happy with tefal again! – Our last toaster was a Tefal we got a few years out of it ( it died on one side) so i decided to go with Tefal again. I like the look and it fit where i wanted it to. Happy with the functions. The only thing is that the dial numbers and markings could be clearer as they are difficult to see without glasses!  Show details

15 Years... Still going strong – Purchased this in 2002 when we built our house. I think we paid $100 for it then which was "top dollar". I wouldn't say it has had a hard life with only 3 in the household but has always worked reliably. Crumpets fit well but the timer is a bit quick for them (even on 6) and needs "2 goes" to get them crunchy.  Show details

Poor cant clean it .it has a crumb tray but the crumbs dont fall into it..one feels like smash – Toast is good cleaning it is crap has crumb tray but the crumbs don't fall in it as the toaster seems to sealed . Unless you pull the stupid thing to bits to clean .cleaning it is a nightmare. So not happy with the purchase. Needs to get tossed out and find one that catches the crumbs. ..  Show details

16 years and one side just died – Yes we have had this toaster for 16 years we bought it because we saw it in use at a 5 star hotel. We had a family of 5 which has expanded with foster children, and grandchildren so it definitely has had a workout. I had to laugh at comment that they only got 5 years, I will be happy with five years on any replacement product I get. I am very… Read more

disappointed that I can't source another one. Yes one of the knobs has fallen off the right hand toaster, the same one that has died and probably the one that is used most. Great product in any case will be sorry to see it go.

Broken after 2 months – This is probably the biggest waste of money. Never buy plastic from TeFal is what I've learnt. The left pop up button broke first then the right. POS.

Not happy – I am not happy as my Tefal Avanti 4 slice toaster that I have had for 8 years just died due to a power surge. I have been shopping to try & buy the same or similar but cannot find one :(

Only Five Years – This toaster just died today. Of course, after spending $80 for a toaster, we'd expect it to last longer than five years. The two elements died last week, the remaining died today. Otherwise, except for the short life span, the toaster worked well. I won't buy this brand again; however, as I would expect more time out of an appliance. Toasted well Lasted only five years with light use

You can get alot better for your money! – This has to be the worst toaster I have ever used. It doesn't toast evenly and the bread can sometimes still be soft around the edges, sometimes it doesn't even toast one side. It's been a major frustration from the day we got it home. Large toasting space, great for muffins etc. It doesn't toast evenly the bread can sometimes still be soft around the edges (and that's on the high settings), sometimes it doesn't even toast one side.

Excellent – If you're looking for a 4 slice toaster, then this is definitely a good one to buy. Way better than the Russell Hobbs toaster it replaced! looks great, love the lift function and it is easy to clean Nothing bad about this unit.

Went Well – Bought this 8 years ago and has only just died. Overall it went well though over time it started to toast unevenly. Now the left hand side has stopped working. But considering the expiry dates on most electrical items these days I thought 8 years was quite good. Reliable, lasted 8 years, looked great in our kitchen, easy to use. Toasted unevenly.… Read more

Inconsistent with the toasting, first lot of toast was perfect, the next batch straight after burnt, the next lot too pale etc... Didn't bother me too much but others might find this annoying.

Good – I really liked everything about this toaster, except for the part where it started rusting on the top and sides!? I tried everything to clean it off but nothing worked. This toaster has a great hi-lift function to easily remove the item. I also like that you can set different cooking settings for each toast holder. It cooked the toast evenly,… Read more

which a lot of toasters don't these days. The stainless steel areas began rusting and I was not able to clean it off!! Very weird. Unfortunately it was out of warranty so I live with it til it got so bad that it looked terrible, and I replaced it with another brand of toaster.

Not good enough – Put your $80.00 into something better. Failed after 2 years. The switch in 1 and 2 toaster slotts failed and so did the elements.

Bad – This company did replace my 3rd toaster which was virtually only 2 weeks out of warranty. But as there is only 2 adults using this toaster do not think I will venture to buy another. Good when working love the finish and the useful levers and buttons. Have had 4 Avanti 4 slice toasters and every one has been faulty with the right hand side not… Read more

staying down the latest within 9 months so making one side totally unusable. Cost has been from $110 for 1st to $70 for last 2 I bought.

