Just over 3 years old. FREEZES everything! – Purchased January 2020. Used it on a few trips, but mainly as a shed fridge for drinks. No issues until recently started freezing regardless of temp set. The switch is on NORMAL USE, not EMERGENCY. Obviously the thermistor is not working correctly. For such as expensive piece of equipment I thought it would have lasted longer.

CFX65 Dual Zone - decides to freeze – My CFX65 Dual Zone is 12 years old and been a good reliable camp fridge or freezer. It has just started to freeze everything at -15. We had it running at -2 and usually works fine. Now it wants to just freeze up by itself. Any suggestions please? Not looking at spending big money due to its age. But happy to spend a small amount as it’s been a great fridge.

These are great fridges, a must for any camp trip – I’ve had a number of different fridges now and this has been best so far. Digital temp display is accurate and fridge works great as a freezer as well at -15deg on solar panels with a single 105amp/hr battery. We often go off grid for 10 days and I run the 65 and a small cfx28 for beers on 400w solar panels. Great product

Lasted 1 day on the track – This is one of the worst fridges I have had the misfortune to own. At home in December while prepping for a trip in August it cut out on 12v because the weather was too hot for it to handle. On our recent outback trip it couldnt handle the rattling/shaking or dust of the first track and failed after just one day, luckily we were heading for Broken hill.

At Broken Hill we jettisoned the Waeco and bought an Engel to replace it, the Engel never missed a beat on a 2 week trip on below average gravel roads.

Save your money and buy Engel.
