Thermann R-Series Continuous Flow
Verified1 review
Warm water, not hot! – Needed to replace electric hot water system. Plumber recommended gas continuous flow. At some expense to run water and gas to outside wall, the Thermann 32R Gas Continuous Flow was installed. Water is hot enough for showers but is a complete disappointment in the kitchen. I can hold my hand under the hot water tap without having to remove it. Does a terrible job of removing cooking and food residue without a lot more effort than in the past. Feels unhygienic as well. We are in the process of finding a better option.

Hi HowardP, Thank you for your review, we are very keen to provide a positive experience for you and your Thermann 32R gas continuous flow unit. We can understand that your previous hot water system may have been able to deliver water higher than 50 deg C due to being an older, previous electric storage product.
The plumbing standards (AS3498-2009) have the below clause listed which requires all hygienic fixtures (shower outlet, hand basin outlet or bath outlet) must not exceed 50 deg C to prevent scalding and burns from higher temperatures. See below from the standards.
"Water-heating appliances intended to deliver water directly to sanitary fixtures used primarily for the purposes of personal hygiene, such that the temperature at the outlet of the sanitary fixture does not exceed 50°C shall comply with the following conditions (a) The delivery temperature at the outlet of the appliance shall be factory set to no greater than 50°C."
In the event that your bathroom tapware is some distance from your hot water heater or your kitchen and laundry outlets are in first contact with hot water supply, Thermann 50 deg gas continuous flow units are capable of being increased slightly via an internal temperature adjustment which can be performed by a licenced plumber. This is to allow for the event that your hot water is suffering temperature reductions between the hot water system and the hot water fixtures.
Regards,
Thermann Hot Water