Good – We've had one for at least 3 or 4 years now. Gets heavy use in the mornings and throughout the day and hasn't skipped a beat! worth the money. I will always spend a bit more on a quality product that will last than buy two or three inferior products thorough the same period! It's a toaster and it might seem a bit over priced but you get what you… Read more

pay for when it comes to kitchen appliances and Tefal is a great brand, both aesthetically and in terms of quality and it's backed by a decent warranty and good customer service. a little bit overpriced but i guess you are paying for a brand name! It is nice looking with polished stainless steel and black.

Good – Pretty good toaster, but no the best out there. Does the job and has lasted for quite awhile. Replacing it because after much use half of the toaster no longer works. Easy to use Only have to use half Has lasted us for years Can quick stop on both sides Frozen bread button and reheat button only on one side Design is a bit out of date The middle handles (to push bread higher) doesn't bring muffins up high enough

Good – It is a good toaster. Does the job - it has had 4 1/2 years moderate use with no problems. I like that if you only need two slices you only have to use half of the toaster, probably saves on energy use and you can set the two halves differently if one person likes their toast darker than the other without having to readjust every time.

OK – I don't think I'd buy this toaster again. I would like to know how the heater elements lasted so long and would be interested if this technology is now part of other brand toasters. I would consider buying another tefal toaster with these heater elements as long as I know that it had a different setup for holding down the bread while toasting.… Read more

This is an obvious design fault. I realise that this is a throw away society, but I don't believe that we should put up with lack of quality, especialy when this toaster cost me over $100. The heater elements are very long lasting. I've had this toaster about 3-4 years now. The mechanism for holding down the slider for when the bread is toasting broke on the side of the toaster that I used the most. I then started to use the other side and this has now broken as well. You have to hold down the toaster slider manualy and wait there while the bread toasts now. I opened the toaster up to try and fix it but could not see any physical damage I.e. this is an electrical/electronic fault. I figure that there's no value in trying to get a spare part, spend the time trying to fix this issue as it would be more cost effective to just buy another toaster.

Terrible – Rubbish. I wish I had taken it back to the shop when I first bought it. I'm so fed up with it I'm buying a new toaster. Doesn't toast evenly. Looks ugly (now!) lift buttons don't work properly. Frozen setting only works on one side.

Bad – Im not overley impressed with this toaster, I have had toasters that cost half the price last longer, The Hi-Lift feature broke within a moneth, and as the toast sits so low in the machine I now burn myself everytime I take the toast out, havnt had any probs with the toast cooking unevenly tho. Cooks toast ok the hi lift function broke within a month!

Terrible – I paid $80 for this toaster and I expected longer usage for this price. The toaster has had minimal usage for a household, average of 3 mornings a week, during the 14 months while it worked, no complaints After only 14 months the lever won't stay down on right side and the cancel button no longer works on left side

OK – Does a good job of cooking toast or muffins or whatever. Pity it makes a mess. I like the design of it and I'll probably get another Tefal when this one fails. Cooks toast fast and evenly. Lots of buttons....that I don't use. Seems reliable enough. Can cook two lots of two for different darkness settings or at different times. Lever to lift up… Read more

item after it is cooked is good, but could lift a little more. Drops crumbs everywhere. Catch tray for this is useless. Twice I have had to blow it out with compressed air as it started tripping the RCD (circuit breaker) on the house. Crumbs wedged inside caused this.

Good – I have found this product to be reliable as I used it on a commercial basis at my work in a cafe. Myself and another person were asked to research and come up with a product to cater to the cafe's needs and suprisingly out of the products on the market we both chose this. 4 adjustable slots and lots of different settings. Quick release and extra… Read more

push up to get those smaller items out without resorting to durastic measures (like a knife!) Reasonable price compared to others with these features and style. It could be better but it's a toaster it doesn't need to do your washing although a digital timer display would have been good.

OK – looks great and does the job just muck around with the setting and leave it when you get it right fits crumpets and muffins the eject buttons seem to jam and the setting for the toast very hard to get right
