Over a year now and still no refund – My family and I had a return flights booked last year from Vietnam to Macau as we were going to Visit Hongkong for a few days as this was the cheapest way to get there, before We left Australia I heard the airline was in trouble so I phoned them to be told my money would be refunded, this never happened!! Does anybody have any news??
Terrible – Never ever fly with Viva Macau. They cancelled both my flights and promised a refund within 90 days which I have still not received. I have contacted the NSW Department of Fair Trading and am about to proceed with legal action. I encourage you all to do the same if you are in a similar situation. Each state in Australia has a department which can help you. Dishonesty, refund claim still not settled, flight cancellation
Terrible – I warn against booking with Viva and ask, WHY haven't Macau government closed Viva down? They are bad for Macau. They are likely to be closed down shortly. I was one of hundreds Viva abandoned at Macau airport on March 25. Viva made no announcements, just left us in the airport all night thinking the flight was delayed. Four days later & still… Read more
nothing from Viva. Unlikely to get apology or refund. Had to rebook with another airline at my own cost to get out. I lost 2 days holiday, the cost of the Viva tickets, tours I paid for in advance and a lot of sleep. AND, VIVA ARE STILL SELLING TICKETS ONLINE BUT NOT FLYING. Not one of Vivas flights departed on the 25th and the same was happening the next day. Airport staff said they will not refuel Viva planes - it seems that Viva are insolvent.
Terrible – Turned up at the checkin counter only to be told that the flight was cancelled and that the next flight in 4 days time - maybe. Do yourself a favour and fly another airline poor quality service
Terrible – AVOID THIS AIRLINES AT ALL IF POSSIBLE. Just like the other guys said the company can cancel or reschedule your flight just days or hours before your flight and NO compensation what so ever. Horrible customer service, lowest grade you can give. AVOID !!! Schedule can be changed at any time Impolite and rude customer service
Terrible – I strongly advise everyone NOT to travel with this bloody airline! I booked my air tickets (Macau-Sydney-Macau) at a so-called saver value at about HKD5500. One day later, it launched a promo, at about HKD3300 return. Understand that they wanna push sales but in consumer's experience, it's totally INSANE! Okay, what actually makes me much… Read more
more frustrated is when I called them, all the agents were so rude to me, saying that it's a promo, yes i know, but added a bloody awful reply in Chinese that they always run promotions, you're sort of NOT smart enough to check frequently and wait until their promos, and it's anyway good for me as I should have learnt something from it, will know how to buy cheaper from them in the future.
Bloody hell! God knows when you launch your damned promotions!!!!! And how can you answer a customer's question in such an awful way?? Buy cheaper from them again in the future? No way!!!
I always fly low-cost carriers, incl. Air Asia, Ryanair and EasyJet in Europe, but haven't encountered such a bad experience. In a nutshell, Viva Macau really broadened my horizons, redefined low-cost carrier in such a direct way, even the service agents are low-cost, uneducated, impolite, no customer service AT ALL!!!
Voice from a totally dissatisfied customer of VIVA Macau Claimed to be cheap Rude, uneducated staff, bad promotion planning which made me pay 50% extra, anything but positive!
Terrible – What they did: 1. They decided to DELAY my flight for 2 days for operational reasons 2. They told me it will take 3 months for refund (which I doubt). 3. Again they DELAY my flight for 8 hours without notification (I only finds out AT the airport) 4. Charge ENORMOUS money for excess baggage (even for 1 kilo). 5. CRAPPY and OLD plane 6. Did… Read more
I mention that 1 of their 2 plane BROKE down? That's their secret reasons which I only find out from non viva macau airport staff.
