I've had this tv for 5 years and have had no issues with it..great tv.. Show details
This is one of the worst TV you could ever buy – This TV is soo slow it takes longer than boiling a kettle. You could also get crashes in the middle of watching the TV. It really is using some of the cheapest part in the Memory card. Lastly I would never have it as my main TV ever. Maybe as a monitor or something. If you can live with absolute rock bottom quality in terms of how long it takes to load every menu and every apps. Show details
Good TV in terms of most things but slooooooow!!! – It’s a good value for money product but it’s slow and takes a long while to turn on and takes time even to jump from apps like YouTube to Netflix. Show details
Good TV but not the best – Good TV for watching movies with friends and family. Not good for gaming. It has HDMI port for connectivity. The remote is responsive and great. The picture quality is very good. Value for money. Show details
Just perfect for the living room – Great picture, easy functions, SMART, analogic, has everything to link with the internet. Best of times ahead. Needed a new TV and it was easy to purchase and never look back Show details
New TV – Wow, amazing, clear and great value for money. I'm so glad I decided to purchase the TCL HDTV. It is amazing to watch, fantastic picture, very easy to use and set up. Very happy with my purchase!
TCL 75in tv – Recently I bought a tcl 75 inch smart tv extremely happy with it great picture and easy to connect to the internet and YouTube the colours are fantastic and crystal clear Show details
OK for the price but with stability issues – Like: The image and menus are good and the fact that is has an adjustable sound delay. That comes in handy with youtube videos with varying image-sound delay and with my sound bar. I could never use the sound bar with my previous Samsung but it works fine with the TCL. Not like: Doesn't listen to the remote very well and I have to reset the TV every couple of days because it just freezes. Show details

Huge screen size, good brightness and local dimming, motion rate management isn't perfect – I bought this TV on sale for $5999 a month ago as it was simply too cheap to ignore anymore. It's not perfect, and doesn't have all of the features of the premium TV sets and brands, but all in all I'd say it's a fantastic buy at this price. The colour on nearly all of the standard picture presets is terrible and only the Movie option presents… Read more
anything approaching real life colours. It also has a tendency to set itself slightly on the dark side, so you may choose to boost the brightness up from the standard 80% on the Movie setting.
The motion engine seems to get a little lost when watching ball sports and can seemingly slow-down during very fast moving passages of play in the game, especially if the action is quite crowded and detailed. It's like it loses sight of the ball and wants to compensate briefly. At first I found it annoying, but now find it almost useful in seeing what is happening, but it would be nice if you could just turn the motion engine off and go straight to the 100hz panel instead and see things in their natural state.
I have upgraded to the latest Apple TV 4K at the same time, and when streaming Apple TV+ 4K content it has all come through using Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos with noticeably better light source and colour management than when I play straight HDR10 movies from a file off a computer. But both still look wonderful on that massive 100" screen all the same, and at times it feels like you are standing in front of an ocean liner it's so big. For those of you wondering if it is too big, don't worry, it's not. It's really just very life-like. I sit 2-2.5 meters back and it still fits into my full range of sight. I think going back to a 75" afterwards would be difficult now to be honest.
The built in sound was pretty good, but I only used it briefly before I switched to going through the SPIDF to a Sonos Playbase with subwoofer and satellites for a full 6 channel surround experience. There are no issues with recognition or conversion of the audio signal from the TV and it nearly always comes through as 5.1 sound unless the source was only 2.0 or mono in the first place. It also down mixes the Dolby Atmos to 5.1 automatically too. A slight gripe is that you can't disable the onboard speakers and sound, but I just plugged in a cable to the headphone jack to disable it instead.
About the only frustration I have had with it was the two bluetooth-only remotes that come with it have no support for IR. This meant I couldn't synchronise the volume control with my Sonos Playbase using the Sonos app. I was able to work around it with a Logitech Harmony remote after I downloaded a profile for a TCL 55P715, but it has meant I use more than one remote with the TV now depending on what functions I need to access. Again, this isn't really a showstopper or big deal just a minor annoyance initially.
