Great Welder - Great Customer Sevice from UNIMIG – Great welder. The full time boiler maker that was doing some welding for me used this welder on my job site. After seeing it in action, I bought one for myself. I did have a defective unimig gas regulator out of the box which Unimig sent a replacement out to me by express which I could not ask for better service than that. Show details

I know my mig is no longer available but it is still going strong. I am using it in an all steel extension of my mancave. Working up at 3 meter heights is no problem. Love my unimig. Show details

Smooth, lightweight and easy to use – I have 3 Unimig welders and have been running the 205 razor off a generator for 5 years now. Never skips a beat even with the abuse I’ve given it. Show details · 1
Great size, plenty of power, ideal for field work – I'm a diesel fitter / engineer with over 10 years of field based repairs and fabrication experience. In that time I've used all manner of welders from all price ranges, Kempi, Cigweld, CIG, Bosweld, Rossi.. After plenty of research, I upgraded to Unimig's Razor 200. My first Unimig. Most of the time I'm running everything off a generator, and I… Read more · 1
couldn't be happier with the quality and smooth nature of this Unimig welder. At the medium price range, with 3 years warranty, it's more than I could've expected. Excellent unit, I would purchase again without hesitation. Cheers
It's a great welder – It's a great welder made a boat trailer and other trailers with it welds really good.Works really well and easy to use and set up and many more welding to do. Show details · 1

Minor nitpicks but otherwise a good reliable machine – I'll start off by saying I've since sold my razorweld 175, but I do miss it. Owned it for about a year and it's new owner is very happy with it, 10 months later. Negatives for which I took of a star: wire feed could be improved for almost free. If you're running 0.6mm wire it just loves to birds nest on ya, but it's quite easily fixed with a… Read more · 1
short piece of brass tube (although I used a short piece of a Teflon torch liner) trimmed to fit right up against the rollers. You do get a slightly improved, geared wire feed on the 200 amp version.
Comes with a 0.8 & 0.9mm drive roller plus a 0.8 & 1.0mm drive roller, for the price they could have done a little better there.
Really should have been supplied with a couple of contact tips instead of just one, and it was 0.9mm (with matching red torch liner) where I feel the sweet spot for this unit is 0.8mm, with a blue torch liner.
Should have included a quick disconnect for the welding gas ($11 from Supercheap Auto for a nitto style air compressor quick disconnect, don't pay $60+ for a blue one that says argon on it!).
That's really it for negatives, real solid machine that never missed a beat and does exactly what you tell it to. SB25 torch is good quality, though it's often hard to find some of the consumables good it. 4m torch length would be much nicer than the 3m or comes with, but oh well. Build quality is not bad, though for the price it could be a touch better and even include pulse settings, but now I'm getting side tracked. Good welder!
NOT GOOD!!! – Needed a new onsite welder. went to the store and thought Id try the UNIMIG.. Years ago they had a reputation as being junk and unreliable. Recently id heard they had lifted there game and become a good welder. I bought a Razor 200 Mig welder. Within a year it started playing up. Wire speed wouldnt vary and the weld starts were pathetic. I couldnt… Read more
afford not having a welder for onsite stuff. |So i put it in to be fixed . My mistake was i thought this must be just a one off dud..So to keep things uniform and interchangable i went and bought a second Unimig 200. The job needed doing and i thought hey be good to have a stand by..this welder last 2 months and dead shorted blowing the safety switch.. UNMIG!!! Never again. They aint improved since the old days , my opinion is they a still Junk,,Both welders are in the shop for the secong time as the back service is also crap..they gave both welders back to me and did nothing..Still has earth leakage and the other still farts and splutters on every weld start...Yes im going out to spend a little extar and grab a GOOD brand...
Well thats my experience with UNIJUNK...hope yours is better..Cheers
Why didn't I get one sooner – A new toy. A UniMig RazorWeld MIG-MMA 200. Why did I persist with my old stick only welder for so long. Here is my story - $6000+ tubular fence quotes - not happy. Purchased this welder (stick and Mig only - but with spool gun connection) with a good auto darkening shield, a 4.5kg roll of flux core wire and all the material for $3500 including… Read more
installation costs and paint. When the job is finished the fence will only have cost about $2000, then ready to make a flat top tray for my RTV Style-side ute (backed into something and buggered it) and several other jobs after that. First job done was to make a pair of trestles/stands from scrap thin walled Dural Galv RHS laying around, so I can weld at a good height. Beautiful job. Will pay for itself over and over again - hopefully.
Having previous but limited welding experience, the connections / polarity and setup was easy - didn't need the manual, Never got one in the box but is available off the net. As long as the drive rollers and end tip are the right diameter to match your wire, you are set to go. This unit is a geared driven roller feeder so should be better for repetition stop/start tacking and stitching. Traps to be aware off - leave the paper wrap on the mig wire reel till the end is fed into the drive rollers or the wire may spring loose/unwind from the reel, ending in a mess of spagetti flying in all directions - play with the drive roller to get the right feed tension on the wire, especially important for stop/start tacking and filling gaps where cut tube ends meets the radii in a T joint.
What a dream to use - with about 10/12mm of wire exposed was ideal for me - playing with voltage and wire feed rate only took a few minutes to master. You don't need the chrome gas shield on the end of the handle with flux core welding - so pull it off and throw it in the carry bag supplied. A wire cutter is a must have - to snip off the end of the wire as a small blob of flux will stop it striking as does any flux left on the previous weld. The earth clamp and cables appear very robust - more industrial than hobby welder, but this unit is not at the cheap end for handy man welders. Vertical ups on thin material - easy - just tack, tack your way up the joint. Finished welds look gross - especially on galv tubing (compared to gas mig) but with a chipper/wire brush or wire wheel they come up looking like a professional job (after some practice) plus a good coat of paint after of course. haha. I tried welding some 5 and 10mm clean mild steel together - it worked great and not quite as messy to clean up. Does anyone want a good used stick welder - got an old one for sale.
There is a digital display welder available in this range but I went for the plain old simple control knobs. Like my previous reviews - This unit is new so if anything happens down the track I will amend my review accordingly.
A special safety / health note to conclude - with flux core welding it's very important to be in a well ventilated area - avoid breathing in the fumes.

