Faantastic vacuum – Very efficient vacuum. Easy to use, lightweight & very maneuverable. Separate roller brush control so easy from tile to carpet. Only negative is the hand tool hose adapter is an optional extra. Good capacity canister with no need for bags. Very compact to store with removable upright handle. Great value for money.

Not happy – My floor is vinyl and has very small pinhole like texture. Scrubber nowhere firm enough to get into this texture. Brought this scrubber because I have arthritis and thought it would make life easier. Did better job scrubbing myself, but not better for my arthritis. Quite a large area to scrub. Have therefore only used it a couple of times

Rough tiles excellant – I just purchased the vax floor cleaner .huge sale at bunnings Fantastic .i have finally found a product that pushes over my rough new floor tiles and makes them squeaky clean . I have just got a new kitchen but the floor tiles were causing me some grief . I had gone back to the old mop and bucket . The mop left fluff all over the tiles so frustrating but not anymore with my new vax thankyou vax

A great product! – Purchased my Floormate 8 months ago to help with a rental exit clean and was very impressed. Unfortunately at our next rental the Floormate performed miserably and I couldn't understand why I thought it was a great product. Have since realised it wasn't the Floormate at fault but the very uneven floor tiles. Maybe those giving negative… Read more

reviews should check if this is their problem. Cleaning the tiles in our brand new home is a breeze with perfect results. Will mention that I go over all the floor edging first with a mop as, understandably, the Floormate struggles to get into the corners around doors, etc.

Question: I want to purchase a 2nd set of brushes to use on my outdoor tiles and your suggested retailer, Stokes doesn't have these or the cleaning solution listed. Will the course outdoor tile affect the effectiveness of my brushes? Where can I purchase these products?

No more mop and bucket – I am very happy with this product - I have cream tiles and the vax cleaned them really well. The machine dries the tiles and I do go over it a couple of times to be sure. I was going to change my floor tiles because I was tired of scrubbing them with a brush (to clean the grout) each week but now I may just keep the tiles and go on a holiday!!! … Read more ·  6

I think I will do one last scrub with brush and the vax can then take over.

The grout discolours because of the moisture left behind from mopping and I have used steam mops, Enjo, mop and bucket but the grout always discoloured - no more The scrubbing action and it's an all in one - you can vacuumed and then mop straight away. It is light weight and my children will help now - yah It is not a normal suction and I will still use my ducted system on the tiles if there is a lot of mess on the floor. The brushes can do with an improved strength so the cleaning can improve.

Horrible on tiles – After explaining to the sales bloke we have hi gloss tiles thoughout he showed us this product. What a waste of $360. The wheels leave streak marks everywhere, tiles look smudged. Im so disappointed. Only used it twice. I think this product is suited to timber hard floors, not hi gloss tiles.

Ripped Off – I got the Vax to clean some wood laminate floors which can't be steam mopped. The cleaning takes forever and the results are a streaky, wet mess. The drying function is ineffective and only serves to spread the water around. I get better results from a microfiber mop and spray bottle. A total rip off. long cord doesn't clean floors

Great, functional all in one product – I have a large area of porcelain 600*600 tiles and find the Vax Floor mate fantastic. Before I bought the Vax I had to sweep the floor, then mop, then dry with a towel so the kids didn't slip on the floor. Now with the Vax I can vacuum (I still need to sweep larger debris), then wash the floor and dry it using the one tool! My children also… Read more ·  2

spill liquids on the floor as a daily occurrence, so it is great I can just quickly vacuum and wash without getting out the mop, bucket and towel. The cord is long enough for me to do the whole kitchen, family and foyer.

If you have small tiles with a lot of grout it is probably not going to be as effective as the bristles don't really get into the grout lines. You may also need to manually attend to baked on grime, however for a tool that you can use to give a quick vacuum and mop with minimal effort I highly recommend, especially for those with small children.

The handle also folds down so it is easy to store. *Fantastic on large format porcelain tiles* Great for families with young kids * Easy to use* Time saving * Easy to store * The water reservoir is not big enough and needs to be refilled * Heavily stained floors may need manual assistance *Doesn't clean the grout* Quite Noisy * Running into toes is a painful experience!

