Uniden iGO CAM 345 Dual Dash Camera

Complete waste of time and money – I purchased an igo cam 345 over 12 months ago I have just fitted it to my vehicle. It continuously beeps and the screen flashes all over the place, front, rear, half screen and settings but I can’t change it or select or change any settings. As it’s out of warranty and I don’t have the receipt is there a better front and rear camera that I can replace it with without replacing the wiring. Very disappointing Show details
Whilst driving. Shuts down every 5 seconds – I see this item was discontinued in 2021 which is probably why it was in the catalogue when we purchased it. First issue is that night vision is so bright that oncoming headlights blur the vision whereas you cannot even make out the type of oncoming vehicle, let alone the number plate (I have adjusted the settings several times with same… Read more
result).Day vision is fine.... The unit shuts down (displaying Low battery, even when plugged into the cigarette lighter port...then turns back on in 5seconds and repeats itself. A problem for the past 12mths..(we have a brand new car and on the last service, there's no issue with power from the car. There is no reference to a battery in the manual. help please...cheers
This limited version to Aldi is crap IGO 345 – I should have looked here previously. There are too many defaults in this product to list and Uniden should take some responsibility for producing an inferior product for sale. The windshield mounts do not last long in our harsh conditions. They move and vibrate loose and the camera is no longer secure. My wife bout three of these at the time… Read more
thinking they would be okay. It took my a while to put these into my daughters cars, so my fault in relation to the warranty expiring. Lesson learned! But, Uniden, you should be ashamed that you put a product on the market that really just rips people off and if you were confident that your product was top notch, you’d be sorting out issues or have parts replaced that are inferior quality. The lesson I have learned here, is that I will never buy a Uniden product again and will also strongly advise anyone that asks me to not touch your products at all.

Easy to use, terrible picture quality – After reading the reviews on this, I was a little concerned - I'd just bought 3 of them from Aldi. But I tested one out. The device is easy to use. The cords are a great length - I have an Elgrand and the cord to the rear camera has plenty of length with quite a bit spare. The cam settings are simple. The reason people are getting blank screens is… Read more
because there's an option to have the screen turn off after 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes, or turn that option off altogether. I had it at 2 minutes, thinking it meant the screen timeout after turning the car off, but it turned off while driving so I changed it to "off" and the screen didn't go blank again. I had to change the exposure to -2 because it's a really bright day. I like the exposure option. Changing it meant I could see everything clearer. You can even put your number plate on the screen which I thought was a great idea. The dash cam I currently have doesn't have that option. I took it for a test drive around my suburb, then turned it off when I got back and checked the footage. It has 2 folders: front camera, and rear camera. Each video was 10 seconds long. My current dash cam is 3 minutes, so I didn't like that this is only 10 seconds, but I can live with it. There's a review that says the video is pixelated. They're not wrong. This is the reason I will be returning them. You cannot make out other number plates at all. I paused it where a car was passing me and took a screenshot on my laptop. I zoomed in and it's a blur of black and white. Terrible. It would be impossible to use any footage on this thing if you need to find someone through their number plate. Also, the audio is bad. You can hear everything, but there's constant static. This was disappointing because other than that (and the fact that it doesn't show your speed), I love everything about this camera. I've attached a photo of the screenshot (without identifying info). It's exactly as the video looks, and it's terrible. I can see why this cam is discontinued, though I'm interested as to why Aldi have it in store today as a special buy if it's discontinued. Looks like I'll be looking for other front and rear dash cams, but this time I'll read reviews FIRST!!
TL;DR The device is great, settings are easy to understand, but the picture quality is awful and the picture is what's needed the most in a dash cam so don't bother with this.

Worst dash cam and 1 year warranty – I bought the Uniden dash cam and found the ridiculous wires needed to be taped around my car particularly the rear cam. Once that headache was sorted, the camera worked fine until the warranty was over. Then I got permanent lines across the screen that couldn’t be fixed. I wish I’d taken it back when I saw the wiring mess right at the start. I… Read more
would never buy a Uniden product again. A one year warranty shows how little faith they have in their products.
Great Product! – I’ve had absolutely No problems with my Uniden Dash Cam IGO Cam 345 nor with any other Uniden products I have owned in the past! I rate their Products as Great. Cheers. Show details
Poor product and brand – Poor product , didn't work since I purchased it. Sent to customer care and they sent the product back in the same non working condition. Uniden is releasing poor products so please do not purchase any one their products. It's worth zero star and not even 1 start. Don't waste your money. Show details
get the right SD card – the only instructions on the outside of the package say "32gb is the max capacity" of the SD card, this camera does not work with a Scandisk 16gb Ultra (confirmed by Uniden after purchase), the package should state on the outside what SDs are (or are not) compatible so you don't buy the wrong SD card Show details · 3
Works fine with just a few issues – I do not appear to have experienced the operational problems that have been described in many of these comments however two issues. I have found that occasionally the front camera screen goes blank. My camera power is via the cigarette lighter socket and i basically do a " reboot" by disconnecting and reconnecting and works fine again. Very… Read more · 1
annoying and would appreciate a comment Secondly the operating manual, for wont of a better word , is woeful and provides the very basics. Took me numerous times of scrolling to find how to format my card. Surely you guys could spend a little more time to describe operations in a more clear manner??
little while light on front of camera – How do you turn off the little while light on front of camera that is on in the night it it shine in the windscreen and reflect back in the car Show details · 1
You get what you pay for! – Windshield mount is poor, suction cup does not stay attached and tends to vibrate. Quality of footage on rear camera is terrible and image is reversed because it doubles as a reverse camera. I only found that out when I read the instructions. I found Uniden products very good before, disappointed with this one. Show details
Uniden iGO CAM345 dash cam – I was expecting a reasonable quality product being a Uniden. From the outset the locking screw kept coming loose, used some thread lock glue to over come that issue. Didn't connect up the rear camera so not sure of it's short comings. The main screen now keeps blanking on and off not sure if it's the power lead or the connection within the camera.… Read more
As I purchased it from Aldi a couple of years ago it would be out of warranty. Given its low price it was ok, however I wouldn't recommend it. Spend a bit more on something more reliable.

