Appalling and incompetent service Arranged for technician to attend on 23 March, they only give you a time frame of between 7am and 5pm. Technician arrived, looked at the wine fridge and stated it will be either the thermostat or the board. I asked if he was going to do any further diagnosis to which he responded it was always the thermostat or the board. He said he would replace the thermostat first and if that didn’t fix it he would replace the board. Yep sounds like he had no idea and was just going to keep replacing parts until it worked.

He stated he did not have the parts with home and he would have to return (which seems like a waste of time if is always the thermostat or board like he says). An appointment was made on 30 March for him to return however he failed to show up or contact us. We contacted Vintec(Electrolux) and they stated there had been some confusion with the bookings that day, no apology for the waste of a day waiting around for the no show. They stated the earliest they could attend was 27 April.

In the meantime the fridge failed completely, I had a technician from another company attend and he actually did a diagnosis including gas leak checks and the functionality of the thermostat. The thermostat was found to be working fine but the fridge had lost most of the gas through a leak he detected.

Contacted Vintec and to cancel the follow up as the fridge had now failed from an issue detected by a real technician doing a real diagnosis but they sent the technician anyway.

This company is an absolute circus clearly without a ring master. A technician that wants to replace parts on the ‘vibe of the thing’ rather than doing an actual diagnosis, then failing to turn up on the next appointment without any contact. Then the icing of him finally coming out after they were contacted and told not to bother as the fridge had now become uneconomical to repair when a proper diagnosis was done.

Lessons to be learnt; don’t spend your hard earned cash on Vintec they are rubbish.

Secondly if you already have one don’t rely on these clowns to fix it.

Yes please review the matter, at this point I am not convinced I should be paying for a diagnosis (seeing as one wasn’t done) and am more than happy to challenge your bill through QCAT.

Vintec products are not worth the money and don’t last – We purchased 4 vintec fridges about 10 years ago. 1 fridge lasted about 18 months and was replaced under warranty. That fridge only lasted 4 more years before it failed. A second fridge lasted about 5 years. The third fridge failed about 3 months ago. So i tried to get a technician to come out and fix it today. Typical be there in the afternoon and we will call you 30 mins before.

They cancelled the service because I didn’t answer the phone when they rang. They rang from an unlisted number, whilst I was on another call, didn’t leave a voice message or a text message so I could contact them back.

Vintec fridges are expensive, don’t last, 3 out 4 fridges have failed, and the service is poor. I would not recommend buying their products.

VINTEC190SGE-BK – Wine fridge froze wine. Have raised multiple times with company. In warranty and no repair despite 5 month waiting time nor compensation for loss of wine. Terrible service and support provided.
