Steer clear of this mower - unless you only cut 10mm each run – Bought as the Bunnings guy said OK for our small couch grass. Old victa never had an issue even when grass a bit long after holiday. This 600W 18V mower just will not cut more than 10mm at a time. Just bogs down. Tried contacting Victa but their site prevents any message sending after filling in form - try again later every time. Tried calling - on hold ... DON"T waste your money on a Victa battery mower. Never had anything but Victas but this is last one. Do not buy mower based on area to be mowed - you can get another battery to mower more area. You need POWER to cut. This thing has inadequate power.

This lawn mower keeps cutting out – This lawn mower keeps cutting out. I am not sure why, it just turns off while using. This happens so frequently that it becomes very difficult to use.

Very poor battery life – I've had this lawn mower for less than a year and the battery has completely died and will not hold a charge. Using the mower itself was quite difficult at times with it turning off when trying to cut not even the thickest of grass. The main problem is the battery life on this lawn mower as it drains extremely fast and now after about a year it will not charge at all. Trying to get a replacement for it is very expensive (almost worth buying a new lawn mower, but not the victa) as bunnings and major mower shops don't even stock them. The warranty on the mower was only a year and sure enough it has completely died not long after. I would've been lucky to use it about 10 times in that period and my front yard is quite small but still had major problems with the Victa 18v lawn mower. My only advice for anyone that wants to buy an electric lawn mower is to stay away from this brand as it will not last long and it is of a very poor build, I will be buying a new lawn mower but will never trust the brand name Victa as it's nothing but problems and poor craftsmanship.

Victa not so good with electric mowers – The Victa 18V with blower combo box unit is a failure because it stopped working in 6 months. The issue was not the battery as the battery powered the blower. This is unexpected as it should have provided a great experience given the brands reputation. Victa lawn mowers have been an iconic brand in Australia for decades. The petrol units have been a mainstay in yards since I was a child. The transition to electric units has provided Victa an opportunity to provide a quality electric mower range. There is nothing quality about this 18V lawn mower.
The 18V mower is a lightweight small domestic unit. It was mowing fortnightly on a small block of flat manageable grass in the Melbourne suburbs. It constantly stalled as the blade seemed to be unable to cut through average length grass. You had to walk the unit at snail pace. It picked up grass reasonably well and could hold a reasonable quantity. The weight of the unit and the weight of grass was easy for a child or physically weaker person to use. The unit was totally unbalanced when picked up by the handle and this is a problematic failure as it tilted in the hand. Slight uneven grassed surfaces stalled the electric motor as it touched close to the soil. It was hard pressed to complete the light cutting task in the charge time which was about 30-45 minutes of use.
The single battery also appeared to charge worse and worse. By six months it holds only 50% power on the led display. You certainly had no charge to do blowing on the included blower. The blower seemed to have good force however it drains the battery in 15 minutes.
I went online to Victa product support. They offer a form to be filled out. It did not work. The website offers product registration which I used. I rang the support line. They answered Briggs and Stratton. They said take Victa to the purchase place for warranty. They offered no troubleshooting because they could not see the unit. They were not engaged to help troubleshoot. The service centre although staffed by locals was of the quality of an overseas service centre.
My recommendation is to avoid Victa branded goods that are electric. They are weak, cheap and you will be purchasing something else in a short space of time. Do not expect any support. Buy from a big chain to avoid warranty support issues.
Since this review I have reached the warranty replacement area and they passed me through to a very knowledgeable technician. They ran a series of tests and concluded the unit was working fine. They further concluded the unit was unable to mow the small yard when the grass was slightly thicker after seasonal rains and suns, or when the yard was left an additional week from its weekly cut. They suggested mow it three times on increasing lower settings. What this highlights is the unit is designed for micro yards with very thin and idealic grass. They suggested a more powerful unit as this was an entry level unit.
