TCL tv bad TV – so bad experience! within one year, one day TV decided not to start. Called TCL for repair - It takes 2 weeks to repalace . Problem resurfaces after 2 months agian during the COVID where you need the TV the most. Again call technician, TCL for complain - They repaired the TV again with refurbished Motherboard. Upon checking with TCL they said it… Read more
is common practice. I Only come to know because of one of the apps linked to other e-mail address. This time Chromecast was not working. Again call the TCL and Technician. Technician call TCL to submit the report .they said as the service ticket was closed technician has to resubmit the report requesting the replacement TV. one to two week lost. After that TCL received the new report. It goes to their headquarter for further review. Another 2 weeks lost for final approval. I received that application is approved they will send me the new TV which may take 10 working days. Another 2 weeks lost. It is very frustrating to talk with the customer care people as they are from overseas and can not provide a real answer. It is like talking to a machine. They said the new TV will not come with a new warranty and it will be only valid same as my OLD years which a couple of months left now. I am without the TV now for more than 4 weeks, not sure how long will it take
Very nice tv ,great price and more apps than you can poke a stick at – connecting sound bar can be tricky because some settings have been renamed . Im a mug and muddled through it and got it working. Tcl ,great tv for the price and solidly built. Show details
Amazing 65" 4k TV for under 1K – Ended up being a pile of junk. Sound died, internet stopped updating things. Threw it out in the end. Show details
A fair bit of tweaking required and very slow start up – While this TV was at a really good price for 65", it did show why in the software and display. TV's are always coming down in price as tech advances. I got a great deal on this one with The Good Guys retail store. The saying stands "you pay for what you get". The software that runs this (android based) is super slow in start up. It takes a… Read more
good couple of minutes unless to turn on. There is a mode that enables quick boot but we have issues with the audio codecs not working right. The display is 4K enabled which does work but I had to tweak the settings a lot. The display was very VERY dim and had to turn up a lot of settings to make it look less like what you would see from a projector. TCL is a good brand but this UHD TV did not meet my expectations. I think more work needs to be done perhaps on the CPU and perhaps defaulting better settings.
Works great! – Every feature of the TV works exactly how it should, quality of the display is great! Would recommend for anyone looking for a relatively cheap TV. Wireless on the TV works great, has the right amount of ports. Everything just works like it is meant to Extremely happy with my purchase. Show details
Xmas present – Happy with the tv and have set it up to function how I prefer. Only draw back is the remote as it takes about 30 secs to 60 secs to show on screen. It has a good selection of ports I purchased a sound bar and works very well as the speaker in the tv is a little weak. Was a half price purchase as it was on a 1 day sale. Show details
I love it – Thanks, it’s an amazing cheap TV that completely looks at home in our lounge area. Don’t believe the hype of other brands grab yourself a bargain and get one now. Thanks Happy Days...... Not user friendly – Purchased this television 12 months ago and never happy with it from day one. Picture is okay but takes more than a minute to turn on and the remote not user friendly and very slow to respond. Free-view logo in top left corner constantly freezes and remains on screen even when changing channels with only way to remove in to unplug from back of television to reset. Wish I"d purchased a better television like a Sony or Samsung instead. Show details
Buggy, cheaply made - avoid – - Operating system is buggy, would get stuck trying to turn on or stuck loading app and I would have to reboot. - TV takes a full minute to turn on each time. - After 4 months TV abruptly died and TCL’s customer service refused to honor warranty. - You can now get Sonys and Panasonics for not much more now, it’s worth it for the better quality. Truth about TCL – Bought a 4K TV and had it installed. Blueray DVD does not convert at all through Soundbox. Had technician come out to change motherboard and still doesn't play blueray. Not only does the sound doesn't work, but also movement of voice is delayed with sound when played through TV. Should have bought a Sony, Panasonic or Samsung. Very disappointing that we need to get an approval from TCL to replace TV. Not fair. Show details
Perfect screen easy to use with unbelievable price from Big Guys – Flash sale from Good Guys with $200 Coles cash coupon, the actual net price is less than $1100. It comes with android ready. Picture resolution is good and the sound system can improve 15 or 20w. Value for money. I installed on a movable stand, it is perfectly fine. Attached a picture for buyers’ reference. Show details
Buyers Beware! Buggy Dumb TV – Picture quality is average for the price, not great for sport, and you'll get some sort of light leak with this panel, and looks like most would have dark edges at the bottom for this model, which isn't great for the price, I've seen cheaper TV at bigW that don't have dark corner issue. Built in speaker is not so good as expected, for the slim… Read more
panel, you won't get good size speaker to fit in.
The big issue with this "Smart" TV is that it's so buggy, you have to expect a long boot up time around 1~2 minutes, which is annoying, the fast boot option doesn't work(confirmed with TCL support), HDR is crap or fake, it just make the colours wrong and lighter area are over exposed, dark area too dark, so I don't use their crappy HDR feature. UI response is pretty slow consider a 2018 smart tv, it's so laggy even my early 2000s tv feel faster. There are also bugs with headphone out, which you'll get no sound when fast boot works(which is very rare).
For the RRP, this is way overpriced, for a buggy tv like this, it should priced like other cheap tv in bigw.
Most of the problems came from their buggy software, and beware, AFAIK, TCL use this same firmware on all their TV, which means even the high end one would have the same snail tv experience.
Would I buy a TCL product again? Never! Lesson learnt!

Not Bad for the Price – I have to try and not compare this TV with the one it was replacing - an LG plasma. If you were to compare the picture quality you'd be disappointed. However for the price, features list the TV is good. I still think the Chinese branded TV's lag behind the Korean in terms of software. *I've already had an issue with the TV and it's less than a… Read more

On HD FTA TV channels it is starting to Pixelate. It starts after about 30 minutes and it won't go away. The only way to fix it is to turn the power off and turn back on again. This looks like a memory/buffer issue on one of the boards.
Not happy about that. The sound quality is average.
Nothing else comes close in the value stakes – The TV shows a nice picture. Having used Android before it was all very familiar even if the version used was a few years old. My only complaint is the slowness of the operating system. It seems there is nothing "smart" about modern TV's and this one was no exception. It came loaded with "bloatware" from the manufacturer which causes delays… Read more
with button pushes and syncing issues with Netflix whereby the video freezes intermittently.
The positive was the support team were excellent to deal with however I think the issue will need further analysis as the "freezing" problem persists.
TIP # 1: Go in and force stop or disable as many of the app's you as can as this helps with the slowness. Just don't touch anything with a little green android symbol next to it as this is most likely part of the operating system and should be left alone.
TIP # 2: If you don't like waiting 35 seconds for the TV to boot up every time you turn it on, activate the "instant power" function using the below instructions which reduces turn-on to just 3 seconds. Power consumption remains the same but remember to hold the power button down every once in a while which forces a reboot of the system to check for updates etc.
1. Press the "gear" symbol on the remote control which is located just above the "up" arrow (this is not to be confused with the gear symbol on the android home screen) then select System >
Instant power on and press OK/► to enter.
2. Press ▲/▼ to select On and press OK to
confirm.
3. Press EXIT or to close the menu
Amazing Picture Quality & Smart Features at a Budget price – Am extremely happy with the picture quality and all the super features available on this TV, beaming video clips from mobile device to tv is simple and fast, only con is having to wait around 30 seconds for TV to boot up as it runs on Android. Other than that all is perfect.
