Had this for a couple of yrs and it is awful, the power switch is in the worst place on the handle right where you want to hold it , battery goes flat in no time. , by the time you do maybe 2 small rooms weekly it's full , it's no where near as good as the older vax vacuums, I'll stick to using my $30 Kmart one even if I have to replace it every year it's heaps better

Wise old owl - vax 'blade' cordless vacuum – I was recently given a nearly new vax 'blade' cordless vacuum. It had zero suction . I dismantled it and found design flaws . The reason for zero suction was because there was a lump of paper jammed in the small diameter suction tube . Suction returned slightly . I then discovered that the machine has two main foam dust filters & both were choked with dust . I removed them & washed them in warm water & dried them. For the majority of women (and a lot of men) ; the location & maintenance of these filters is unknown & their removal is difficult . After completely cleaning the machine's filtering system I found the suction was still very poor . It is ok for picking up light debris off a hard surface but totally useless on carpet . If one needs to vacuum carpet the best option is a 240v corded vacuum . I would never buy this vacuum or any brand of cordless stick vacuum if I needed to suction any type of carpet . They are all completely useless .

Ok if bought for less – This is a lower end product and ok for a small household and quick clean ups. Not for pet hair, does not last long. The canister is not easy to clean and also hard to close correctly once opened. The notch that attached to the wall plate broke after a year so our vac has been sitting on the ground or against the wall. After about 2.5 years it has now stopped working. Essentially the main on off switch appears to have an internal fault, won’t turn on, not something you can fix at home so in the bin it goes. I can’t recall the cost but pretty sure it was over $200 AUD.
Purchased in at The Good Guys for $250.

Battery life – Vax blade2 stick vacuum battery life is very poor, we had the first one replaced as the unit would not hold charge, the dealer replaced the vacuum under warranty and now the 2nd vacuum still having the same problem, not happy with vax, now trying to get money back.
