Works well. Trying to get replacement/parts in Australia - hopeless. VAX Support say it isn't stocked in Australia but how did I manage to buy the machine? Should have gone with a Bissell. Show details
The machine does a great job.but after watching U tube, seems the weak point of the machine is the main drive belt, after contacting VAX was told they do not have or make spare parts for this machine, after reading in very fine print on box, it… Read more
states, they do not have a repair department or spare parts so after warranty runs out which is 3 years in Australia and 6 years in the UK, its finished, 3 years seems a long time but remember you only use it at the most once a month. so will you really get your money,s worth, from a machine that cost nearly $400.00 dollars, Vax needs to carry spare parts.
Follow-up · warranty is 3 years replacement and return to place of purchase, the belt is not replaceable as the company does not have a repair shop and they do not carry spareparts, the belt is made from rubber such a shame as this machine does a great job but the company lets down the customers.
I bought this to clean up water on a rug after high pressure cleaning it outside. I went to use the hand attachment for the first time and it doesn't even spray, just dribbles and creates a mess. Brand new never used hoses and they don't work. For the amount of money you pay you expect it to work. Show details
I bought this product about 2 years ago now and it broke after about 4 uses. One of the brushes snapped completely off when I was washing a short pile carpet. I tried to organise a replacement from Bunnings but I had misplaced the receipt and Bunnings could not find the transaction even though I gave them the exact date and amount from my credit… Read more
card statement.
I finally got around to contacting Vax to see if I could buy a spare part but the best that they could do is basically replace the whole head, which is about 80% of the moving parts of the unit.
The product is going out tomorrow for council clean up.
Four uses! I think that I could have better spent the money on getting a professional in.
Happy with product – Easy to use, only done one rug which I thought would've come up better, got a stain out of my bedroom carpet. Still happy I bought it though, I'm going to do my daughters carpets next as majority of my house is floor boards. Show details
Disappointed – Worked well while I had it until the motor started smoking. Contacted Vax customer service support and they just told me to find someone to fix it. Less than 3 years old but I lost the receipt so they wouldn't repair it. Disappointed.
More cons than pros – Our carpet is as clean as I expected it to be, considering we have dogs. I didn't expect to be using two tanks of water for a hallway but that was OK. I had turbo vacuumed the carpet prior to cleaning but the cleaner still picked up a fair amount of dog hair. That's good, but not when the cleaning head needs to be washed out to stop the hair from… Read more
being cycled back onto the carpet in wet lumps. One set of brushes unclips-easy! The second set that I needed to get to mid way through cleaning needs x8 philips head screws to be removed! This is not a light cleaner to lift and rinse. Even worse to try to remove the screws and brushes over the bathtub with residual water running out everywhere. More hassle to clean the cleaner, than the carpet.
Disappointed in this product – Not as good as I was hoping. Did lift some dirt from the carpet but left it looking streaky and still dirty in places. Will have to go over it again I guess. Our carpet is about 20 years old and has been cleaned before and even though we vacuumed prior, this machine pulled a lot of fibres from the carpet and was very hard to continually pull them… Read more
out as they would block it up. The only way to do this was to stick my fingers in around the brushes and pull them out in wads, this had to be done many times. When we were done we had to find a YouTube video on how to clean it. It required a screw driver and undoing several screws to remove the brushes and even then it was not easy to clean with hard to reach places full of fibres and hairs etc, then screwed back together. The separate tank for the cleaning solution emptied very quickly barely enough to do one room. We ended up not using it and putting the solution directly into the main tank so we had more control over how much was used.
We bought it in December 2021 and have not used it on the carpet since (now May 2023) Did use the hand held attachment for some spot cleaning, but when trying to change the nozzle, the plastic tabs that hold it to the hose snapped off, very stiff plastic, but to click in and out, needs to be flexible...bad design. I contacted Vax and was told to buy a replacement from Bunnings, I had to remind them that it was the first time I had used the attachment when it broke and it was still less than 12 months old, so they posted a replacement which unbelievably arrived already broken in the same spot! Contacted Vax again to let them know and was ghosted. So now have two nozzles both broken in the same place, won't bother buying a replacement as it will most likely break in the same spot.
Overall not impressed, have had much better results with the Britex ones you hire from Woolies/Bunnings. Customer care from Vax... care factor zero. Do not recommend this product.
April 2024 Update: Decided to get it out one more time to clean a rug. Was going to use the hand held attachment but the hose would not connect well at the front and was leaking water so just used the main machine. It did pull dirt from the rug as it should, but didn't really pull all of the water out, so rug was very wet and had to be put outside in the sun to dry. Once again, impossible to clean the unit so we gave up and it literally went in the bin, sick of trying with it, don't have to deal with it any more thank goodness!
Awesome carpet cleaner – Amazing carpet cleaner, easy to assemble and use. With the wide brush/suction head, large clean/ dirty water tanks and strong suction, carpet's are cleaned to perfection in no time. The extra tool's for cleaning a material lounge suite do a great job. The only issue I had was that the hose connection at the main unit, wasn't very secure, so the… Read more
cleaning solution stopped dispensing. To remedy this, I made sure that the machine was at right angles to where the hose was being used. I feel that this is a manufacturing fault - the hose only has a clamp on one side, which allows the solution port to disconnect. At under $350 I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this carpet/lounge suite cleaner .
