Uniden Guardian App Cam Solo PT

Not as we had hoped – Will detect motion 95% of the time, but when you open the app to identify what the motion was, it won’t connect. Sometimes after refreshing a few time it might, but generally way too late. When we can sometimes access the recorded motion, it often misses the object unless it’s really slow moving. the pan and tilt feature has to be operated by me,manually, via app. It doesn't follow a moving object as advertised. There is also significant delay in capturing movement. 5+ seconds. By the time I receive a notification the only thing that is captured is someone's back as leaving the property. The other day it didn't even register and record me walking from the top of my driveway to my front door. And yet the camera lense is positioned in that direction. The app which must be downloaded to use the camera doesn't work well since it has been updated. I stopped receiving notification sounds which means that I am not aware of any notifications without looking at my phone. Pan and tilt control on the app doesnt work well. Its delayed, makes it very difficult to set the camera lense at desired position or follow moving objects. The solar panel is great. Camera is always 100% charged.

Totally unreliable – Keeps on dropping out. The charger connection from the solar panel comes loose. It just can't function without interruption more than two weeks in a row, them have to go through a complicated process to reconnect. It works again for a week or two, then it disconnects again. starts recording. It only records 30 second segments max. No continuous recording. Bought from Leading Edge electronics for $365 in October 2021. Waste of money.

Avoid! – Night picture is not clear The time Lapse feature works 33% of the time The ability to follow something with the PTZ is useless, too touchy and network lag generally either doesn't allow the feature or over shoots what you're trying to follow. Waste of money – PT solo is not auto tracking, that was implied, looses wifi connection constantly, takes multiple attempts to manually reconnect to wi fi, goes black screen with colour at night. not work. Alarm only goes off if you are very close. Day1 observations Expensive and extremely disappointing. I cannot find a way to join with a nvr, dvr, can only use uniden cloud or a card that was half expected. I have not tried their cloud as conditions seem all encompassing & dicey. It could be useful perhaps for daytime manual observation from inside, what use is that. It would be quite good if it did not need pir to record and could connect to record to disk or your choice of cloud. A plus is it does seem to see quite a distance in daylight although zoom seems not much good. Unless I can work a way to make it work better, I will probably return it and look to ebay for an cheaper auto ptz. Pity
