3 different issues in 2 years, useless.
Not happy. This is the 3rd issue I have raised on the same TV within 2 years.
TV RESTARTS BY ITSELF, no matter what I am watching if it is Netflix, Disney+, fetch set top box or from a USB drive. There is no pattern we could be watching for hours or 30mins and it just shuts off and restarts. FRUSTRATING.
Issue 1 within 6 months of purchase. - picture kept dropping out, just sound and a blank screen. every time had to shut the tv off and then turn it back on again, eventually had to replace motherboard.
Issue 2 a year later. All streaming ...Read more
apps stopped, except for Netflix. Was on the phone to support for hours trying a bunch of things to resolve it, they forced an update and still nothing. So TCL Service emailed an update, I had to put this onto a USB and I had to manually update the TV myself using the service function. Was ok for a day then stopped working again and was told by TCL service that to fix it I had to go into the settings, refresh the time on the clock and to resolve it.Purchased in December 2018 at JB Hi-Fi for A$2,000.00.

So far so good. Maybe add a 5 year warranty and still come out much cheaper than equivalents
Had this 2 years - so far its good. Only use it for streaming. An exceptional picture quality and very good H & K sound for the price - we have an expensive Yamaha sound bar but don't always use it. Initial android system was a bit buggy but it updated after 2 months. It can behave a bit like an android phone in hard use - eg sometimes (not often) boots in safe mode but you just reboot. Those uncomfortable with Android tech might be better with a more limited proprietary main-brand system. I was wary of the brand, so purchased a 5 year concierge warranty with Good Guys - total price with warranty ($1996 less $250 cash back offer plus $299 warranty) was $1000 less than most equivalents at the time.
Purchased in October 2018 at The Good Guys for A$1,746.00.

Do not buy this TV
TV starts off great good picture quality, but after 13 months we can now watch a maximum of 5 minutes of commercial TV before the screen goes black and you need to turn it off at the power point, remote unresponsive.
Things go wrong fully understand but their warranty team is nothing short of crap. Sent an email no response, rang them a few days later they send me a software update to load. The update fails to load send them an email stating it did not work as per their instruction and surprise no response.
Wish I had stuck with Kogan or Samsung, which I still have and are going strong 10+ years later. Granted I am the idiot that took the salespersons advice at The Good Guys when I went in for the Samsung.
Purchased at The Good Guys.

Wifi, Safe mode, Freeview, Customer service. All crap.
Turning off the TV can take 4 attempts, Goes into safe mode. Wifi wont login to modem, its only 2 metres away from the TV. Freeview is missing channels. Try to get customer service, what a joke.

2 yr life span on ALL TCL tv's 55" or bigger, PROVEN built-in obsolescence.
Great specs and size, but like all the TCL tv's they will ALWAYS stop working after 2 years, almost to the day. ( They ALL seem to do this. )
LUCKILY, it comes with a 3yr warranty, which you can use once and the TV fixed or USUALLY replaced as thay usually CAN'T be fixed.
Slow start up.

Extreamly buggy operating system
Extremely buggy operating system, slow and full of glitches. Sound quality is great for the price, picture quality is decent. waited for nearly 2 years and still no updates. So don't buy TCL thinking that they will fix their bugs on future updates because, TCL doesn't care about its consumers. They only care about selling as many unit as possible with what ever crap TV they have. Would give 4 star if the operating system did its job. Bought hisense tv and the OS is much better and price is similar. I wont recommend TCL to anyone. Go for Samsung, Lg, Sony or hisense.
Purchased in November 2018 at Costco for A$1,700.00.

Over 1 year in and still going strong (sort of)
We purchased this TV during the boxing day sales of 2018. There's been quite a few bugs but our TV has being going strong...until 2 weeks ago. I noticed that the screen went black whilst my kida were watching something on Disney+ through the TV app. The audio was still working but there was only black to be seen. I restart the TV and all was good, until a dayboe so later when it happened again, this time whilst watching Foxtel. Each day it got progressively worse until it would go blavk every 5 mins and it was, of course, unusable by that point...Read more
. I called TCL and thankfully kept the receipt. They sent out a technician who let us know that every single 75 inch TCL and Samsung TV has the same issue and the same component needs changing. He's done 500 in just the last few months! So keep your receipt handy as you'll be needing to call TCL sometime soon if you haven't yet!Purchased in December 2018 at The Good Guys for A$1,800.00.

Good TV, was hoping for better, quality issues.
75 inch TCL 4K UHD TV for less than $2,500 in 2018, the TV is a great size and the picture quality is great for too, blacks could be deeper.
The android TV is good but can be a little troublesome, getting stuck and restarting at will on rare occasions. The google assistant integration into the home works ok but I was expecting better, if it ran more as a hub it would be better.
Sound isn't great, you will want a soundbar if you want to watch any decent movies with some good audio.
Now to the issues, 6 months after buying we got some weird gl...Read more
itches, turn off or on randomly, started every so often then got more often, then we would lose image but sound would continue. After many calls and emails with TCL we are finally getting a tech out shortly as the TV now loses image after 15 seconds, apparently the tech will swap a main board. I have read this might only fix the issue for a time then it will eventually fail out of warranty. I'll update after the tech and see how it goes. Verdict: if you can wait, save more money and buy a Sony, I'd recommend that.Purchased in September 2018 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for A$2,481.00.

