The air fryer is quite the beast. Seems very powerful and well constructed. A huge number of functions and look forward to using them all. Show details ·  2

Not worth the money as it doesn't last – My experience with the Tefal Easy Fry Grill and Steam XXL 3-in-1 Air Fryer has been frustrating. The first unit I purchased failed within a year, frequently cutting out during use. After returning it, I was given a replacement, but that one didn’t fare much better—it stopped heating entirely in less than two years. Although it worked well when… Read more

functional, the lack of durability makes it a poor investment. For a high-priced kitchen appliance, I expected far better reliability. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone looking for something that lasts. It’s simply not worth the hassle or the cost.

Poor build and design – The basket fell apart after six months. Loose screws pulled out of plastic frame of basket. Screws end up in the food. Now cant tighten up. Warranty process a bit of a joke. Tefal not much help. Cooks ok but very annoying feature is its an air fryer but starts up in grill function every time you turn it on. Its quite large and poor design means… Read more

electrical connection sticks way out the back so you lose even more bench space. Look for better alternatives with better product support

First air fryer - recommend – Finally gave in and bought an air fryer. Chose the Tefal because we liked the idea of grilling, steaming and air frying. Had for 18 months but only used air fry function which I love. Tried the steam once but my rice attempt was an epic fail. Easy to use but limited receipes so I bought the Woman’s Weekly air fry book and use that. Very easy to… Read more

clean. Doesn’t always cook evenly but that’s ok. I’m now looking at the multi cookers like Instant Pot which includes an air fryer function. I guess I can’t compare model as this is my first air fryer and I don’t feel strongly compelled to keep it but I’ll test the multi cooker to compare before I get rid if it. Airfryers do use a bit of power- not as much as our very large oven which is why it’s so good for the two of us. We’re on solar and cook dinner late so keep an eye on night time power used. It’s good but can’t rave because I have nothing to compare it too. If you aren’t sure about air fryers- get one you won’t regret it. Just wish I bought one earlier and they were around when I was a poor uni student.

Disappointing – I would have happily give the Tefal Easy Fry Grill & Steam XXL a 5 stars rating but after 2 units not working to its full capacity, I’m saddened to have give such a negative review. Our first unit was a dream until the unit ceased working. I’ll attach a video showing the issue. When it was working it was a dream. The poultry/roasts were to die… Read more

for. They were beautifully cooked and most importantly our whole family sat and ate together. This is where the positives have stopped. The first unit lasted a few months, then went on its own tangent. The screen would flash and not work. Shutting down, unpowered from mains waited a few minutes restart but but NO on outcome. Had to place the food in the oven to complete the cooking cycle. What also made this annoying was the time lapse. With the Tefal Easy Fry Grill & Steam XXL, cooking time is cut down, yet the food is cooked to perfection. With delay of cooking from the Tefal to the oven, meals were severely delayed, leading to disgruntled family members.

I was fortunate enough to replace the unit to ONLY USE ONCE, where the second unit too went on its merry way. After preparing the food to begin the cooking process, this time it locked itself on GRILL @ 15 min. Again, off from the mains, restart and again an appliance that may look good, great for large families but not worth the money spent. I will be returning and not purchasing/replacing with the Tefal Easy Fry Grill & Steam XXL again.

A VERY DISSATISFIED APPLIANCE BY TEFAL

Disappointed – I very much wanted to like this. My concerns are: 1. the plastic smell is still around 2 weeks after getting it, 2. it does not evenly air fry even after shaking it half way through, 3. I wish the default when turning on was air fryer and not grill and the timer default was 0, not 30 mins for the air fryer, and 4. while the grill function left grill marks on my steak and cooked it nicely, the steak tasted like it was partially stewed. Show details

DISAPPOINTED – The design looked modern and sleek. Instruction book consists of pictures with no helpful labels. Took some time to sort out. Plain English operating instructions would have been better. No recipe book provided. Following on-line recipes inconvenient expensive awkward and waste of time. Had to buy distilled water to use in steamer. … Read more

This adds to operating costs and is inconvenient. Only worked for 4 days then would not start. Had to take back to sales outlet. (Harvey Norman). Did not accept replacement. Similar items in store all made in China regardless of Brand. I originally stated when buying this machine I did not wish to buy a product made in china and was told it was made in France and discovered on second day of usage when filing my warranty details that the label on the box state "Made in China" by which time I had already used the machine a couple of times and had to decide from taking it back or just go on using it. Fortunately or unfortunately the decision was made for me when the machine packed up on me on the 4th day and I was left with the tedious and expensive task of packing it all up again, traveling 29km to the store to make my warranty claim and was told all other brands of similar items in the Harvey Norman store were all made in China.