Great Welder – Using to weld rails in a cattle yard its excellent providing a great smooth penetrating weld on varying gaps. Very versatile around the farm. Impressed by the handpiece that came with it. Show details · 1
Great welder – Great welder, wish I could figure out how to turn off VRD for stick welding but you get that. Only other thing that I’d like is a gear driven wire feed but otherwise the stepless voltage adjustment and wire feed speed is excellent.
Amazing Welder! – I'm used to workshop 3-phase mig welders. Don't be fooled by size, this welder packs a punch. It's portable, easy to use straight out the box. And is great value for money. Highly recommend! Show details · 1

My everyday welding companion for almost a decade – This machine replaced my old Transarc MIG. After initial problems with the retailers, it has functioned faultlessly with no repairs and little maintenance. It has welded kilometers of mild steel from 2 to 12mm thick. I have been so impressed with its performance that I bought a Uni MIG185 as an extra, more portable on-site welder. Show details · 1

Great welder – This welder is well and truly easy to use. I thought value wise a little bit on the expensive side. Besides that i have bought a couple of other brands in the past and no where as good as this. Show details · 1
200 Razorweld – Been practicing with this new welder prior to building a trailer with it. Even using flux cored wire it is light years ahead of my previous welder when using gas shielded. Show details · 1
Great welder – I love this welder. Does everything I need it to do on my hobby farm. I have just starting doing rust repairs on my old car and the welder is working great Show details · 1
A very capable and versatile welder – I originally bought the welder to mig body metal 1mm thick, which it is very good at. I just completed a mig project using 6mm steel and it absoloutly powered through it without a hitch. I highly recomend this welder. Show details · 1

Great machine for a learner easy to use – Great welder for someone who's wanting to get into welding for the first time as it's really easy to use easy to set up nice and compact lite to carry good on 1mm to 8mm thick metal I'm using it for alloy at the moment and real happy with how it welds Show details · 1
This is a great welder - perfect for my needs – This is a great alround welder - perfect for those small light jobs as well as the more heavy structual jobs. It travels easily and has never let me down - I would deffently recommend this model Show details · 1
razor weld 200 with gas installation – I find that when working for some time on Galv. RHS steel that the gas nozzle accumulates spatter etc. and the heat in the nozzle prevents nozzle removal and cleaning - even with the aid of a dip gel. Eventually exerting enough pressure to twist the nozzle off the hand piece also breaks the gas diffuser. I mentioned this problem to the local agent… Read more
a few months ago and was told to invest in an alternative Renard nozzle and contact tip. I believe I should not have to spend further expenditure to solve a product fault. Otherwise the mig with gas works fine.
Great little big machine – Would be nice to have digital adjustments on mig side, specially when welding different thicknesses on aluminium, but it's easy to get familiar with settings, very portable machine and does great quality welds. Show details · 1

Bees knees – Fantastic little machine, plenty of power, lightweight and with .8 wire runs perfect. About to try it on Aluminium. Being a welder for over 50 years I know what to expect and the little Razor delivers. Show details · 1
Great welder – More powerful than 175 amp rating suggests. Great for steel, also runs a spool gun well for aluminium. Hasn't missed a beat in the year or so I've owned it Show details · 1
Great welder – Simple, reliable compact welder with excellent smooth arc. Love it. Would buy again if it broke down. Well made and with simple controls. Could have larger gradation markings next design. Show details · 1
Good little machine – Has been very reliable but it does go through a lot of wire tips on the torch as they jam. Other than that it has done some difficult work both heavy and light and is especially good for overhead welding. Show details · 1
Works A Treat – Purchased this machine to replace my old hobby grade MIG. The Unimig is so much better than the old beast. Only used it for MIG so far, so easy to put down a nice weld, nice smooth feed and no problems with burn back. Show details · 1
