Easy to use compared with my Kirby Machine – Did a good job. Is cheap and easy to use. I had to clean carpet after a party for 19 yr olds had been walking down to hall to the loo all night. Came up a treat. Did buy Vax Shampoo which was good. Easy to assemble which was my main problem with my Kirby  Show details

Sprinkle your carpet with water – If you want to sprinkle your carpet with water then by all means this machine is for you, bit like watering your garden. All it does is sprinkle your carpet with water and nothing else left the carpet damp might as well throw the bloody carpet in the washing machine would do a better job then this piece of crap did.  Show details

One of the few products in life to knock your socks off – Some products in life were meant to be, mobile phones, credit cards, LCD TV's etc......... and so was this. It was expensive at the time, but honestly has been worth every cent. I have used this product in 3 different houses (in one case after it was professionally cleaned) and after using it the water came out black in colour. It does a much… Read more

better job than the professionals by a long shot.

The trick is the rotary action of the rollers and the carpet gets sprayed at the same time. It has a separate collection reservoir which is really handy so you can see how dirty the carpet really was.

Refilling is quick and easy and in some cases you may need to unravel the dirt and hairs from the front rollers that accumulate after a good clean.

Big hint: The slower you go, the greater the extraction of dirt.

Highly recommended.

29 Oct 2015. I started having water issues where the sprayer would stay on and not turn off. Pulled it apart and couldn't see anything obvious. It uses a plastic valve to regulate the on/off cycle.

I suspect the water temperature was too high as soon as I reduced it below 40'C it worked fine. I had started using water at ~ 60'C and above and I think the valve expanded and got stuck. Will continue testing but instructions say to use water below 40'C.

Stat tuned.

Having used this about 3-4 times since the last review, the water problem has since been resolved by keeping the temperature around 20-25'C.

No problems at all and still extracting dirt out of the carpet. Great product.

Great unit! – We had old cream carpets in the house and I purchased this just prior to replacing them. With two dogs and kids they never stood a chance. Thought i'd give it a run on the old carpet and was absolutely amazed at how well it cleaned them. I suspect had we purchased this some years ago we may not have been replacing the carpet! Four months down… Read more ·  1

track and I've just given the new (brown) carpet a run over. It never ceases to amaze how much dirt and filth ends up in the tank! This is a powerful unit that knocks the dirt out and leaves the carpet requiring only a few hours dry time. Well worth the money.

Love the Vax... Repairman broke several things – I finally found a repairman in Geelong VIC. Upon arriving home I noticed the recline pedal is completely broken and just sitting on machine.bb I had been without it so long I thought I would use it anyway. When I started using I notice the back of the machine is now leaking. I was generally satisified with the results it gives me with my two… Read more ·  1

dogs. I'm just a mere woman, but I am sure with a repair book I could make repairs to this machine. I've had some things happen I couldn't control in the past year .... This is one thing I really need to get re-paired, since I am a new widow everything that goes wrong is just one more rather large problem.

I would really appreciate if you could help!!!

What a beast!!! I love this machine – My carpets needed a desperate clean, two hairy bum babies(dogs) and 3-4 years of grime desperate. In the past I have always used professionals and was intending to do that this time and then maintain with our own cleaner after that. The lovely sales man offered me a fantastic deal 40% off, too good to refuse. My carpets are like new, no… Read more ·  1

exageration and they are 27yo. So clean, fresh, perfect, just like the gorgeous man operating the machine, whom I must say Ive had for 37yrs and is much better looking than any professional. I just dont like to get rid of anything worthwhile. If you purchase one of these easy to use machines you really wont be sorry.I live in Tasmania and the carpets were still completely dry within 12 hrs and its winter. everything inc the operator

Broke after 2 uses, then 4 months away being repaired. Don't buy – Used the machine twice. Then it wouldn't work, (switch on the handle). Being an electronic engineer I knew the switch further down in the machine had moved down, not allowing the shaft that "pushed" on it to contact. Sent it away via the store, and had to chase, and chase and chase. Vax had it until mid May to do a 2 minute repair. Ended up… Read more

getting it back minus the upholstery brush. Vax sends the brush plush a whole new tube. Not really smart. ended up we had to get Chemdry in to clean our carpet and upholstery before our twins are born. (too cold here in the highlands to be be expecting everything to dry if I used the Vax).No compensation from Vax, just a forced apology. Don't buy a Vax product if you want customer service. In the meantime friends who saw what has happened to us have all bought other cheaper brands, and are happy as little pigs in mud. Save your money and do like wise. Will probably sell ours and go back to getting the cleaners in. Would have cost us less if we had just done that in the first place, when you take the time it takes to do it yourself into account. Nothing after the terrible service Terrible service. Company couldn't give a toss about the consumer.

