Thought I’d write a review after seeing all the negative feedback surrounding this product, I have had this system installed for two weeks now and it was recommended from my long term plumber, and honestly it hasn’t missed a beat, it’s a fantastic product for me, wife and two girls in a single story home. I was second guessing my plumber after reading all the negative feedback and questioned his recommendation but I’m extremely happy with going ahead with it, mine hasn’t got temp problems or fluctuations, or sound loud like a jet plane taking off, just sounds like a standard gas hot water service to me. It’s more than hot enough at the base 50 degrees set (which can be turned up slightly if you want to be scorched) I actually asked the plumber to get me the hotter one but he advised not to and I’m glad I didn’t so yeah just thought I would leave my two cents on it, yes I would recommend to friends and family and hope this helps you too

This unit does one thing well - it produces hot water and is the only reason I give it one star. The unit is LOUD and the noise it makes is unacceptable if it is fitted anywhere near a living space. When the heater kicks in the sound is like a jet engine at idle. This is certainly louder than the old Rinnai 26 but isn't too bad. What is bad is the running of the cooling fans after turning off the tap. Regardless of whether you have run the hot water for 5 sec or 5 minutes, the cooling fan kicks in after the gas heating stops and the increase in noise level is significant, terribly annoying and runs for a full minute. We now close windows and doors when we know hot water is planned to be used.

Reece after sales service reviewed the system and said it was all normal. Apparently a larger cooling fan has been introduced and this is why it is noisy. I wish I'd known before changing from Rinnai.

The plumber who recommended Thermann as a replacement for the old Rinnai hadn't heard the sound of this model before and has stated he will no longer recommend Thermann.

Having tried to live with it for a month we are getting rid of it and replacing it with a Rinnai. Lesson learnt.

Thanks but it's too late. We had the unit reviewed by Reece after sales service who consulted Thermann and advised everything including the noise was normal and we couldn't put up with it. We have already replaced the unit with a Rinnai B26 which is quiet, produces hot water well and in my opinion is a far superior unit. It is too late to provide a positive experience with Thermann.