GREAT VALUE
Decided we wanted a larger TV for our family of 5 to watch films etc together. This TV is perfect, and great value for the money we spent. With the Smart TV to I’m able to watch Netflix’s and continuous kids TV programs which is amazing.
Picture quality is great and functions are easy to use.

Budget Smart 75" for under 2k
Purchased the TCL at JB HIFI with the sales as I found this to be the cheapest 4k Smart TV at the time and all other major sellers were the same price, JB had free delivery.
Pros: Smart TV with an Android OS, BIG screen, in-built sound bar, very easy setup (less than 5 mins), Play Store for apps, WIFI and LAN connections, remote is easy to use, OS is FAST, 3 year warranty, Price.
Cons: Only 2 HDMI connections, 1 minute boot (but can turn on Fast Start = <20 secs)
Did the store visit and played with a few brands (LG, Samsung, Hisense...Read more
) and the TCL is surprisingly good. I must admit I was a little nervous about the brand and all the bad feedback with the slow booting. Mine - I turned on the Fast Start feature and it worked fine. You need to play a little with the colour setting to get it right, the panel is quite bright out of the box. Easiest TV to setup that I have owned to date and the OS is the fastest (Currently have a Hisense, Samsung and LG), EPG is quick to load and has all details. Tested ghosting with watching the tennis and was extremely happy with the 100hz rate. Full access to the Play Store is a bonus. With the 3 year warranty it was worth the gamble for me as the screen will be mainly used for Netflix, Stan and movies. For the hard core this TV will not cut it but for the everyday person wanting size over picture quality (compared to an OLED) this TV does not disappoint. Installed into my Media room 3m x 4m and it does not look out of place and compliments the room very well. Will update this review if I experience anything negative with the TV.Similar opinion? Installed on wall 4 says ago. Just wanted a 75 inch TV so didn’t want to spend a fortune. So for 2k delivered price was perfect. I rang TCL & purchased extra voice remote $70 (delivered in 3 days) voice command is brilliant. So sar so good, had a chat to customer service and he said more than happy anytime to help out if needed.
We could not be happier with the quality of picture, the easiest smart tv I’ve had to operate for apps, YouTube Netflix ect.
The bonus here is they even offer 3 year full warranty for peace of mind at no extra cost (s...Read more

As a budget choice! it's perfect!
First this all for a 75inch Tv, this tv's price is pretty good! So you need evaluate it combined with it's price.
Advantage: 75inch big enough, price good, 4k output. Android TV system you can install any Tv app as you wish use google store or USB port. Chromecast build-in. Looks beautiful.
Disadvantage: Old panel version, compare to new version panel, the display is not good enough. Only 3 hdmi ports, seems not enough.
I will definitely recommend this product!

Looks good so far
The TV was an upgrade from 55" plasma , so its big change from the old
The tv was not that hard to setup , how ever the Tv remote was faulty from the start , next day the seller swapped it for a known working unit
Pricing was good for the size and it far from being the top of the line Oled or Qled tv , then again you dont pay under $2500 - $150 refund card promotion - for this size TV for a QLed or Oled system
TV tuner quality is good , and better the an the foxtel IQ2 for free to air channels , have alarge audio 7.1 system so the...Read more

Not worth buying
Bought this 75 inch 4K TCL tv a couple of months back believing we are upgrading. Other than the screen size, everything is a disappointment.
The Android software is awful. It is highly erratic and annoying. The customer support helped me with the hard reset, software update, etc but nothing improved. The TV keeps coming up with new faults all the time.
My small external soundbar is better than it's Harman Kardon sound system.
The picture quality is worse than my 10 year old Samsung. Forget about 4k, you will dislike even the HD. I believe there is too much background bleeding.
Very disappointed. Have sent emails to the customer service for refund but they haven't even responded.
Save your money, go and buy a renowned brand!

Has anyone had problems with the built in chrome cast?

I've had problems with everything. Worst of all is the after sales service. TCL just don't care.
We have had the technician 4 times plus software updates and still TCL will not replace the tv they want the technician to take it away and run further tests and JB HiFi won’t collect it until stage 4 is over.

I purchased TCL (75C4US) August 2018, and was working fine until last week (May 2020) when it started blacking out with sound going... each time had to only restart with power off. Tried following steps to fix myself and with TCL contact center technician:
1. Removed all devices connected with Coaxial, USB and/or USB
2. Updated the software.
3. Reset to factory settings.
Nothing fixed the problem. TCL will arrange technician to visit and inspect in 24/48 hrs.

Contact TCL and they'll send out a technician to replace a part that is a known problem in all TCL and Sony 75inch TVs. Had mine fixed and have had no problems since.