Amazing is an under statement – I just love this machine, it is easy to use and with the pre-treatment nozzle and the hand brush it covers all nooks and crannies, stains that have been there after professional cleaning, had faded and now are gone, so happy, I love the capacity of the tanks and the fact that you can really soak a hard stain and it sucks all the water up and is just damp, and dry within four hours and it was a very cool day. Reliable, simple and easy to use  Show reply

Great machine – The Vax is a great machine, it cleans the carpet exceptionally well. I would give it five stars if it was cordless!! I did have a problem with it clogging up with fluff even after vacuuming first. It was a slightly frustrating getting the cord out of the way but just putting the cord over my shoulder helped. Cleans the carpet great Sometimes clogs up with fluff even after vacuuming first.

Now we're talking – Now we're cooking with gas! This machine impressed me. It's robust, good tank capacity, doesn't leak water all over the place, has a pre-treatment nozzle for spraying spots, as well as a hand brush attachment [censored word removed] hose [censored word removed] sprayer for the edges and patches etc. Normal operation solution discharge is good,… Read more

suction of discharged solution is good and best of all the filter doesn't block up!! because it's mounted high up on the collection tank. Now that's what I call a good design!

Hey you Home Hero humpty-dumpty mob, take a leaf from this design book.

Recommend you spend the $500 and get a good machine like this one. It comes with a bottle of pre-treatment solution and normal wash solution. Not sure yet how much the replacement bottles cost, but it's worth asking.

My place is over 400 square meters internal area, carpeted area is 200m2 plus. Got quoted $500 by a contractor to clean the carpets. Did it myself with pretty good results. So the machine is now free!

Only improvement suggestion is loose the left & right nozzles on the hand brush wand. No need to spray the neighbors backyards when doing your own...know what I mean? The left & right nozzles spray too far wide of the brush.

Good design and good product. Not sure if it's worth scrimping on something cheaper. Good design, good results. Hand brush wand sprayer needs one central jet/spray only.

Amazing. Very Impressed – I purchased one of these machines a few months back after doing my research and reading reviews and I have to say it actually does what it claims to do. I have used the upholstery attachment most to clean my lounges, which get particularly grubby with 2 toddlers. Tonight it was worth its weight in gold after my 2 year old got creative on my… Read more

lounge with a texta. This cleaner removed it all with no effort at all. Couldn't recommend it more. Ease of use, reliable The waste water reservoir always has sediment left in it when its emptied which is impossible to get out.

Vax Ultra Rapide 2 - fantastic!!! – After regrettfully buying a Bissell Powewash deluxe and having awful problems with it - I'm super happy to report that I love this machine!!! I love the fact you get decent sized seperate chambers for the solution and the dirty water - it's easy to set up and take apart to clean. The vax ultre plus solution is hard to find, but google vax and… Read more

their service agents are more than happy to order it in for you.

We have a new puppy so I've cleaned my carpet twice in the past few weeks and each time it looks better and brighter , getting old stains out that the Bissell and a professional shampooer - left behind. Very happy with this purchase :) good design, easy to set up and clean, bright clean carpets , easy to use , not back breaking work

Does a Great Job – I bought VAX Rapide Ultra 2 nearly 8 months ago now and have used it 4 times. In that time there has been nothing to change my opinion that this is a great home carpet cleaner worth spending money on rather than hiring other types of carpet cleaners or paying professionals. Our carpets are over 12 years old now and until I bought the VAX Rapide… Read more

Ultra 2 the carpets have only been cleaned by myself twice in the 6 years we've owned the house. The reason for that was using hire units was back breaking work and you were under time constraints to return them. The VAX Rapide Ultra 2 was much easier to use and didn't leave me with a very sore back afterwards.

The first time I used it I was surprised at how much pet hair it removed as I have a good vacuum cleaner and went over the carpet twice before putting the VAX Rapide Ultra 2 over it. I did the kids play room and main hall way first which had only been 6 months before in a Kirby demo (vacuum and carpet shampoo attachment). 2 months after the Kirby demo a brownish mark appeared on the carpet on one side of the hallway. I ran the Vax over this and there has been no sign of the mark re-appearing in 8 months so I would say it's gone.

The Vax Rapide Ultra 2 is great at recovering the water leaving the carpets dry ready to walk on again in about 1-2 hours depending on the climate outside. The cord is more than long enough so you don't have to keep moving power points. The bottle holds a good amount of liquid so you don't have keep refilling it every 30 seconds. The catchment tank is easy to disconnect and empty.

The only thing I don't like is small amounts of the hair and fluff that gets sucked up into the catchment tank get stuck in areas of the tank and you can't get in there to clean it out. Cleans very well, easy to push and pull, good length cord, holds a good amount of water, easy to empty Some hair/fluff gets stuck

Well designed product!! – Best product I have bought for a long time. Thoroughly washes carpets and leaves them perfectly clean. I used the hand attachment on the upholstery in our car and boy was the water in the collection tank filthy!! I cannot believe how good the dirt came out. Product is so good that my next door neighbour is going out to buy one as well!!! I… Read more

use the Bissell cleaning detergents in the Vax and they work great. Able to clean own carpet when I want, I can clean more thoroughly, the Vax is really well designed, got it for $450 at Godfreys with a free bottle of Bissell Shampoo!