7. I give them 3 months to go bankrupt.

Terrible – Viva Macau, the worst Airline company ever. warning!cheap is a trap! 1.Our bad experience with Viva Macau we bought the ticket from Tokyo to Macau(01/11/2009 21:00),then from Macau transfer to Jakarta(02/11/2009 09:00).but what happend to us? On 30th of october,we were told the flight from Macau to Jakarta was canceled, without any… Read more
reason!they told us either wait for the next flight on 4th of November,or buy another ticket from other company.we had an important meeting in Jakarta on third of NOV,so we had to choose to buy other tickets from Air Asia, and canceled the original flight from Viva Macau. But that's just the beginning of nightmare!!!!!!!! At 19:30 of November first,When we arrived at the airport, couldn't find any flight information of Viva Macau.. There was a passenger told us the flight from Tokyo to Macau was canceled,Without any prior notice!!such a big shock!!we couldn't find any staff of Viva Macau, and their phone was always busy, some staff of Narita airport said they had no idea of this.we were so angry and so unassisted.we had to stay at an hotel which was very costly,of course we paid it our own. There were around 15 passengers had the same bad experience as us. It's obvious that we have missed Air Aisa, and no information updates of Viva Macau, finally we were told by a passenger, the next flight would be on the next day at the same time. We had to spend on night in Macau, paid the hotel our own.couldn't face to any staff of Viva Macau. When i think about all my losses,i only want to say f****** Viva Macau,if someone here is working for this faithless company, you should feel shame! 2.How about Viva Macau?what is Viva Macau? I‘ve checked on internet, the big shock is that during two years, they have canceled numerous flights without any reason or any notice before,Macau Daily has reported these abominable affairs several times. Maybe you are curious, how can they be so unscrupulous and so presumptuous? If you If you do not worry that they can have no reason cancel flights, or loss luggages without any responsibility, then you could choose this cheap flight.if everything goes well that you are really a lucky person, after that you should play casino in Macau!i consider that choose VIva Macau or play casino in fact the same. You may think why there are not many complaints of this f****** airline?i have the same question and i don't know why!i went to Macao SAR Government Consumer Council, they told us they've got over 1000 complaint cases of Viva Macau, there are over 1000 passengers haven't yet get back the refundment!they frankly said they have no power to punish Viva Macau, the best they can do is listen to you and give you commiserative eyes.in fact this f****** airline is exploiting legal loopholes and play passengers as a football, even you bought the insurance, but how troublesome and how much they pay you back absolutely you have no idea. 3.how do we do with Viva Macau? If you are the victim, please don't be silent, please do your best to tell others do not take Viva Macau airline,i believe you understand how the victim's feeling.and if you are in Macau, you can directly go to their office and face to the director [name censored],she is a smooth article,if she doesn't want to meet you, then just roar in their office, this is very good for their staff.
Cancellation without warning and reason, take care of their customer like dogs, not brave enough to come to discuss with you,Not cheap as you have to pay additional ticket to come back and they do not pay for the hotel
OK – For people travelling to Philippines, Hongkong, China, Macau, flyvivamacau should be their choice of airline as far as fare affordability is concerned. Its airfare are great even during peak season. Macau, its base is, is also very close the countries mentioned above and good place to visit as well. flyvivamacau is an airline which offers… Read more
cheap/reasonable airfare unlike other airlines even during peak season such as December. Its staff are friendly and the service is acceptable. The seats are fine and seems to be more comfortable than those with airasia at AirAsiaPlus.com. Can't think of one at the moment.
Terrible – Fare may be cheap, beware of flight "rescheduled" at short notice. Viva Macau not responsible for your cancellation penalty for pre-paid hotel and tour. Cheap fare Booked flight ZG9500/08Sep09 "rescheduled" ..actually canncelled on 02Sep09, 6 days from departure. "full refund" said to take 3 months and at 4 months is still outstanding. Repeated emails chasing met with zero response.
Terrible – DON'T TAKE VIVA MACAU AIRLINES AT ANY STAKE!! Unless you're going to die if you don't. Many many people have been the victim of "cheap tickets" Viva Macau offers, but they cancel flights just like that, very closely to departure date, and "PURPOSELY" delaying the refundment in an attempt to make us tired of complaining and just let it go ... 1.… Read more
They cancelled the confirmed & full-paid tickets closely to departure date (mine: 2 days before) & said that the flight will be pushed to a few days later (my flight was from Jakarta-Macau & I booked for 15 people at the time since me & my relatives was going together, at April 3rd 2009).
2. When we wanted to complaint, it's so hard to contact them through the phone
3. When we managed to contact them & complaint that we already booked & paid for the hotel & travel agents etc in Macau, finally they said that we can book another flight at max. of 4000 MOP/person & we can reimburse later with only "emailing the invoice & boarding ticket" and so we did (with the total of $5793). But the reality is, up until now (Jan 7, 2010, which is already 9 months after the flight date), they still haven't settled the refundment & the worst part is, they are so hard to contact, via email, phone, fax etc, & we are bounced from one person to another with nobody taking responsibility to settle this matter until completely finished.
OK – I took a plane to Macau recently, landing straight in the middle of a typhoon. As this is classified as 'emergency', they provided good service for the winds we were in. The plane ride itself didn't have entertainment facilities, nor food. However, the cheapness of the plane ticket makes up for all that! All in all, Viva Macau is a good budget… Read more
airline to take if you want cheap tickets, just wouldn't recommend it for families with small children. Cheap, gets you there safely, good service. The planes aren't the best, no food served on board if you don't pay, may get turbulent.