In terms of logistics, getting it into my house took 3 huge delivery guys (one built like the Rock) and I have it on a lower profile stand (only 25cm high) to compensate for the increased screen size. I actually think this improves the viewing angle giving you a more cinematic experience. I used the supplied legs/stand instead of wall mounting it as I was worried the 100KG weight would actually drag it off the wall.
Overall I am very happy with the TV and feel I have purchased the bargain-of-the-century given it is retailing for anywhere between $8-12000 new right now. At $6000 it has got me into a 100" TV maybe 6 years ahead of what I would have expected it to take before prices on them dropped to a reasonable enough level that they weren't going to cost tens of thousands of dollars anymore.
Terrible backlight bleeding and constantly disconnects from the internet, even with a wired LAN connection – My unit exhibited terrible backlight bleeding that was visibile even in moderately lit scenes, and had a connection problem that caused it to frequently disconnect from the internet. TCL warranty service were useless, arguing that the disconnections were due to my modem (it had no problem connecting to my laptop or my two previous TVs) and that… Read more
the backlight bleeding was 'acceptable'.
I would advise you to steer clear of TCL products, you will get less than what you have paid for.
Peice of rubbish – Tv 4 days old now it's just a glowing black screen barely done 8 hrs work wow they don't make me like they used too ,can't even make it too warranty expires
Glitchy, Glitchy, Glitchy – I bought a TCL 43P715 TV from JB Hi Fi in Brisbane in May 2021. Likes: The picture, the features, the price and the sound. All these things are great. Dislikes: The TV was glitchy from day one, "time shift" was something I needed, the shortcut never worked, it was a three or four press operation to get to it otherwise. The TV tried to launch… Read more
Chromecast twice by it's self, putting up a blank screen and taking a while to get back to live TV. Google assistant didn't work most of the time so we turned it off, however it kept asking us to turn it back on. There were other small software problems too. To TCL's credit, technical support was good albeit a bit slow. They tried hard for the first few days with software updates and resets but nothing worked. The straw that broke the camels back was after a week of trying they gave me a pathetic fix, it was.... "try turning Time Shift on" it's been turned on from day one, and also, "let us know if you have any other problems." In fact Tech Support had checked this feature was activated early in the piece, so I was insulted but this request and felt they had given up on fixing my problems. After a week I'd had enough and took the TV back to JB HiFi and bought another brand. I read reviews on this television before I bought it, most were glowing so I may have been unlucky and got a lemon, never the less, TCL should have been more co-operative and offered a refund. I could never touch another TCL product again....scared for life.
Good picture quality and apps but slooooow! – I purchased this TV from the Good Guys ebay store and picked up from my local store. That process was simple. When I got the TV home it was easy to unbox and set up with 4 screws to get the footing mounts on. Set up took a relatively short amount of time although I believe there was the option to speed things up by connecting your Google account… Read more
which I didn't opt for at the time. Super light so easy to carry and move if necessary (10kg including stand). I mainly chose this TV because it was an Android TV and had access to in particular to the Disney+ app which I was planning on getting a subscription for. (Otherwise I might have considered Hisense but found that a number of there models did not support the Disney+ app)(At least not inbuilt) I paid $636AUD with a 20% discount (down from $795) that ebay was offering by paying using afterpay. I think the 55" TV would have been a better size but the 50" does the job. I've watched quite a lot of Disney+ and a few DVD's through the TV and it does a good job for picture quality although to be fair I haven't compared to high end O-LED tv's or anything but I feel for the price to get a 4K TV it's good. Connected via wifi and it's streaming fine. Remotes are slim and light which is nice. Has a 2nd remote for voice features that I haven't used yet. Youtube works well but it's a pain to type in searches. Although that being said very simple casting app / share screen that does the job. I've used that quite a few times and it works well.
Biggest gripe is the speed. Starting up the TV takes a while and navigating apps is slow. I haven't had it crash but it's just slow. If that sort of thing gets to you it's probably worth spending a little more to get a TV that is know for fast processing.
All in all a decent TV for the price. I wasn't comfortable buying a second hand, worried it might die on me and I'd have no one to blame but myself so that's why I got this one. At least I've got a year warranty.

