Unimig Viper Multi 195 Max
Verified1 review
Pretty decent welds straight out of the box – I’ve only ever had cheap welders and, consequently, my welding was pretty average (I know you shouldn’t blame your tools, but I think there’s a degree of accuracy in this case). Weld, grind, weld, grind, weld, grind, disappointment. I recently stepped up to the Unimig Viper Multi 195. Still not a huge investment at $1200 compared to pro-level welders, but the specs and online blurb promised a lot. It hasn’t disappointed! My first project (some gate frames out of 2.5mm galv SHS using MMA) went very well. Smooth, even welds, good penetration, minimal spatter, no sticking, no holes. Knocked off the slag, quick wire brush, done. Very happy! The Viper gives me plenty of scope to explore other techniques. I’m particularly keen to try MIG (with the synergic settings) and even TIG when I get more practice under my belt. As you’ve probably figured, I’m definitely an amateur DIY-er, so I can’t comment on the Viper Multi 195’s suitability for serious welding applications - but I can certainly recommend it for users like me.
Purchased in for $1,200.
