Don’t waste your money – Hard to understand how to regulate the steam. Water dribbles out randomly. Brown stains, coming out onto my white clean laundry. Only had this item for two months. Hardly use it and supplier suggests descaling. Most expensive steam iron I’ve bought and the worst.

Purchased in for $600.

Was fantastic - until it wasn’t – Good steam pressure, very mobile. Was a little wobbly but that was expected. One day it just started spitting out boiling boiling hot water - no steam. I contacted Tefal as it was only a few months old. I purchased it online and was concerned about how I would go about returning such a large package, seemed like it was all going to be difficult. I thought they might be able to tell me the simplest way to return it. Their “solution” was for me to take it to a repair centre - 2 hours away. No thank you Tefal. Still don’t know what to do, I got back to them about a week ago asking for an alternative solution, one where I wasn’t inconvenienced any further - no response. Also, the copper paint chipped off and the water refill light didn’t ever work - these weren’t deal breakers to me.

Purchased in at David Jones Online Store for $479.

I needed this … wow – This is so amazing, really easy to use and does all types of fabrics with ease. Can definitely replace your regular iron. My husband also finds this steamer a life saver.

Ironing out the wrinkles in my life – I hate ironing - really, really hate it. I would rather clean the loo, of my neighbour. With 2 kids now in high-school and hubby in a new job, all wearing shirts and blazers, pants and pleated skirts, my life became a continuous streaming torture of ironing this year. We also have a tiny laundry, which means no full size iron board fits. In desperation I bought the Tefal Ixeo QT2020. It can be used both vertically and horizontally, at sitting and standing level and packs away into a floor space less than an A3 sheet of paper. I love it. Ironing is done so quickly, and perfectly. If I want crisp seams I press on the backboard (I prefer using it upright with the metal pegs they provide), if I want quick wrinkle removal, I free-steam. The iron auto-adjusts for the fabric type and I have never had that go wrong - although it was a bit nerve-wracking the first time I approached the iron with my fave silk dress, unable to adjust the temp, awaiting the judgement of the ironing gods. I got the QT2020 as it auto-descales, which you need to do manually via tablets in the QT1020, that's a guaranteed fail in my busy working mum life. When I am done is telescopes down and folds flat so I can store away with minimum space use. It is plastic and I wonder how many years the frame will last, but that is a trade off for less weight I guess. I still hate ironing, but I love that Ixeo makes that feeling disappear so quickly and I get on with the better parts of my life, and my neighbours now clean their own loo.

Purchased in at David Jones Retail Stores for $497.