Overall good & ultimate user friendly – Light weight (only 10 kilograms unit and feet) yet sturdy. Nice design. There are two nice and slim remote control units. One of them is much longer with full controls while the other has partial controls. It is hassle free to set up even to a person with limited android system knowledge like me. Built-in TV tuner is something one can't find from… Read more
almost all other brands (and series). Voice control is one of the major point I'm interest in. It is much more convenient than button clicks. It can also fix a lot of issues which can't be done by remote control buttons. Price is about 1/3 to 1/2 of a good brand like Sony or Samsung yet picture and sound are just a little shy of. It is the most comprehensive TV, in term of both hardware and software, I could find in the market regardless brands or price range. 3 Year warranty. Highly recommend to "perfect TV" hunters.
Terrible product. Terrible brand – Bought a 75 inch tcl led TV in the black Friday sales. Immediately after getting it home had major issues. Freezes constantly. TV interface lags badly. Slow to boot up. Apps crash. Audio sync is terrible and is different for each app, some apps cannot be watched at all due to the bad lag and mismatched audio and visual. The panel itself has… Read more
atrocious black bleeding around the edges.
I contacted JB hi Fi where I bought the TV and they told me to contact TVL customer support directly for trouble shooting. Rang them and they guided my through a factory reset and made sure my software was up to date which it was. They told me to send evidence of my issues through to them and they would contact me WITHIN 2 BUSINESS DAYS to arrange a technician to come and see me.
It has now been well over 2 months and no one has contacted me. The TV is still as terrible as ever. Apps freeze constantly. Audio not matching visuals. Black bleeding terrible.
I regret not buying a Samsung or LG. The only thing worse than the product itself is the customer service.
Please do yourself a favour and avoid this brand. This wasn't a cheap TV and I have huge buyers regret.
Awesome 100 inch TV at a good price – I bought this two weeks ago at Harvey Norman on Black Friday to replace a 100 inch screen/projector in a dedicated home theatre. Saved $3,000 on RRP. Very happy with the brightness, sharpness and features. Picture quality comparable with a 65 inch Sony in an adjacent lounge room but soooo much bigger! The newer version Android TV operating… Read more
system is also now much better to use, and has apps for all streaming services, not limited by proprietary restrictions found on some brands. The system is regularly updated by Google.
I used optical cable to connect to an existing 6.1 surround sound system and it works faultlessly but multiple HDMI ports are available including ARC. The TV internal speakers reflect off the back wall and are quite loud and clear. Sounded adequate at installation, but I have them turned down and use a home theatre 6.1 audio system. One minor annoyance if you mute, then a small icon remains on screen, so just turn down to a setting of 1 and the indication disappears.
I was able to connect Sony WX-1000 bluetooth headphones directly to using the menu bluetooth settings. (Have not been able to do so with a Sony using Android TV). Speakers mute when connected. The volume can be controlled from either the headset, or the remote control. What is nice is that when you turn off the headphones, the volume setting returns to that using the speakers/audio out. That is, you don't end up blasting at headphone volume from the speakers. Nice touch. That said, even Sony headphones are no comparison in sound quality and experience to full surround sound and sub-woofer in a theatre setting. But maybe handy if have to be quiet at night and want the great visual experience.
I installed a USB extension cable and when plugging in a 128GB thumb drive there are no problems reading the directory and playing movies in .mkv or .mp4 format using the intrinsic media player. Also reads directories and plays files on a home network. I used ethernet connection but the WiFi is also easy to setup and fine. The processor on this TCL is much faster than our Sony in connecting to USBs and reading directories and movies of a couple of GB without any buffering. I haven't determined yet whether it will easily address a 500GB or 1TB SSD yet.
The menu settings provide a variety of combinations of dynamic picture suitable for movies, games, sports or general viewing. I have turned down the brightness as it is so sharp and bright in a dim theatre. I find the 4K picture quality very good, especially panoramic views in movies like deserts, forests and snow are crisp and clear but realistic in tones.
