Bought a Tefal 7.5 litre airfryer 2 weeks ago to replace our 2 1/2 year old Philips and so far it seems to cook better than the Philips did at the same stage. The biggest problem with airfryers is the build up of fat in the upper fan/element area that you can't access to clean which causes smoking and potentially catch fire. The Tefal has a large and open cooking area with the element mounted a bit higher than the old Philips which gives a broader and more even temperature than the Philips as our Philips had a hot spot and didn't cook evenly. The Tefal also has a user manual and for the price of $149, I will certainly buy another when it's time to retire this one.

Follow-up  · It's been about 2 months since I've replaced our old 7.2 litre Philips with the Tefal and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Although Philips make excellent products and I was happy with the old one the Tefal shades it became of its simplicity. The Tefal has a user manual while the Philips doesn't but as I only cook manually I didn't need much instruction on either appliance as I don't trust the preset functions as I like to be in control of the temps and cooking times. Since the Philips didn't cook evenly it was a pain to have to check and shuffle food around at intervals whereas the Tefal cooks evenly although I do check on the cooking from time to time as I like food to be cooked my way. Fan noise isn't overly loud in either appliance but rather gives reassurance that everything is working. Because of the Tefal's design it's cooking drawer is also easier to clean than that of the Philips. I will certainly replace my current Tefal with another at $149 when it's time to retire it.

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $149.

Well, I never thought that I'd do a running commentary on the Tefal 7.5 litre but if it can help somebody, I'm pleased. It's now been around 2 months since the Tefal was purchased and it's been used virtually every day because it cuts down on the use of the cook top and oven due to the versatility of airfryers in general. Our old 7.2 litre Philips was a great product but the Tefal is better and I'll outline why. Comparing both, the Tefal is more basic than the Philips but as I cook manually I've never had to learn the preset cooking functions as I like to be in control of temps and cooking times which I adjust accordingly. As our old Philips didn't cook evenly and the Tefal does, the Tefal wins. When it comes to cleaning, you are unable to clean the upper element area of all airfryers but the Tefal being more uncomplicated in its design is easier to clean than the old Philips. As we don't have a dishwasher we have to wash everything in the sink and the cooking drawer of the Tefal is much easier to wash because of it's simplicity. As for value for money, again we looked at buying another Philips when we retired the old one but as we have other Tefal cooking products that have been reliable, we weighed the shortfalls of the old Philips fryer and prices of the newer models that are now available and decided to try the Tefal. At only $149, the Tefal is hard to beat and will certainly be replaced with another one when it's due for replacement.

Well, four months of daily use has simply reinforced my opinion of the Tefal. Would I recommend it? Too bloody right I do. It shines in its simplicity of use for both cooking, washing up and value for money. These are the only things that are important to me as the cook and chief bottle washer.

I was so happy with my dual Easy Fry that I bought the single drawer from Spotlight recently so that I could cook a roast, vegies and dessert all at the same time. Can't wait to use them on the back patio during summer as it's too hot to turn the oven on in WA.