Absolutely Terrible – What a terrible product, very disappointed with Vax. After having a vax my whole life I really wanted a floor cleaner instead of a steamer so we purchased this machine. It has no grunt, my floors really aren't that dirty though a slight stain and it struggles to clean it. The process takes too long and seriously the dryer does nothing. I want my money back!

Really good – I have just purchased the vax floormate and its really good. You can certainly tell its working by the colour of the water. The floors were very wet but just turn the dial to dry and it does the job beautifully. The wash solution included smells great and the tiles felt a lot cleaner to walk on. Easy to use and smells clean Only thing I would suggest if you can buy new brushes and have the option of having harder bristles for tiles and grout Show reply

Never again – I wanted an all in one vacuum and floor cleaner, what a mistake. The product does not pick up like an ordinary vacuum and it certainly does not wash like a mop. The amount of water that comes out of the machines takes for ever to dry and it doesn't even clean the floor. Personally I would never buy an all in one machines again. Does not perform like a vacuum or a mop.

Great For Outdoor Cleaning – I bought the Floor Mate for one purpose only (lucky I did) and that's for my 15sqm tiled front porch. Having a German Shepherd, the front porch can get a bit messy during winter and I was tired of using the scrubber and garden hose to clean it. Although the Floor Mate makes cleaning the outdoor area an easy task now, I can not see why one would… Read more

clean a kitchen floor with it. It would never achieve the same results as a mop. When is the last time you cleaned your kitchen floor with only a wet brush? Never? Thought so.

I tried it inside and really was not impressed. Outside, where it doesn't matter if there is a little spot here or there, fantastic.

The power cord is of good length however the water tank dispensing the cleaning solution and the container holding the dirty hoovered up water could be larger. Other than that, works great and has made my outdoor cleaning much easier. One other aspect for me was the drying time, which with the water being hoovered up is much quicker of course. The quicker it dries the sooner my dog can get back on her favorite spot on the front porch. I'm just glad I didn't buy it for inside the house, would have been seriously disappointed. Suits my purpose, although for that price, there are probably cheaper alternatives. The only reason I gave it a two is because if bought for indoors, day to day cleaning, I would have returned this machine without doubt, The money paid would not be worth the cleaning result in my opinion. But thanks Vax, for making cleaning outdoors, a delight now! Great outdoor cleaning results, very strong suction, removes dried dirt fairly easy Liquid containers could be bigger, would question the quality cleanliness, must remove brushes after use or store on waterproof base as brushes remain wet for a while

What my tiles needed – I was sick and tired of trying steam mops that didn't work and wanted a floor cleaner with a bit of elbow grease to clean my tiles, so this is why I bought this product. For the price it is a bit expensive. It is very easy to use although I did have to refill the detergent reseviour twice while cleaning. But I do have a very large tiles area.… Read more ·  1

Everything from putting it together to actual use to cleaning the machine itself I found extremely easy to follow. The one thing I wish this cleaner had was a bit more 'oomph!' to help get rid of some stubborn dirt spots - there was probably two or three small patches that I had to go over a few times but still didn't entirely come off. I guess this is due to different surfaces that may require not such a heavy clean.

One thing I must say is that it takes time to do your floors to a great standard. I went over each area twice for my first clean but the results were amazing. My hubby certainly noticed a difference when he came home. The head is a bit too big for places such as between the toilet and the wall, or if you had a vanity and shower with a small gap between, but really these areas couldn't be cleaned quickly with a wipe. I think I intend to do a 'good' clean once a fortnight and a few quick cleans during the week. The colour of the water at the end was proof enough it did a good clean! YUK!!i

I really liked how you could do a quick vacuum of the area than wash straight away without having to get a mop and bucket, that was a big selling point for me. The floors were damp after the clean but my 2 year old didn't slip around like he normally would have after I've done the floors. You can change the the setting to dry it off though. An actual good clean of my tiles, not just a wipe over. Could do but a little more oomph in the power of the brushes & a bit pricey.