Whilst this TV comes with feet, at 100kg it is probably preferable to wall mount for safety. (Without feet it is 94kg.) Once done however, it is difficult to access cables behind so prewire spares into most TV sockets and run down inside the wall before mounting! It is a shame there is no image available of the connection configuration. Power is back left and all the connectors are back right. TV is thicker in the back lower third so bracket mounting is assymetrical and more on the lower half. We used a Sanus VXT7-B2 tilting mount suitable for 136kg panels. It was not available at Harvey (only some cheaper Monster brackets) so I bought separately together with professional cables at Jamell cables. The mount extends in width and fits VESA 400 / 800 patterns but can take taller TVs, heavier ones and can tilt 15% up or down to get the viewing angle perfect. About $300. Fixed to a double brick wall.
This TCL TV model comes with a standard large remote and an extra compact one with voice control. Very intuitive and easy to use. Can integrate with Google to assist voice commands but I choose not to. A good two-page spec sheet for the TV is on the TCL website.
Unfortunately installation by the "tech2" mob recommended and paid for by Harvey Norman was really rough, even with three guys, they gouged the wall lifting it - but the TV survived delivery and the wall hanging. If I did it again I would use a professional commercial team. As a relatively new product, I was hesitant to purchase, but have not encountered any problems in set-up, connection to an older but substantial sound system, or other devices. (Just get all your cables and connections worked out in advance.) The manual is simplistic - because it just works - and the menu intuitive.
I had previously considered TCL and HiSense as the bargain basement KMart level product but have been very impressed with the quality of the panel and picture, at a better price than the Samsung, LG, Sony trio are likely to be when they eventually have 100inch TVs. I honestly can't see how any better quality image is possible. This is a great replacement for an existing home theatre with projector; with 4K resolution and so much better brightness and contrast. Highly recommended.
An amendment. The Android TV operating system doesn't offer a clean compact listing of programs EPG as on a Sony. Google / TCL seem to have forced the EPG onto an ugly and confusing FreeView program app which is almost unusable. May appeal to Samsung users but busy and clumsy from my perspective. Makes use of the TV function frustrating. This is probably not the fault of TCL but the Android TV OS. Again, that said, the huge 4K panel is great for movies and streaming services in 4K, but for lower resolution SD broadcast TV, the poorer image resolution is quite apparent.
Don’t even bother – I bought this TV 6 weeks ago from appliances online. Noticed really bad clouding and it gets so bad at night and can see it during movies. The streaming apps are really up and down and don’t even bother with the built in chromecast. I had to buy my own chromecast to stream anything half decent on the TV. Also the TV can hardly handle the new Xbox… Read more
despite the specs. Appliances online want nothing to do with it and put me on to the TCL who tell me everything is normal, it is a complete joke and wish I never went through either of appliances online or TCL, never again!
3 yr Warranty is useless – I purchased a TCL 55P715 TV on the 27th July 2020 from the Good Guys in Bankstown NSW and had it delivered to my home. I unboxed the product to trial before moving house 23 days ago, Within 2 weeks the TV had a horizontal line and blotching down the left handside of the screen. I followed up with customer support and sent them all the… Read more
documentation and photo evidence they requested. They have diagnosed the problem as a cracked screen, and refuse to fix or replace the product. It has been in use for 17 days before being reported! Unfortunately I still have 2 other TCL TVs to unbox. Stick to the reputed brands because of customer service and reputation, TCL has a long way to go to catch up to Samsung, Sony or LG. If it is not replaced I plan to go to the ACCC.
Every dollar well spent on this smart tv couldn't fault it – Very user friendly so easy in fact a 2year old could use it within 5mins of setting it up would be good for old people aswell glad i actually picked this brand Show details
Bang for your buck – My first venture into smart TV's, after reviewing all the brands around the 65" size TV's , the 65P715 came out on top with me with regards to functionality, accessibility and ease of use. Happy wife happy life. Show details
Excellent TV for the price – Purchased this at Harvey Norman being the 43inch Android TV for $695.00. I had a tech set this up for me as it was my first smart tv. Everything is perfect about the TV and I saved around $300.00 by choosing the TCL. Apps a little tricky to get used too but because I have a google account , I downloaded a lot of the apps from my google play.