Not worth experimenting with – Uniden iGO CAM 345 Dash Cam Black Box When I saw this advertised by Aldi I thought I would give a try but have just returned the unit pretty disappointed. • Is advertised as 1080p FULL HD but that does not seem to be the case. It appears to be an upscaling of a lower resolution image resulting in lots of noise and pixelation. As a result, it is… Read more
difficult to even read a car’s number plate when it is a little over a car’s length from the camera. • Image quality - I worked my way through the various menu settings changing exposure, resolution and high dynamic range to try and obtain an acceptable result with no joy. • Very grainy images in low light conditions. • White balance - the camera’s colour reproduction is extremely poor. • Windscreen bracket is very lightweight. The swivel mount does not tighten adequately to stop the camera from going out of alignment when driving on moderately rough roads. • Micro SD card - inserting and extracting the SD card is incredibly fiddly. • Rear camera mount incredibly flimsy and not suited for use on a Station Wagon. • The instruction book suggests visiting the Uniden website but this unit isn't even listed there.

Absolute junk dashcam, avoid – I bought this from Aldi as an upgrade from my cheapy 1080P camera (thats held up for years and still going). The unit presents nice and feels like solid however.... * Camera mount wobbles like crazy, even when driving smooth roads, it has an offset mount point on a tiny screw that's poorly positioned and wont stay in once place, I move this to… Read more
straiten the camera angle pretty much daily whilst driving, this makes the footage very shaky
* The save files are impossible to to find easily, the are labelled under two different file names, my old unit had folders for each day and a code for the time for each file, however this one just adds numbers to a random 'SOS' or 'VID' title
* Battery issue, only 2 of the 3 battery bars are ever charged (even after 4 hour drives)
* The worst part - massive missing recordings. I followed the instructions and used the appropriate SD card. I am writing this review because after driving back a car nearly had a head on collision with us, we wanted to check the footage and it and a bunch of other files are missing, even though there is no missing numbers in the sequential saved file system.
This is my first product review, and to be honest I want to avoid others relying on something like this when they really need it (i.e. car crash or legal request).
I honestly have nothing good to say about this other then it looks cool on the outside.
SD card installation – Easy set up. However be careful when inserting the SD card. When I inserted the first card I somehow pushed it in behind the slot it’s supposed to go in and it disappeared inside the unit and cannot get it out. Poorly designed in that respect. Purchased a second card and carefully inserted and now all ok. Show details

Front camera recorded video is dark – Tried to adjust the EV settings but it's still dark surrounding the camera as if the shutter is getting close slowly. The rear camera is mirrored. But my main concern is the brightness adjusting itself. Show details

Fails on basic functionality – Turns out this thing is pretty well useless as a dash cam. I had an accident. Immediately found the relevant file. Selected lock the file in the menu, clicked OK. Job done, or so I thought. Turns out whoever wrote the software for this camera is a monkey, as locked files are overwritten. Technically you are supposed to be able to lock files by… Read more
hitting the mode button when recording...nope, that doesn't work either. It's a dud. Basic functionality fail. Time for a refund. Edit: OK. Figured it out. Instructions are very vague, so after some trial and error, this is what I've found: Any files that are locked can be overwritten by other files that are locked. Generally this happens while the camera is operating because of the G Sensor, which locks files when activated. The default Medium setting is so sensitive that the slightest vibration or bump locks every video recorded by the camera, thus it constantly overwrites any files on the card once the card is full, locked or not. The first step on switching the camera on should be to set the G Sensor sensitivity to either OFF or LOW. Uniden needs to change either the sensitivity of the G sensor to operate in a range where slight knocks or rough roads don't activate it, or supply the device with the default setting as OFF or LOW
It's fairly obvious Uniden know this is a problem, they have responded to other questions on this… Read more (+1 reply)
