work. The equipment needs to be maintained more frequently. The wifi at the cafe does not seem to work - driving customers away.

Agree with the reviews here which say that the customer service is poor. People are not valued by staff and no treated with respect.

Good – The pool is a fantastic 50 meter heater pool. But not too hot to work out in. You can't use the whole pool however when there is training on. The H W Ward gym is great. A lot more low key with enough equipment to give you a good variety. And usually approachable staff who will help you out if you're not sure of anything. The main gym does… Read more