Love Functionality Hate Reliability – I am like everyone else who loves this machine, it does so much more than standard Air fryers and super easy to keep clean. Hate the fact that the very first one stopped working after 2 days, issues was screen stopped working so could not start or stop the device. replaced under warranty. Second Unit had exact same problem after 1 year. - open the… Read more

draw and you get 3 dashes on the touch screen. close the draw and it goes blank nothing on screen as if its dead. Open the draw 3 dashes close the draw all blank. Reported it to Tefal only to be told to unplug it and plug it back in. and to make sure is cleaned. failing that they recommend taking it back to Harvey Norman. Will update the outcome.

A perfect addition to your kitchen – We absolutely love our new Tefal Easy Fry Grill & Steam appliance. We have roasted chickens, pork and spare ribs on the roasting option, but also steamed both fish and vegetables on the steam option. We have even baked a cake as there is an option for this too! The air frying option is great for any food and is so much quicker than a conventional… Read more

My second and best air fryer! The added grill and steam function makes this one of the best contenders in market! – This unit is amazing. This is my second air fryer. I was so impressed with my Tefal air fryer that I gave my original one to a family member and snatch up this beauty with steam and grill functionality added. The air fryer works as well as my previous air fryer the tray has plenty of space and I can fit a whole chicken, lamp chops or roasted… Read more

vegetables. It’s also handy for really quick snacks or meals like backing a quiche or pie or even just roasting banana bread. The steam function was a great surprise. I did not anticipate that it would be so effective. This unit cuts my cooking time by at least a third. Best rule of thumb is that if packaging says it takes 21 mins in an oven it probably takes 2/3rds of the time in the air fryer. All steamed veg has been crunchy and well steamed. The cooking seems even but I do make sure to toss roast vegetables if I am doing a full tray so that nothing burns. It’s so safe to use that a tween child could use it with confidence once they know to be careful when pulling out the warm tray. My only criticism is that there was no clear instructions in the manual about how to use the steamer. I ended up just working it out myself. There is an online recipe book that is available for you to download after you have purchased the unit. The grill is irks as expected but just double check timing the first few times until you get it right. The unit is so food that I plan to buy another one so that I can steam and air fry at the same time for meals where I want roasted meat but steamed veg. I have seen reviews of other, equally premium air fryers and some have quite significant issues and are more expensive than this unit. In summary I have found that this unit has not given me any issues at all. I would recommend this to anyone who is time poor or in households with 3 or less people in the home. It’s far more energy efficient than putting an oven on to preheat for 30 mins. Go for it! We have a healthier diet because of this handy and super easy to use appliance.

All airfryers are not equal – Prior to purchasing this machine I have had 2 Philips airfryers in the last 6 years. When the 2nd Philips started to malfunction I decided to go with a different brand as there is so much more choice now than there used to be. I researched and liked this model for the addition of the grill and steam function. I have some other Tefal appliances… Read more

and like them so thought it was a safe option. First issue, in my research the Tefal website states in the specifications that this is dishwasher safe. After reading the instructions that come with it states that the bowl and the grids are not dishwasher safe. False advertising. The default setting at turn on is grill, so each time you turn it on you have to change it to airfry which seems ridiculous given it's an airfryer as it's main function. I excitedly tried the grill function, it did not leave grill marks and produced average burgers , no different to if you had just cooked them in an airfryer normally without the plate and special function. Disappointing after waiting for the requisite 15 minute preheat of the grill plate and the handwash afterwards. Not worth the effort. Chips were cooked unevenly even after shaking halfway through. You also can't just tip the food, chips etc onto a plate as the grid will fall out, designed so you have to use tongs all of the time, not like a fry basket, which is annoying.

The steam function and combined steam functions just makes a gigantic wet mess, require bottled water to be used, and a purging cycle and regular descaling only to produce average results.

It also gets quite hot on the outside, a concern if you have things near it. The Tefal logo is also fading off after only 10 days use, bit of a build quality concern. I really regret buying this. The Philips airfryers are so much better. Would advise to wait until those are on special rather than purchase this given it also has a premium price which for me it just doesn't live up to.
